ok, i was too critical of the team. i watched the tape 4 times. pissing down their legs and embarrassing themselves was too harsh. mental mistakes and breakdowns were there and had they not had those, we hang with penn state easily. very nice effort, especially by the d-line. JD is certainly no idot. just thought the team's breakdowns in the first half made them look like a poorly coached team which i know they are not. i'll take JD and this team any day.

that extra point looked good to you? i wouldn't say either young guy played great but it was a first game for both. a first game vs. penn state, at that. both will settle down and be fine.

at first i was critical of andy alleman. he had a penalty for roughness that killed a drive. after watching the tape of the game, i have to say, he played one helluva game. very physical and did a nice job going after linebackers. kemme looked pretty good as usual. this was a tough opener for the 0-line and i think things will get better. we won't face a front 7 like this again this year. i don't know if crouch got pulled or had an injury but either way, it didn't hurt us to not have him in there.

i agree. the season is far from lost and this is just one game. there will be much improvement.

enough about the weather. it wasn't a monsoon and penn state played in the same conditions. we had too many mental mistakes to be able to even think about beating that team. we needed to play perfectly and played far from it. no doubt in my mind there will be adjustments next week and we'll play much better. i'm not looking for anyone to be fired. i think the team is too well coached to have that many mental mistakes and no doubt these will be corrected this week. the zips played much better than previous years but far from their potential today, which at the same time dissapoints me and encourages me. there will be many better days this year.

i know w're a better coached team than this. they're making JD look like an idiot. getting beaten is one thing but to piss down your leg is another. maybe they'll get their heads out of their asses in the second half.

crouch can't move . good to see they moved the best o-lineman, kemme, to left tackle and put the second best, schepp, on the right tackle. the o-line's mistakes are killing us.

i love charlie but hate the browns system. i'm hoping they are hiding everything in their playbook for the regular season but something tells me this is about as good as it gets. i'm happy we can see charlie every week since he is playing for the browns but i hate that we're going to see him get beat up. losing bentley is crushing and keeping carthon is painful........ getsy has potential but is not better than charlie or mike johnson yet. one up and down year in 2005 doesn't make his 2006 season automatic. i'm thinking he's going to have an awesome 2006, then we can see where he ranks with frye and johnson. i'm hoping he turns out to be the best ever.

the lizard is cool but i'm leaning towards panini's. a beer stained college bar full of loud drunk zip fans and hopefully drunker coeds is just what i need for spirit. call me the godfather but i wanna go old school and hang with the drunks and maybe go streaking in the quad (if we had one) after we shock the world.

don't forget that unfortunately ohio state plays at the same time as the zips.....is any place going to have the zips on the big screen and not ohio state? i mean asides from my basement.

season tickets.....as of last week i heard 1,200 season ticket holders...multiplied by 5 games, 6,000 tickets total. i can't say for sure but it was from a pretty reliable source. seems pretty low to me. actually, damned low.

we can win or lose any game this season. take no game forgrantend. we are Can't's biggest game of the season since minnesota wiping them out is a given.

our speed coach,lashaunte edwards, is no one to overlook. he ran a 10.23 100m and a 20.34 200m, both of which are school records. he holds 5 other school records. as a track coach he does a great job with our sprinters. he may be no butch reynolds, but very few people are. i'm more than happy having him coaching the sprinters and football team.
