In my opinion, it is an oversite by the department of athletics or as the regular folk say, athletic department, to schedule these events on the same day. As a now former tailgater, these two events would definately overlap causing neither of them to reach their full potential. Unless you're the type that doesn't help with the tailgate, it takes a lot of time to get everything setup to enjoy a couple of hours before needing to tear down. For those of us critical of the BJ, the new managing editor has asked for advise on what we want the paper to cover. So far the sports editor will expand coverage of high school sports.
