  1. I read the top portion that said "Examiner.com Atlanta." The detail/Bio Link does not say anything about location. Bio He is actually with Examiner.com Akron. Examiner.com Akron Does it matter? The coverage is good for the Zips no matter where he's from or where it's posted. Guys like you jumping down people's throats are why I rarely post.... I'm out..... For what it's worth, I appreciated the post.
  2. The video is also from his Soph. season!? He looks like a good one.
  3. Info courtesy of Johnnyzip84. I moved the info out of Zach's minute-by-minute offer update thread so it wouldn't become lost. Zips land PA H-Back Nick Rossi. He's a 3-star recruit who also played LB and had offers from WVU and Temple. Scranton Times Scout Profile ESPN Info
  4. Not to divert the thread, but I thought it was funny that I received an invite to a University-sponsored event a few weeks ago. The University-sent email referred to itself as "Akron U."
  5. As much as I dislike the Flushes, I like to see them and Akron both competitive in the East...makes me hope that spanking them for the Wagon Wheel can also mean a trip to the MAC title game one of these years...doubly sweet. I hope K.e.n.t. loses every game by 50 points. I hope they draw under 9k, instead of their goal of 90k. I hope they continue to arrest their alumni who tailgate at homecoming. I hope they get busted for multiple major recruiting violations. I hope 45 K.e.n.t. players get arrested in an ugly, drunken street brawl that makes national news for 5 weeks. I hope Doug Martin gets another contract extension after a 2-10 season. F K.e.n.t. I hate K.e.n.t.
  6. Sucky Dougy Just Can't Win
  7. Hands-down, "Doug Martin is a genius of a football coach" is the most absurd of your statements. It is funny to see Zips fans grouse about the hiring of a new coach after 4- and 3-win seasons.... whomever the coach might be. In K.e.n.t., 3-9 gets you a 5-year contract extension.
  8. Indy Star Mentions Offer - IPFW is the Favorite More on Moore
  9. The 3-3-5 defense had nothing to do with the off the field turmoil. You can't let teams march up and down the field at will. College football has become high scoring, but at times, you still have to stop people or at least hold them to a fg try. I was saying that despite injuries and other issues we weren't overmatched in the MAC. Which is what you have been saying ever since I joined Zipsnation. There is no reason we shouldn't expect .500 or better out of this team. Temple and Central Michigan pounded us pretty good. Other than that, we were in every MAC game.
  10. Who was that Grayshirt Fr. kicker that was supposed to be so great? I don't see him on the roster? I was looking forward to seeing if he was as good as advertised.
  11. Did not play in Arizona. Came to Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria, California fall of 2008. Played both years there and got his AA. Standout on the field and off. Will he see the field in 2010? Or redshirt?
  12. Magrell quit on the Zips... then transferred to K.e.n.t.... and quit there. I think Patrick Nicely will throw for roughly 9,000 more yards in his career when compared to Magrell. We're on the same page regarding iCoach -- WAY too much talent on this team to win 2...3...or 4 games. I'd even say 5, but I guess it would need to take into account how the 7 games were lost, and how the team progressed from beginning-to-end of the season. I still say, with our schedule & talent, 6 wins should be the minimum total to consider it a positive season. 6 ain't great... but it's a number the football team hasn't reached in a while. I'd take it.
  13. It is pretty simple -- You directly called someone a "moron" on our board. You then chastised me for name-calling. That is being a hypocrite. It is, in fact, the text-book definition. If you backed off after someone called you out, it doesn't erase your action, or erase the insight into the root of the comment's intent. Also - I called no one an "idiot." Read my post. My text is very clear for all who can read - I stated (summary): ..."anyone who thinks I (CK) am blaming Gerry Faust for the lack of training facilities, or the delapidated Rubber Bowl, is an idiot." That is WAY different than calling someone an idiot. Did I call you "Shallow Puddle?" Yes. If you want to give some 3rd grade level mocking of my board name, then I can certainly follow suit. You set the tone. I'm happy to follow, if that is how you want to roll. Your advice on how to conduct myself on ZN is much appreciated. However, a guy with 28 posts telling someone who: 1.) Founded ZipsNation (along with a few others) 2.) Funds ZipsNation 3.) Has 5,500 posts on ZipsNation how he should conduct him/herself on ZN is pretty egotistical. My advice to YOU, should you want to continue posting on ZN, is as follows - 1.) Stop YOUR name-calling, and 3rd Grade BS 2.) Stop YOUR commentary on any aspect of my, or any other member's, personal life This board was created to discuss Zips athletics. Period. The Moderators here do not have time to deal with your behavior, and will not tolerate it.
  14. Wow... the kid chose YSU over Akron or Ken.t because YSU was closer? Does his mom still hold his hand when he crosses the street?
  15. Hey Shallow Puddle -- Google "Bob Keeshan." The Zips mascot is Zippy...it's a kangaroo. Get it? Aren't you the same guy that called someone a "moron" the other day? Now you preach about talking down to people? You crack me up. What a hypocrite. LOL...OMG...PBR.
