  1. No. Just because this program since Bowden has been hot garbage, it doesn't mean staying with Bowden was the answer. How do we find a Sean Lewis?
  2. Joe Arth is real.
  3. I'm starting to really struggle with the "offensive genius" of JoeMo. We ask our QBs to make the most difficult throws in football WAY too often. He is allergic to calling pass plays over the middle.
  4. Never. Attempt. A. FG. Again.
  5. Don't ask questions. Just be happy common sense is being applied.
  6. Bullock.
  7. Did DePaul play with their entire team, bench, and coaching staff in the box the entire game?
  8. That's a pretty big swing, especially for an underdog like Akron. Points to a key position, like QB. Bullock time...?
  9. Did Vegas get word of these rumblings? DK was over +200 yesterday. +170 today.
  10. Stefanski would have a conniption. If Tahj starts, I'm all in again.
  11. If this is true - oh my. This is part of the reason the fat will get trimmed in these conferences, and the bottom portions of the current power conferences will end up at the G5 level. The G5s will be kept around to supplement "easy" W's for the remaining power conference schools as their conference schedules become legitimate gauntlets.
  12. Is Shokalook the best goal scorer we've ever had?
  13. Am I correct that this is Underthrower's last year of eligibility? If that's the case, with the way this season has started, we need to turn to Bullock, Wasel, Jankowski, or Jennings. Let's get these guys real game experience and prepped for next year. Gotta figure out what we have in those 3.
  14. Salt in the wound after watching Stefanski put his Wish.com-purchased Ivy League degree to good use...
  15. Yeah it's not very difficult. The little things aren't being done, and the creativity isn't there to put butts in seats even with a losing program. Kent had 13,000 at their game and they blow. Akron had 5,000. There are ways to get the fans to feel like their part of the program without a winning product on the field. Akron attire is entirely too expensive as well. It's embarrassing what they charge for their gear in the team shop. The program became stagnant, had discipline issues, and the offense wasn't much better in year 7 of Bowden than what we're witnessing in year 2 with JoeMo. Bowden never got rid of Milwee, so Akron got rid of Bowden.
  16. This is so damn true. The combination of the Catalina Wine Mixer atmosphere (suits walking around shaking hands, kissing babies) combined with a Rick Pitino recruiting trip (night club music constantly played) is not a good mix for a college football gameday. The stadium announcer continues to be awful. The marketing is stale. And the football is awful. I've been quite complimentary of Guthrie up to this point, but he is missing some key details to elevate the Akron experience.
  17. 6'5" SG from Cincy Moeller. Not seeing other offers. Looks pretty athletic. Also looks taller/longer than 6'5".
  18. Any possibility for Fessler to take over play calling?
  19. I was busy chasing my two girls around the game, and didn't get a chance to post about this. That was a BS penalty. The QB had slipped and tried to keep his body up. He was down but nearly impossible to see as a player in the moment. It was pretty bang bang, too.
  20. He didn't block anyone. Not sure what rule that is in the book, but it's inexcusable. Sad to hear about Irons. @LZIp nailed it. Polarizing play but always gave it his all. Give me Bullock ROS.
  21. This is where I'm at, plus a little more. We have Irons, Undercuffler, Bullock, Jennings, and Wasel on the staff. Irons isn't moving the offense. Fine. Undercuffler isn't moving the offense. Fine. Why not run with Bullock/Jennings/Wasel? Joe likes Irons (may be his demise). Fine. How can we make Irons more effective? An offensive genius has to be able to scheme guys open and fit the play calling to his personnel. Irons has a big arm, so why not take a few more deep shots, especially with post patterns? On shorter throws, why not more over the middle throws with shorter quicker crossing routes? Irons can run, but defenses know that. Why not get the RBs going in space outside of the tackles to help open the game up? Do we have speed on this roster? Where is it and why aren't we using it? Can't attract talent now? Fine. But what's going to change if this is what we are getting with the "offensive genius"? This offense is a 100 year old machine that has sat out in the elements and never been maintained. Everything is grinding and difficult to move; nothing is smooth. With the transfer portal opening up college athletics, the talent we have may not even stay. Might as well figure out what we have and try to benefit from it while we have it. If Joe doesn't like certain things as a Head Coach, he needs to find someone to handle those things properly or not be a Head Coach in the first place. This is complete garbage and inexcusable.
  22. First thought before the snap, "And it's blocked." Joe Arth. I'm done.
  23. If the field was 120 yards long, you might've had a chance. What an awful throw.
  24. Joe Arth until further notice. Much better recruiting. Same football ineptitude, playcalling, and execution.
