  1. Yeah, the 110 is the band. The Fairfield Union High School band filled in (and did a pretty good job, I think). Obviously, I'm very proud of our group and what we do. I hope you guys are able to get your numbers up and keep the intensity up. It's good for the conference as a whole.

  2. I think that everyone focuses on the times when the other crowd is quiet and ignores when their own crowd is. I could say the same thing about the Rowdies that you said about us... but I don't think either is true. No crowd is going to be screaming on every single possession (that just requires too much energy); the important part is to know when to really make noise. I think that's something we do well. Obviously, I disagree that we were only loud when the game was tied/we led. It was sort of a weird setup tonight with only half the cheerleaders and no 110 (they're in Mobile). We get behind the team whether they're up or down. Hopefully you come back again and can see that. I also have to say that Akron straight up shut us up on a few occasions. They're really good at that- probably better than any other team in the conference. Also, I apologize for the stuff being thrown at you. That's not cool.

  3. First, we did lead in the first half at last year's game at the JAR. But that's neither here nor there...Lots of respect to the Zips. Your team plays with a lot of heart and guts. There were times when most teams would have faded away (especially with the crowd going), but someone stepped up and answered. Nick Dials, for as hard a time as we give him, has balls of steel. Middleton is the MAC's most underrated player to me. There's no reason to think that in the MAC it's Ohio, Akron, and everyone else. Also a shame this game wasn't on TV; it was probably the best game of the year (on the first day, no less).

  4. Bubba is one of OU's stars, and he was about to become a bench-dweller on our roster. Enough said.
Or maybe he's blossomed in the increased minutes he's seen? Come on, there's no reasonable argument you can make to say you're better just because a guy who didn't start for you starts for us. Wood probably wouldn't start over Leon and Jerome. Does that mean we're better?
  5. For all your claims his defense sucks, he's been a pretty decent guy on the defensive end. And I don't think you'd find any Bobcat fan who believes he's our best player. He's not even our best starting guard. But who wouldn't want a guy averaging 15 points a game?

  6. Tonight was a lot of fun for us. For the first time in a long time, I think we're ready to hit the MAC schedule running. We're playing very well at home... we should win in seven days time.Visitors are always welcome (we are obviously proud of the O Zone). Just don't claim to be bringing 10 buses.

  7. I agree with trying the no-huddle right away. In fact OU might do it to us right away.
Unlikely. We don't have the personnel to pull that off. I know the o-linemen absolutely hate the no-huddle. Plus, you need to be able to pass the ball to make it work... you know how awesome our air attack is.A no-huddle against us is a pretty good idea. I think Illinois used it successfully against us.
  8. 2.) the game is in Oxford. If the game was at OU, I might think differently, but this game has always been a great rivalry! I think it may go in our favor. Miami has a poor record, but they have put up some good fights. They only lost by a TD AT Purdue, they only lost by 2 to Can't (where we got our asses beat), They only lost by 3 to NIU, and they only lost by 3 AT W. Michigan.
Three points here...1. There might be more people wearing green than red that day in Yager. And if not, well, we're louder than they are. Anyone who has seen OUr fans and their fans in the same place knows this.2. For whatever reason, Fiami is worse at home this year than on the road. Both their wins came away from Oxford. They just can't seem to get it together on their own field.3. Eastern Michigan has lost a whole bunch of close games too. Means they're a bad team. We've already taken care of the Eagles.Plus, we're looking to pay them back for eight years of misery. We're going to take it to them.
  9. -Their offense is one-dimensional, put 8 in the box and shut them down.-Their QB is arguably the worst QB in all of the 119 teams in the NCAA, NOT worried at all about the pass.-Their defense is solid against the run but mediocre against the pass, and hasn't faced recievers like Harvey and Jabari, or a QB that can pass as well as Getsy (when he's hot) .IF WE DONT BEAT THEM WE ARE NOT THE TEAM I THOUGHT WE WERE!!!
    - One-dimensional? Yep, and everyone knows it. Yet no one seems to be able to stop it...- We're not worried about the pass either. We don't need to do it.- The great state of Missouri objects to this.
  10. Ohio likes to keep the ball on the ground and the score low. Their rush defense is pretty much impenetrable right now, but the pass defense can be caught sleeping at times. If Akron wants to win, they need to score early and force the Bobcats to catchup through the air. Make Everson beat you, not McRae. Special teams are also important, as Lasher is an excellent punter and kicker. Returner Chris Garrett is tops in the nation in average.

  11. Don't underestimate the hot team.  Toledo did what it needed to do to win, and they've already beaten Can't this year.  They can do it.  And Stan Joplin is still fighting for his job.
True, but we also beat them at home. The loss came at Toledo after the very tough Akron match. We also won 6 straight after that before losing at Akron. On a neutral court, they don't have a chance. If the Men show up to play...it'll be a cakewalk.
Why don't they have a chance on a neutral court? Savage Hall is hardly Cameron Indoor. The fact of the matter remains they're the hotter of the two teams. If you think you're going to roll over them, you're in for a hurting, I'd say. You don't get to the finals unless you earn it.
