  1. Which one of these stations is the one where Harry Carey sings "Take Me Out to the Ball Game"? CBS found some real doozies to work with. I suppose in honor of St Patrick's Day they'll have that commercial I see on FSC for Pennytalk. The one where the redheaded kid says in an Irish brogue, "I taught my bruh-ther in Mexico how to take a penalty kick". Aye mighty.
  2. I'm sure they will. When I was out in Portland they had a couple designs with all of the schools on it and one shirt for each school as well. I think that's pretty standard. I called the bookstore today. The shirts are supposed to be in on Tuesday -- but they don't know yet what they will look like. Hey -- that sounds like the Athletic Dept talkin'.
  3. Yes! I think that everyone on the Earth now knows that Akron and Can't are exactly fourteen miles apart. I thought the team that did last weekend's ESPN game were much better. Kara Lawson really did her homework. Would like to hear her do more games. Geno Auriemma teaches 'em right. But, hey at least it wasn't Chones and Reghi, JC don'know what town he's even in man.
  4. Thanks Big Mike! See you in September.
  5. How is that good news? Where are the guys from Jar State? They got shafted, while Miami makes it with a .500 record.
  6. You guys realize what this means -- We (and the Flushes) have to suffer through another year (or years) of Geno Ford. If they had won, the guy would be checking his phone for messages from out-of-town suitors. Another K.S.U. coach to Arkansas?
  7. OMG! "Tonight we are attending a La Liga match. Getafe vs Athletic Bilbao." I envy you Zips. Eupa! Viva Llorente! Cheer on the Zurigorri to Victory!!!
  8. Yes! It appears I will be able (with boss's disapproval) to watch the entire game, without the standard "look-in"/"now we take you back to Tucson for the big Bucknell bombshell" CBS job. So, maybe there is something positive about the new TV contract. If only we could get this type deal for Major League Soccer! We could watch every (ex-) Zip's game Oh...Here is the full broadcast schedule for the first round games. BTW -- What the Heck is Tru-TV???
  9. Also, was Keith on ESPNU yet today? They're supposed to interview every coach in the tournament.
  10. Do we know yet what is the game time -- it's Friday, correct? What network? -- I hope it's one I can get here. I just hope it's not a 6 a.m. game! But, then again, I won't be THAT late for work if it is! Unless we win, in which case, I will call in "sick". As in good sick. OK?
  11. The bookstore is selling them -- at least I got an e-mail from Barbes and Noble to buy. Can anyone tell me -- are these "Akron specific" (has Akron and logo featured) or is it the generic tournament T-shirt with all 68 (or whatever the # is now) teams? I'll probably just call the bookstore.
  12. GP1 goes to church? Who'd of thunk it? From now on, I am staying close to the outside walls. +++
  13. Nice subtle confidence, if the Zips end up as a 14, they can go to DC (please, please, please), Chicago, Tampa or Tucson. 15 seed would mean Charlotte, Tulsa or Denver. Isn't there a regional in Spokane? Please! I'm boycotting AZ.
  14. I wish you were right, but do you really think that having wins over teams ahead of us in the standings outweighs the fact that we finished behind them in the standings? I really think our hopes rest solely on whether someone thinks that half of the teams in the MAC deserve post-season bids. I think that the selection commitees look at overall record as much as, if not more than conference record. 21 D-1 wins would be tops in the MAC of all teams not in the NCAA if we were to lose the title game. I also thinl one of the absolute largest factors is record down the stretch, so with a loss in Cleveland Saturday, Akron would still be 9-3 in their last 12. How many mid-majors with 20+ wins and not in the NCAA or NIT can say that? At tis point, though, I don't even want to say much more on this. Just win Saturday and none of this matters, at least not this year. Frankly, I don't think the NIT is out of the question even at 22-13. There just aren't that many good teams left over. Hopefully, we will NOT have to find out late Sunday night!
  15. What Jim Tressel did he did out of love! He did it to protect the honor of THE Ohio State University. The same way Jack Abramoff did his deed to protect the honor of the political PR profession, and those Indian tribes (the ones he wasn't screwing behind their backs), and the honor of the GOP. Sorry. I can say Jim Tressel is a fine man, and an excellent tennis partner. Sorry for the poaching, man. Enjoy the NFL.
  16. My favorite line: Oh well, go hockey!
  17. No way. Need to win the MAC to extend the season. He didn't say the Big Dance. Did anyone think our defense was a tad less effective in the second half compared to the first? I doubt many on here (e.g., AZ 71) care about anything less than that Big Dance thing. However, I agree that the team should definitely be in SOMETHING now. With so many teams in the post-season (120+) you would think any mid-major with 20 wins would have it made. Shrug.
  18. Yes!!!!!!!!! 80-75! And WMU is ecstatic!
  19. Yes!!!!!!!!! 80-75!
  20. Muchas gracias, Rico!
  21. I DO!!! You need to score mor3 points! If Akron wins. Ditzen goes surfin' after. Bump!
  22. I DO!!! You need to score mor3 points!
  23. Does anyone want to win this game?
  24. Thanks Dude! That helped break up the pressure.
  25. Q_Diggs may have redeemed The Great One. Akron by 1.
