It is easy to explain. We are down FOUR players. Two starters and the guy who subs for Zeke. We are only half the team that lost to Buffalo to break the streak. AND VCU is a Final Four team. Expect them to go FAR. Besides which, they simply could not miss. You can't beat that.

This game is on CBS in prime time. Have we ever had a prime time game on broadcast TV? This might be a first. The whole world is watching.

I am 100% on board with this move. Jumping to a 5 bid league would double or triple our prestige, plus it would quintuple our chances of getting an at large.

We will have to get that under 10 to beat VCU.

On any given night, ANY DI team can beat any other DI team. VCU is not playing a high school team, or a schoolyard pickup team. They are playing a team that won 19 in a row, won both their conference and conference tournament, and beat Princeton, Penn State and MTSU, each of whom had some good wins of their own. They are also playing a team that defeated a 2012 Sweet 16 team, which was conference co-champion (and I choke on those words) and got an at large to the NIT. Did I mention they beat that team THREE TIMES? It is not over until the Fat Lady sings. It is not over if there is a 20 point deficit at the half, as this team has come back many times. It will be over sometime after 11:30 tomorrow night. Until then, the odds are simply 50-50. We will win or we will lose. 50-50.

Actually, that is the X Factor. We could come out shooting 90%, they could come out shooting 10% and commit 30 fouls in the first half. Statistics are nice, all that counts is what happens in the game. Right now the odds are actually 50%. We will either win or lose.
