  1. So how many PPG does B MKnight average? If we just had 4 of them...
  2. But you can blindly slam the coach without knowing the details?Perhaps that's proof that old age doesn't overcome a lack of perspective or priorities.Go Zips!I am not slamming the coach. I am saying that two suspensions of starters in a week shows lack of control.
  3. This is actually the worst I have seen them play. They look like they are playing against a Pro team. Turnover after turnover, no hustle on the offensive boards. Just awful
  4. My point exactly
  5. I am watching this on zips zone. They are just not hustling. Especially on the offensive boards.
  6. So, you blame KD for the lack of discipline, but then criticize him for disciplining one of those players. You're contradicting yourself. The coach has to be able to maintain control without resorting to sanctions. That is his job. The fact that he has now suspended two starters speak volumes to his lack of control of the team.when you get older you will understand that.
  7. Watching it on the zips zone. They have the CMU feed, which interestingly as has the audio stream! And the camera work is excellent, like a pro game.Take a hint zips.
  8. So your argument is, "I'm old, therefore I'm right." Whatever. You'll be old someday. Hopefully. We don't even know what he was suspended for. So I can't blindly back the coach who suspended another starter last week (and we LOST that game) without knowing the details. Some of the players we had in the late 60's/early 70's were not children of privilege, to say the least. But they were poetry in motion on the court. It's about winning, or don't bother. Not that I would support a player that commits a crime or uses drugs. But we don't know why he was suspended, and I won't just assume the worst.
  9. Absolutely wrong. You don't look the other way, this isn't K-ent.These are STUDENT athletes. As coach said in the pregame, "We continue to have low tolerance, no player is bigger than the program." I love it.At the end of the season, all that counts is the final standings. No one is going to remember that we could have should have would have won with humpty/brett/whoever gets suspended next.I'm embarrassed that you're a Zip fan. Go root for Can't.I've been a Zips fan longer than you have been alive. At the end of the day it is the W column that counts.Winning isn't everything. It's the ONLY thing.
  10. This is horrible. Keep Zeke in and let him play. Constantly taking him out is destroying his confidence.

  12. For the first time I am starting to think the lack of discipline is KD's fault. This is the THIRD starting player suspended this year (the first was the STARTING QB for football). That worked out real well for the coach, I mean X coach. This is absurd. You can't win big games without your stars.
  13. +1The Zips happen to be a team without a star. That's right, not even one standout player. No one in the class (standout wise) of Kool or Al Fisher. Yet they continue to win way more than they lose. This year is not a great team. But we do have a great coach. Add just one star and this could be a great team.
  14. A couple of points by Humpty would have made the difference.
  15. But you know, when you lose a game by two or three points, and you leave your starting point guard sitting on the bench in street clothes, someone's judgement has to be questioned.
  16. It is frustrating to say the least. The feed is not working and the game is supposed to be on FSN Ohio but down here in the Columbus area they apparently have decided to show poker instead. Freakin' POKER over an actual sport on a sports network!Once again Akron gets respect! And at 9:00 I'm turning off the audio to watch 24
  17. OK, I didn't want to watch the Zips lose tonite anyway.
  18. I don't know if it was justified, but suspending your star player is not a good thing. If you have to suspend someone, make it Alex Sullivan. Oh wait, they did.
  19. So now I can get video, but there is no audio on the Akron ISP, and the WARF audio is WAY in front of the game, like 30-45 seconds. Can't they ever get this right?
  20. What's up with that????Football suspended the starting quarterback. That worked out well. At the end of the season the Coach was permanently suspended.
  21. Log on, click on the link for the game, and we get....PLEASE STAND BYTypical Akron. No wonder I could not wait to get back to New York after I graduated. NOTHING HAS CHANGED IN 39 years.
  22. You know, as someone who attended UA in the last century (and NOT the END of the Century, closer to the middle) and now lives in New York, it is really hard to follow UA football lately. I mean they were HORRIBLE, and when the team is that bad, and has no chance of any postseason anything, it just is not interesting.I don't follow soccer. Good for the team that they came so close, I just can't personally get interested in soccer. I could be a big football fan (have not missed a Giants game in over 30 years), but damn it, at least be competitive to hold some interest. For UA, even back in the day, BBall was THE sport. My freshman year was right after the Turner/Don Williams days, and it was a "rebuilding" year. We were awful. There was not a shot clock as I recall, and our strategy was to stall and win a 2-0 game. Of course, that never worked. But the next year, we got Len Paul and the place ROCKED. Memorial Hall used to be standing room only. I remember watching games while standing on the court near the exits by the far basket. It was easy to get hooked on UA B Ball in those days. But when you speak of the big picture, the big picture is FOOTBALL and BASKETBALL. Nothing against the other athletes, but those are the MONEY SPORTS in college. Bottom line, field competitive Football and Basketball teams and you will get fans.As always, YMMV
  23. According to MAC-Sports site, the record holder for blocked shots in the MAC all-time is Same Pellom(1974-1978) from Buffalo with 375 blocked shots...WOW...that's pretty impressive. It's a big number, but I have no idea why this would count towards a MAC record since it occurred over 15 years before U@B was admitted into the MAC. Also, I believe the Bulls were D-III during this time. Are the exploits of the Wyatt Webb teams here at UA (etc.) eligible for places in the all-time MAC record books?Wyatt Webb? Now you're talking to the old guys!We had some really good teams, but we were DIV III don't see how that could count towards MAC records, we were not playing MAC teams.
  24. Got a phone number for the athletic office? When I email whoever runs the ISP thing, they simply ignore it and never answer. At some point a box popped up to "view the second half", by the time I saw that it was over.Methinks they "forgot" to stream the video.Assholes.
  25. But you CAN'T watch it. Period. They don't broadcast the video
