  1. There is another angle here. There is a co defendant. Based on what was published, they may have already made statements implicating each other. The prosecutor may well decide which one it wants to "get" more, and make a deal with the other. Happens every day. If that is the case, AA may be in a poor position because giving him the deal might imply favoritism to a local athlete.
  2. The jury selection will probably be the longest part of the trial. And that might actually be a problem, since he is a local sports hero. But I suspect that actual testimony will not take more than two or three days. The cops or agents who discovered the package and made the delivery and the ARRESTS. The lab tech to certify the drugs are real. Whatever else they have on him if indeed he was not present for the delivery. Possibly an expert witness on drug transportation. That's likely about it. Only a few days.
  3. There is no way to know. The lawyers and witness have to be available, and things happen. It does not say it is a firm trial date. In New York, once all the preliminary hearings are over, the case is set down for trial. Each adjournment will be for "trial", because that is the status of the case. But I don't know how they proceed in Ohio.
  4. I think you just took contrary pills today.
  5. And you know that how? Are you a DEA Agent or a Prosecutor? The Police made an arrest. The circumstances are unclear. They have charged him with possessing something that he may have never possessed. Yes, they could have been Acting in Concert. That looks like the basis of the charges. But, you need to put evidence beyond a reasonable doubt in front of a jury at trial. They may or may not be able to do so.
  6. I got tired just watching that. Wish we had seen some of that outside shooting in the season. The problem is, EVERYONE in the NBA can do all that stuff.
  7. It is not so obvious.
  8. The package was delivered to a home on East Dartmore Avenue, which was the residence police listed for Durgala, and it was not addressed to Abreu. “That’s true. It was not,” Meeker said. “It was mailed to the residence where the other person was arrested, Alex was not there at the time and it was not sent to him.” Meeker declined to comment about whose name was on the package, citing what he described as some “open areas” of police and prosecution evidence that still need to be examined before trial. Of course, this is what his lawyer says, so take it with a grain of salt. However, the implication is that the other guy gave him up. Note that the other guy's lawyer asked for a separate trial. That usually means that they made statements against each other. IF AA was not there, and the package was not addressed to him, it may be a tough sell to a jury.
  9. Any chance he transfers to A K R O N?

  11. It seems to me that an awful lot can happen between now and October. One or more players could transfer for reasons that don't even exist now. One or more players could get hurt or have academic problems and be declared ineligible. We could suddenly get a transfer like we did with Pat F last year. LeBron James could decide to go to college - he still has his four years, right? I mean, it is just to early to be psyched up or project what will happen.
  12. So our two recruits are "unranked"? Great And isn't Isiah supposed to be 6'9" ?
  13. TE no way. Wide receiver - throw the ball around 9 feet in the air and no one else could catch it. But can the big guy take a hit?
  14. I know. Just saying.
  15. Maybe it is too soon to judge: Cops: 15 pounds of pot mailed to unknowing patients He sent shipments of marijuana to the health care facility where he worked using the names of patients, Long Beach police said. Now, after an undercover operation conducted with U.S. Postal Service inspectors, a Queens man is under arrest -- charged with first-degree criminal possession of marijuana. Police said Michael Gonzalez of Howard Beach was arrested after two "large shipments" of marijuana were sent to the facility. The facility's name and location are not being released to protect the identity of the patients involved, police said. Police said more than 15 pounds of marijuana were recovered during the operation. Gonzalez was scheduled for arraignment Wednesday in Long Beach City Court. It was not clear when or where he was arrested. Police said patients were "completely unaware that their names were being used to have these packages sent" and that, upon delivery, Gonzalez retrieved the packages and hid them in a storage area. Police said management and staff at the facility were "extremely cooperative" with detectives during the investigation. That investigation is ongoing, police said. "This type of scheme is common throughout the country," Det. Lt. Stefan Chernaski, commanding officer of the Long Beach Detective Division, who supervised the operation, said in a statement. "The marijuana is wrapped in a certain way to attempt to avoid detection and the listed addressee is usually completely unaware that a package was shipped in their name," Chernaski said, adding: "This particular case was more egregious because a health care facility and two unsuspecting elderly people were used." Long Beach Police Commissioner Michael Tangney said: "Often these types of cases emerge quickly and there is a very brief window in which to act. Our detectives, including the Narcotics Task Force, mobilized quickly to work with the postal inspectors. They put together a somewhat complex undercover investigation very quickly . . . and made the arrest. It was top-notch police work."
  16. This guy Baker on Wichita sure reminds me of Steve Mcnees.
  17. Like I said, you can't keep your mouth shut.
  18. I know who the shooter was on the Grassy Knoll. But I can't tell you because you can't keep your mouth shut.
  19. Actually, this should be really interesting. I don't know how many minutes Zeke will get, but with DJ to feed him and all stars to guard the perimeter on defense, Zeke could go wild. 25 points on dunks and lay ups, 15 rebounds and 10 blocks. Because, for the first time in College, his only job would be to live under the basket and dunk everything and rebound everything and block everything. Should be very interesting.
  20. What does any of that have to do with AA?
  21. LOL After 28 years in the Courts I can not tell you how many times I have seen men get screwed over. The system is stacked in favor of the woman. But they are all not so sweet and innocent. It does take two to tango.
  22. YES, THAT is why KD did not offer him when he REALLY REALLY wanted to be a Zip! 25 pts, 12 boards. Yeah, he is horrible.
  23. Watching the Dance, I mean Zeke is really good, but some of these guys,,,,WOW McGary and Withy very very impressive.
  24. At my courthouse we had a "computer guy" who was paid two lines higher than me. When a (Dell) computer would go down, he would ask me to help get it running. If I was not available it was format the hard drive and too bad. He was unable to do anything to actually fix computers. All he did was build hard drives and install software. Often, new software would crash the computers and then I would fix them.
  25. So he went to college for four years full time and ends up with a two year degree? I hear you about the certifications, but I can tell you that for the good computer jobs in NY State Government the four year degree counts for a lot. As in everything.
