If you don't mind me saying, I thought it was funny and I hadn't seen it.

Well done.

We'll see what happens the rest of the year, but his first effort this year was dismal. He can't move his feet and if they put their quick ends over crouch, Getsy is in for a long season. They list him as 300 ponds. He looks more like 350. I agree with the podcast. They were better off without him. Kemme is a stud lineman and did a good job at left tackle.

This would make sense. There is an Ashtabula campus of k ent st. Perhaps the rowdies could be introduced this year as an Ashtabula fan club.

Clever and funny too!

And apparently true. I looked at the administration page and barney rubble's mug is still posted there.

http://www.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/powergrid/Updated power rankings by conference. We didn't win any marquee matchups, but it says we're closing in on Mountain West.

I was a bit worried when they built the fieldhouse. Having witnessed the talk and then the results of the jar, left me concerned about the final results. That is a fantastic facility, and I'm confident they will build a stadium we will all be proud of. The envy factor doesn't hurt.

You need some new friends. It's a lot more fun out of the pen.

As excited as I was for Akron to win the MAC championship, we need to dominate the league before we move on. It was the closest finnish in some time to determine which team advanced to the championship game. One championship doesn't make a great team and Can't isn't the only team in the league.

You might want to proof your comments before hitting the add reply button. This makes no sense. We look at what the mac report wants to say about the games played and react to it. It's not up to you to tell us what to think or do. My opinion of Akron's performance is one that the offense struggled and also stopped themselves. I'm not upset that Luke wasn't on the list. I never said anything about it. The problem I have with the report is not mentioning any performance on the defensive side of the ball. The defense was outstanding with the exception of a couple plays. I believe Garrett Wolfe was hands down the best player on offense. What impact on offense did the two K-ent St. players have in a 0 offensive scoring explosion? What impact are you referring to with regard to the two k-ent players. When you go to the defensive side, you can make a case for the two K-ent players keeping the score down to only 44-0. They had an awful lot of tackles. You seem a bit sensitive here. I hope the mac report continues to post and cover the mac since other outlets fail miserably. I like to see what others think too, but that doesn't mean i can't comment on it. Does it???

I love the way the MAC report determines they have done a good job when they are criticized. Cracks me up to see it! If you think you're doing a good job, there is clearly no need for you to defend it on you know who's board. Because you know who doesn't care what you think. Report what you want and be done with it. I'm not even sure what this defense means. We do the nominating and therefore we are right? We nominate and then pick some of them? No need to respond to the questions. I'm sure you're right!

I feel better that your unbiased assessment was that you "did a pretty solid job this week". The Akron defense held PSU to 282 total yards. The 76 net rushing yards on 27 attempts included one 42 yard run and one 19 yard run. That leaves 15 yards on 25 attempts. Obviously no one should merit a mention because Akron used smoke and mirrors to stop the PSU running game. You've made your case and I can see you've done your homework. You are spot on. Well done!

No. Why would they change?

Our punter had an ok game, but he did not cleanly catch the snap at least twice. The field goal was a nice surprise and the extra points should improve as the season unfolds. The special teams though did not have a good game as a whole. Missed tackles, fumbles and what was Tuzze thinking on the kickoff. He shouldn't even have caught that ball and after he did he stopped. All of these problem areas can be improved quickly and I'm sure this weeks practice will feature special teams work.

What a joke. 63-3 if Joe lets them play. The score will be over 70 whether Joe lets them play or not. Maybe Akron will be able to score. Either way, it is an "abject beat-down". A few selected quotes from others at PSU. Hunt didn't run over us, Joe didn't pull his starters and the wild blowout predictions didn't come true. With a little more discipline and tighter pass defense, the game could have been much more interesting from our perspective. Good win to PSU. We needed to not have many miscues and didn't succeed in that department.

I didn't take the pledge. I don't know why crouch was removed for sure, but he was awful. He can't or won't move his feet. For all those who say it's one game, I've been watching him throughout his Akron career and he has gotten worse each year. I don't see the preseason accolades for him and if he's not missing a block, he's being flagged for__________ (fill in the blank). Kemme did a nice job at left tackle and we can use Schepp and some more of our stud linemen from last years class to fill out the line. The defense did a nice job considering the short field Penn St. had to work with throughout the game. The secondary needs to tighten up their drops and we need a little more discipline in staying in position both on d and special teams. The success of the team is dependent on them not hurting themselves with costly penalties, turnovers, and poor play. I don't think they played like a veteran team today. I'm sure they'll get after it in practice and I hope they look better at NC St.

If he could just find out if what happened to the strawberries. What happened to the strawberries. It was a duplicate key! Someone has a duplicate key and replaced his football team with a half empty tin of strawberries!!! Well done coach. Keep juggling those marbles in your head. He should make coach of the year for sure.

Is the MAC tougher than most think?
UADavid replied to Ryno aka Menace's topic in Akron Zips Football

So, you're saying the problem is the Browns?? I would agree with that. They have no o-line and I just don't think carthon is up to the task of running an offense. They won't even let him check plays at the line. Another poster thinks carthon is a changed man. I hope that's true. Has anyone heard anything about Charlie's throwing hand? I think he hit a helmet again.
-
As of today the accomplishments of Charlie Frye during his years at UA easily make him the best QB in the history of the Zips. That in no way diminishes the accomplishments of Luke Getsy last year. We'll see what kind of year he and the team have and I may alter my opinion of the best QB. Mike Johnson??? Not even close. And I thought he was a very good QB. Come on now, what is your beef with Charlie. This is at least the second shot you've taken at him on this board.
-
The whole team has to execute and they didn't come close. Looked like Charlie might have hurt his hand on a pass play where the whole d-line was in the backfield. Of course a no back set! I think he hit a helmet releasing the ball. They must not like him.

A tough loss for toledo. They were right there ready to take the win. Pass defense let them down at the end. That toledo TE and QB had a heck of a game. 45-43 final

Do they have to go for two in 3 ot?
