That might be interesting... I was impressed with Bardo's D when he had to come out to the 3-line by himself on EMU's G on a switch-off. He seems pretty quick for a guy his size.

My son and I stopped in at Scorchers on Waterloo Road for lunch yesterday (Super Bowl Sunday) to check it out and get our Nick Goddard "free wings." Had a very nice conversation with Randy, owner of the place. 1986 alum and BIG Zips fan. Does a LOT of the catering if not all of it for the men's basketball program (Dambrot is superstitious and Randy is his guy). Lots of TVs, a bar, plenty of seating, and access to pretty much everything except Time Warner (i.e. when TW picked up the Akron @ Can't game the other night). Has Can't and Akron football helmets on the wall knocking into each other and respective jerseys on either side of them. Also has tosu jersey, missing MEE-chigan jersey ("no-show" at tosu/Michigan football games), Browns, and Steeler jerseys on the wall as well. I realize it's off-campus but keep it in mind if you're looking for an Akron-friendly establishment and a means to get there.Maybe he'd be interested in moving into one of the downtown spots?

I agree that better seating and a larger arena would increase our attendance. The Can't games and the old CSU games show that we could increase our overall attendance just from the increased capacity for the local rivalry games. I'm undecided on whether on-campus or off-campus (downtown) is better. On campus keeps the students close, but then again, there are many students near the downtown concept arena location.

Turning point in the game in my opinion was the two possessions in the first half when KD had them switch to a 1-3-1 zone with Bardo and Wood in. It really seemed to upset Toledo's guards and kept them from penetrating resulting in bad shots that didn't connect. The offensive end seemed to get back on track after that defensive boost.

Are you forgetting that Bardo and McNees were 2006? Both redshirted and so far both are contributing some. I expect they will contribute even more next year as sophomores.

Any info if they are looking at Gerald Nixon (CB 5-11/180/4.46 New Albany HS OH)? I know he had Akron on his list because he wanted to play right away.

Not a true tree-hugger, just an avid gardener. It's just that they are buying shrubs and trees for elswhere on campus... it'd be nice to be able to save some $$ by using what they have already to spruce up an area for less.

It'd be nice if they could salvage the trees for elsewhere on campus.
