  1. sure it's not Harvey?
  2. Am I the only one getting sick of playing Army? Isn't this 3 years in a row?yeah, they're joining the MAC East
  3. (whispers) ***** I think it was supposed to be an anti-jinx post. *************
  4. Just to clarify, I meant against Butler, not CSU. However, I wouldn't be opposed to having CSU on our OOC schedule, especially with the turnaround Gary Waters has done.
  5. I do agree we should be able to get the lower student sections full. Even though there are thousands of students on campus, many of them do go home for the weekend, so I don't know how may are actually on campus then, but again, there should be enough to fill just the lower sections.
  6. Bogus... they've got Miami playing OU. They've got Can't playing Butler... after what Cleveland St did to them, I'd like to see what UA could do there too. We'll just have to wait for the real announcement later.
  7. I like parking in that deck and eating at the Chophouse also. The museum looks better from High St IMHO. There's ALWAYS a line at Luigi's. Other nice places to check out in that area are the glass blowing at the gallery across the streed from Luigi's (Saturday evenings, I think), and Crave. There's a few other places in the area there (Mocha Maiden, Northside Grille, Vegeterrean, and a few other galleries), but I haven't been to them yet so I can't recommend or not. On the other end of downtown, try the Hunan restaurant on Exchange near Canal Park (next to where the new student apts are going in) and Spaghetti Warehouse near the Gojo and AES buildings on Main.
  8. If (when) we win the tournament and go dancing, what are the chances that Can't, Miami, or OU getting a bid since their SOS and RPI are pretty good?If the East could just ceceed from from the West...
  9. chance to play now vs sitting probably had some influence
  10. Ditto! I think it was great that he let everyone there know about the streak. I'm sure many of the freshmen and visitors were unaware of it.
  11. Me too (Solon). Wonder if they'd take the show on the road?
  12. Defensively, I thought Bardo did a pretty good job when he was in. He needed to be a bit more agressive on the offensive end though. Nice minutes for Roberts too. Ced's knees must really be catching up with him. Thought they did a bit better when they were able to get the tempo up. Conyers should stick to driving the lane vs shooting j's - at least he'd have a chance to draw a foul. Crowd was loud, but still too many empty seats in the lower bowl - why do they continue to go unused?
  13. but it was "Old Milwaukee"
  14. Tough to read... some of the "it" should be "he". If I read it correctly, he was allowed to be late reporting for practice by one day because of issues with "university examinations"... was he finishing classes here?
  15. (translation by Alta Vista)
  16. I can remember on occasion playing for pep rallies outside the student center near "the rock", but they were way too infrequent to become a tradition.
  17. Yahoo has us as 7.5 pt fav's.Zips win 85-79 but Bubba still only has 1 pt.
  18. There sure were lots of people at the art museum last Saturday! Had to wait to get in to the exhibit!1. Where should the Mayflower residents go?2. The Metro lineup should be solved when the new bus terminal is completed and the lineup moves south of Gojo.3. The chain restaurants are not in downtown, and I think that's OK. I'd like to see more small restaurants like Crave, Big City Chophouse, Bricco, etc. They usually have better food. There is some entertainment downtown (arts, sports, towpath, museums, etc.), but no movie theatres. I still can't figure out what everyone means when they say there's no entertainment there. Other than UA bookstore, Quaker and the Canal Park store, you seem to be correct that there isn't much shopping there. With all the students in the new Main St. apts/dorms, Quaker dorms, Northside Lofts, and now this new proposed development, I would think shops would start to think about locating downtown.
  19. Sounds like he could be the next Wood... "I just go get it (the ball)"
  20. Pretty close to the center of downtown and would be walking distance to Canal Park (and the arena concept site), library, restaurants on Market or Exchange, Lock 3, not to mention a front row seat to the fireworks!
  21. They gave my son a nice whoopin' of Miami for his 18th, and I'm hopin' for another whoopin' of BG on Sunday for mine.
  22. I agree that the football games should all be Saturday. I don't make it for games after work on a weekday mostly because I work in Cuyahoga Co. and don't get home until after 6. By the time I'd get changed and get there, it would be halftime or later (maybe it would be more possible at the new stadium, but that's a few years off). I don't really care what time on Saturday (warmer for afternoon games, but you can have fireworks for night games), but lets go back to weekend games.I don't think it messes up the basketball season as much because we are all used to games on weeknights already and there is no tailgating taking place.
  23. BE THERE AND BE LOUD!!!
  24. Central Ohio.com story - click here
  25. It appears something is happening to one of the buildings where the downtown arena was projected to be. The facia bricks have been removed as if they are getting ready to repair the building. That could be bad for the arena plans, but on the other hand, I always like to see progress downtown.
