Akron, OU, and UB have all won the East in the last four years... who is missing?

I don't think there's much animosity between us on the gridiron. In Akron, at least, we've gotten blasted recently. Morale is down and I'm not sure how much trust there is right now in Boo Jackson. The defense has started to deteriorate in recent games, probably from too much field time. At least Davidson has been looking good in the backfield.I don't think we hit 20, but you probably get 30.

And in doing so, he became the first coach to team the same team (WMU) twice in one year helming two different squads.I stand corrected. Kelly did leave CMU prior to the bowl, but he did coach UC to their bowl win. -
Two camps are sort of forming. One is turning against him, the other firmly behind. I am in the camp against him. I don't think he's under any real heat this year, but he's going to need to do something next year.
So I know you guys have been battling injuries all year, and I'm wondering if this has deflected any possible criticism/disatisfaction with Solich. Is he feeling any heat from the OU fans? Obvously a win over the Zips would help his cause, and I'm expecting a very difficult game.
Nah, I'm too numb from the incompetence of these guys. I feel like going is a punishment, honestly.77 is the way to go, even with the Lancaster bypass. Seriously. I've done that drive too many times,I'll have to settle for Frenchy's call from his alma mater on Saturday. It looks like the Zips are 2.5 to 3 point favorites. I'd sure like to beat these guys down there. Even if it's only to get under O-Zoner's skin

It's like a WWI infirmary. We lost our QB in Columbus, our first and second string halfbacks, fullback's been out all year, TE out, receivers have been out, both lines decimated.But the killer has been penalties and mental mistakes, which injuries don't account for. These guys are good at finding ways to lose.

For what it's worth, I was really impressed by what Akron was able to do this year. You lost two core players and had Wood go down in the middle of the conference schedule. You still came within a game of the division title and made it to the finals. You blew out the West Division champs on a neutral floor.These are all very impressive things, and few people outside this board thought the Zips were capable of that. Yes, last night was bad, but that other team is just playing too well right now.Seriously, there's a lot to be proud of this season for you guys.

(sighs)Check out the last play for OU if you have a chance on DVR.Leon had worked himself to very good position against Wood .. they were bodying up pretty hard, and Leon had Wood sealed off to the outside. A bounce pass to the lane or a lob over top, and it's likely Leon dunks home the game winner.2 guys were well guarded up top, but Michael Allen was all alone on the opposite wing with 4.5 seconds left. Bubba had plenty of time for a skip pass across .. McNees was shading to the top of the key and Allen was "dancing without a partner" Bubba jacking that shot was entirely unneccessary. One good pass, and OU has a much higher percentage look. -
While Chones might have Alzheimer's, Reghi is one of the best in the business. Love that guy.Where did they dredge these two up from anywhere? -
I don't think it was an ugly game, I think it was solid defensive performance by both teams. Both squads ratcheted up the pressure when they got down. There were nerves, but it was a good game.Great play at the end by Linhart. I'd call it lucky, but I've seen enough of his ugly-but-effective play to know otherwise. Wow, he barely got that ball.Couldn't have worked out any better for you guys, huh? Anyway, good game, see you down in Athens.

I can see it being a good thing IF the conference as a whole raises the RPI. If the conference enforces a scheduling policy (ala the MVC), then it could be beneficial. Fewer non-conference games, in theory, would compel coaches to schedule fewer cupcakes. It could compel them to avoid guarantee games and quality opponents to seek out wins, though. As it stands, though, do you want to play NIU and Ball State twice a year?As it is, too many teams are scheduling too weakly, and that needs to change.
How crazy is he? Now if the conference as a whole was stronger, would it be such a bad idea? You would think that it would force teams to schedule good non-conference teams on their RPI wouldn't it?

OK, THAT was funny.Easy, make him take shots from inside 30 feet. The unfamiliarity of the experience will be so overwhelming that he won't be able to make a shot. -

Be that as it may, again, he hit big shots late that kept us in the game. He was the only guard trying to do anything on offense. I put that loss on the coaching, Hester, Tillman, and Allen, in that order.

I disagree. In fact, he was one the reasons (with Leon) we had a chance at the end.From what I hear, this is essentially why they lost the BG game. I guess the inside game was working, but Bubba kept launching (and missing) shots from way beyound the arc.
