Let's see how long it is before the Columbus/Cleveland Broken Urnal gets this in print: Rick McFadden is on the staff-- replacing Mike Yeater, who went to Robert Morris, (that's in Pittsburgh) as # 3 asst, a step up. Welcome back home, Rick--glad to have you here, and good fortune to you Mike, thanks for all your hard work. WBALAL

I posted last week that the "A"game has to be brought every game-- now I will add every second of every game. Unless injury prevents it, you must perform all the time. Although after watching Salley from OSU outrun State w/a painful injury, maybe an injury is not that much of an excuse. I know that everybody has differnt levels of pain threshold, but dang it you play or sit. Mental toughness will always make uo for some lack of talent so the Zipd need 1. Meental toughness 2. Killer instinct and maybe 3. More conditioning?? In any case something is serously wrong with the program. With ball ammunition lock and load.

Category-- trivia, the Zips lost the 1986 National Championship to Duke (PUKE), there was a player on that Duke (PUKE) team named Ken Lolla. Guess where Mr. Lolla is now!! With ball ammunition lock and load. -
I don't want to nit pick either but I will, I learned from critics of Tony Laturza that wins were not good enuf--they have to be pretty!!!!!!!!!!! A win ugly is as good as a win pretty-- JUST WIN, pretty much of a bottom line guy here. AND YESTERDAY WAS A WIN! With ball ammunition, lock and load.

I think GP1 is a good pick, I have a sneaky suspicion the injury situation may crop up. WBALAL

TOO SOON TO RULE OUT MIAMI, ALTHOUGH THERE IS NOTHING I WLD RTHR DO, BUT THAT SAID, THE ZIPS NEED TO TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS THE REMAINDER OF THE SEASON. WITH BALL AMMUNITION, LOCK AND LOAD.

There are always crepe hangers out there that want to hang everybody, one day at a time but, Zips, bring your "A" game, or don't come. WBALAL

Fair weather fans, they are, but you've got to admit that a lot of PLAYERS were not prepared in the head to play the game. As most of you out there know, in the real world you had better d!!! well be ready to do the job when you get there, I found that out at the tender age of 17, the team members are, surely older than that. It's beyond me how anyone can be unprepared mentally to go yo work--I worked 38 yrs of midnites, swings and days. I had to be mentally ready when I was scheduled to work, the display of the football team was an utter disgrace. THEY WERE NOT READY TO PLAY---DISGUSTING.

ITZ== if you go to pit to see a game, you must be doing it to see the stadium, because the team is not worth walking across the street to watch, and i am a former partial season ticket holder. having that team playing in that stadium is like putting whipped cream on a dog turd!

Akron when they were 1AA did they get respect?
zip37 replied to Ryno aka Menace's topic in Akron Zips Football
OK you youngsters, here is how it used to be, from the advent of the Acme-Zip game until it was discontinued, there was only 1 big game and Acme-Zip was it. It drew a full to overflowing Bowl. Then, the people of Akron and surrounding areas thought the season was over. Attendence at the A-Z was 32K plus then it fell off to a few thousand and remained that way until in the late 60s thru late 70s they would get a half Bowl or a little better for a playoff game. I think we are a little better off in the number of fans we get thruout the season than in the past. P.S. The first overtime football game in NCAA history was at the R.B. whhen the Zips beat Northern Michigan in a playoff game either thr Grantland Rice or Alonzo Stagg bowl. The attendence was disappointing. Maybe an on campus site will help, but don't hold your breath. With ball ammunition lock and load. -
There were basketball people there that I haven't seen since Bob Huggins left the program, lots of former players, H.S. coaches and lots of fans. The food was good, the beer cold and the fellowship outstanding. With ball ammunition lock and load. As you may or may not know, Crawford and Hipsher did not continue the pre or post season banquets that were started by Huggs.

HEY, THE WAY THINGS ARE GOING, WE WILL BE WHERE WE WERE IN 1986, AND THEN WE HAD AN A.D. THAT TRADED JIM DENNISON AND BOB HUGGINS FOR JERRY FAUST, THE THEN PRES. MUSE ALLOWED IF NOT INSTIGATED THE WHOLE AFFAIR, SO THE SECRET IS A GREAT UNIV. PRESIDENT AND A.D., BOTH OF WHICH WE HAVE. PERSONALLY, I HOPE J.D. RETIRES HERE DITTO K.D., BUT IF EITHER LEAVES THEY CAN BE REPLACED IF, AND ONLY IF, THE PRESIDENT AND A.D REMAIN, WE BETTER HOPE THEY BOTH DO. WITH BALL AMMUNITION LOCK AND LOAD.

The Rubber Bowl is on the southeast side of Akron, off U.S. Route 224, take I-76 E it becomes U.S. 224, There is a sports Bar called Wing Warehouse off 224 about a mile east of R.B. in complex called Gala Commons. fair food and lots of different beers on draft, I suggest Rolling Rock. GO ZIPS!! With ball ammunition lock and load.

zip37 replied to Dr Z's topic in Akron Zips Basketball Recruiting
Ain't it great that we have a coach that can teach, recruit, think on his feet and depart from the game plan when necessary--and can get along with the players and fans? What a pleasing departure from the previous 2 coaches! With ball ammunition lock and load. P.S. When is the early signing period?
