Ohio University, what a fine institution of intelligent, HONEST students ATHENS, Ohio (AP) -- Imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery, but, if you're writing a thesis, it might not be such a good idea.Officials at Ohio University are reviewing 44 potential cases of plagiarism in the Russ College of Engineering and Technology.Dean Dennis Irwin is letting students and faculty members know just how important academic honesty is as the university looks into the possible plagiarism on master's theses.The school may require some students to resubmit their work or change topics.For more serious cases, students may have delayed graduation and graduates could have their degrees revoked.The university now requires students to submit thesis work electronically.That enables officials to more easily identify plagiarism.© 2006 The Associated Press
