South Dakota State just beat Wichita State by 10, in Wichita. Wichita State was 7-2, with losses to Mizzouri, Liberty, and now South Dakota State. South Dakota State improves to 5-5. Their losses include Akron, Kansas State, UCF (by 3), George Mason (by 2), and PCCC (by 9). They've beaten 2 non-D1 schools, Southern Miss (by 11 - @ Southern Miss), and now Wichita State. Good road win by Akron to start the season.

The Suckeyes could be #1 and undefeated, and their fans still wouldn't give a damn about their basketball program. That's a football-only fan base unless it's March and they have to care about CBB. Insufferable fan base. Nope. Don't like that.

Not many games we'll win where we lose both the turnover & rebound battle, and give up 30, 20, and 10 to 3 of the opponents' players. Wow.

Ali Ali was practicing with the team this entire time. Two things... 1) That should allow for a pretty seamless transition with him in actual game play. 2) I wonder how much of our offensive woes in our losses are predicated around not exactly knowing how to play without Ali.

I think what Ali Ali will unlock for the offense is taking the pressure off the guards. It's well documented my frustrations with Ali Ali's involvement in our offense in 2021-22; stagnant, little ball movement, and wasted possessions. That offense had a tremendous PG in X2.0 that this offense lacks. That offense didn't need the Ali Ali iso game. This offense actually might, at least for the time being. The ability to self-create takes the pressure off the floor general. We might see Scott, Thornton, and even Tavari play better knowing they don't have to be a go to scorer or facilitate open shots as much. Looking forward to tomorrow night.
