  1. I'd say we got the deeper team, lets hope Temple's legs give out!
  2. You mean the one where he comes off a screen and launches it?
  3. I agree, I had thought the team might have packed it in.
  4. Its a coming out party for Quade!
  5. I love it!
  6. That last turnover is was big.
  7. In a game like this French would give me an ulcer!
  8. Man I wish this game was on the tube!
  9. 6 minutes to go....crunch time!
  10. Zips showing heart right now....come on Zips!
  11. Milum reminds me of George Phillips.
  12. DP is playing great (from what I can tell from the #'s anyway)! We need another guy to step up and give us some offense!
  13. Down by 8 at the half..... could it be the turnover ratio (Zips 7 Temple 1)??????? Come on ZIps, take care of the ball! WE lead in every other category.
  14. Mike, you were the first person to listen to the fans who cared. And not only did you listen, you acted. Your work at Akron gets high marks with me.....job well done!
  15. The boys can either take their aggression out on the owls.....or fold and 'wait till next year.' They talked all year about goals and getting monkey's off their back.....winning this game would get a monkey off their back!
  16. True, Can't will stomp Toledo, as we should have!
  17. I for the life of me can't figure out how we lost this game?Complete shock right now.....
  18. I've been worried about this since we wrapped up the bye. A week off is good and bad. Sure the rest will help, but my fear is the legs and 'game" will become stale. The regular season calls for play at least every 3-4 days. This will be a 4/5 day layover.I can only assume that KD will account for this and will play these guys hard in practice throug tuesday and mentally prepare from there.
  19. Thanks Fear the Roo. I know its a tough job but those guys yesterday were IMO, really bad. I think Chryst needs to look into MAC refs and how they stack up against other conferences. This will likely include watching tape and comparing stats (ie # of fouls per game). MAC basketball is a product. The quality of the product depends on the players and refs. If MAC refs are subpar, they need to look for better.
  20. Liljc - I couldn't agree more, that was the worst officiated game I have ever seen in the JAR.Fear the Roo - I enjoyed your post and insight. Since you are a college ref, can you give me your input on this? Why does it seem like there are more fouls called at critical points in the game in the MAC than other conferences? It just seems like MAC games don't "FLOW." Its up the court.....foul.......down the court.......foul.....timeout..........inbounds.........foul........etc. What gives? Is it bad play, bad players, what? The other thing that drove me nuts was the refs constantly talking to the players telling them to calm down. I didn't see tempers flaring and even if they were.....ITS A RIVALRY FOR PETE'S SAKE! The ref's acted like they were officiating a playground game...not a game between the top 2 teams in the MAC playing in the biggest regular season game of the year.Too me, the refs should not be bigger than the game and the players, and MAC refs constantly are.
  21. He was ejected for throwing an elbow at a Can't player.
  22. That was one of the worst officiated games I have ever seen. The refs completely hijacked the game every time it got exciting. I have never seen so many away from the ball fouls, traveling calls, or flat out stupid calls that should have been "no calls." Both Can't and Akron were equally screwed, but not as much as the fans who had to sit through a game that was 85% dominated by the refs!
  23. MAC1. Can't2. Miami3. BG4. Akron4. Toledo5. Been in convo, but not for a gameNon-MAC arena's (not in any particular order)XavierMarshallYSUOSUCedarvilleMarietta
  24. I agree, a non-UA friend actually called me and thought we got a new arena. He thought the place looked big! I think the edge lines and key not being painted makes it look bigger.
  25. Ohio University, what a fine institution of intelligent, HONEST students ATHENS, Ohio (AP) -- Imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery, but, if you're writing a thesis, it might not be such a good idea.Officials at Ohio University are reviewing 44 potential cases of plagiarism in the Russ College of Engineering and Technology.Dean Dennis Irwin is letting students and faculty members know just how important academic honesty is as the university looks into the possible plagiarism on master's theses. The school may require some students to resubmit their work or change topics. For more serious cases, students may have delayed graduation and graduates could have their degrees revoked. The university now requires students to submit thesis work electronically. That enables officials to more easily identify plagiarism.© 2006 The Associated Press