  16. Still waters run deep. Dark waters... apparently not so deep.
  17. Again I ask: What if Rodgers gets the starting spot? Well that doesn't fit into your Ianello is rebuilding concept. Rodgers is a Junior now. The question you should be asking is "What if Zach D'orazio gets the starting spot?" Won't have to worry about that: http://www.cleveland.com/sports/college/in...mple_expec.html "Open season: First-year Akron coach Rob Ianello said he expects a heated competition for the starting QB job between sophomore incumbent Patrick Nicely and the player he replaced because of injury, Matt Rodgers. The junior missed the second half of last season and much of the spring because of knee injuries. 'He [Rodgers] feels very comfortable,' Ianello said. 'No limitations. He's ready to go.' If Ianello tells Rodgers that he's going to warm the bench for the Zips in 2010, he runs the risk that Rodgers will transfer. If he keeps the alleged QB competition running throughout the summer, Rodgers has a better chance of staying (where's he going to transfer in September, after all teams have concluded their camp, and expect to start?). Rodgers is a valuable back up. Nicely is the starter.
  18. Beats me. Tell me who you're referencing? I said I expect the Zips to go 6-6, or better. I always enjoy the poster who fabricates hyperbole. No one stated the Zips should be considered favorites to win a championship. Some ZN members have simply stated the team left for Ianello has some excellent talent. And feel, in a MAC East Division that can hardly be confused with the SEC, if RI is any sort of a decent coach, he can win a respectable amount of games fairly soon. Reading the comments regarding the upcoming season, it heartens me to see that the posters whom I feel have a good knowledge of the program feel that 2010 can be successful for the Zips based upon the returning talent, and our MAC schedule. It further heartens me to see the ones who don't feel the season will be successful (success defined by a .500 record or better in year #1) are either some of our weaker posters, or ones that tycially have a "sky is falling" attitude about everything. RI is the wildcard in whether or not the Zips can go .500, not the talent on the field. And other than stereotypes, there's no tangible evidence that he can, or cannot coach. Nice to hear you are satified with your wife, daughter, job, friends, family achievements and more. I am also satisfied with my wife, son, job, friends, family achievements and more. Of course, that's not all too interesting to ZN members, so I will stick to discussions regarding Zips athletics. I hope your glaucoma brings you a lot of medical marajuana out in Cali, and it gets you through the football season.
  19. I know you are out in California, so you can't follow the team all that well. The quarterback I'm speaking about is Patrick Nicely. He's very good. Here is a link where you can learn more about Patrick I'm always happy to help out those who are a little less-versed on the Zips program.
  20. Low expectations are for losers. I want to win. We have one of the top QB's in the MAC, and the MAC is a QB-driven league. I don't know what to expect from the Zips in 2010, but I certainly expect a team with 16 returning starters to compete well. Ianello didn't take over a team bereft of talent, like Lee Owens did after Faust. Ianello is taking over a pretty decent group of players. The Zips should at least be 6-6 this season. New coach, new offensive and defensive schemes...3 BCS OOC's. I don't expect 10 - 2. But another 3 - 9 or 4 - 8 season is out of the question. Don't let any low-aimer fool you... we have more talent than that on-hand. That would be incorrect. Gerry's last team was loaded freshman and sophomores. And Lee has 14 returning starters for his first season, including a freshman QB with several games of experience. You can verify that if you have a game program from that season. You can verify your assessment... if you have a crack pipe. Gerry Faust left Lee Owens with a team that went 1 - 10. The lone win came in the last game of the season, against a likewise 0 - 10 Ohio University team, in the legendary Toilet Bowl. The Zips were an eyelash away from being the worst team is Division 1-A football. The Gerry Faust* era left Owens with horrific training facilities. The Gerry Faust* era left Owens with a decrepit Rubber Bowl. The Gerry Faust era left Owens with NO Quarterback. Lee Owens got nothing from The Gerry Faust era except a legacy of arrests.... and those players who didn't get arrested would not have made YSU's roster. Ianello has AWESOME facilities. An AWESOME stadium. A roster of legit MAC-level players. A REAL Quarterback. Ianello has so many advantages in year #1 vs. what Owens had to deal with in Year #1, it is absolutely unreal. Oh, BTW - You can verify my comments with reality. * If you read into my statements that I am blaming Faust for the Rubber Bowl or the crappy training facilities, you are an idiot. Save us all your wisdom, move away from the keyboard, and go back to cutting construction paper with your plastic, rounded-tip scissors. If being an idiot is pointing out that a statement made by a poster is factually incorrect, then I am an idiot. I did check it, and it is correct. You may return to resorting to ranting and name calling any time you like. The floor is yours -- Tell me who this great quarterback that Faust left Owens was? You can't do it. Because he doesn't exist. Why did Owens burn Gromek's (Fr. QB) redshirt with 4 games remaining in the season? Because the tripe Faust left him at QB had no business playing any football at Akron, aside from intramural. Tell me how the 1-10 team that Owens took over, with a 17% graduation rate, with commonplace player arrests, was better than what Brookhart left Owens. You can't do it. Because it isn't true. You say you checked things out. That's a hollow statement. Back it up with something. I laid out facts. That has substance. BTW - I didn't call you an idiot in my post. I only called people who can't read idiots. Just like the idiot who is thinking about posting "But Faust left Owens with Jason Taylor." So for that guy I say - Hey idiot...K.e.n.t. had James Harrison. If the other 23 guys suck, one NFL All Pro on defense ain't gonna help.

  23. ...dead last in the MAC East?! Thankfully, he's been wrong before. (blind guy)
  24. I'd like to nominate 'the Kid' for Giving up on the Zips Hall of Fame. In my humble opinion his performance over the last 6 months has pushed him right to the top. Who is "the Kid" ? Zach used to be UAkronkid and had a habit of saying so much stupid stuff people made fun of him a lot. So he reinvented himself as Zach and stopped saying stupid stuff for a while. He did?
