  1. Between Haslam being a key part of the group that bought the team, Porter, and Trapp, the Crew possibly have more NEO connections than Columbus!
  2. My guess would be a #57 for the Chargers made an introduction.
  3. Based on that article, the LA deal "never got over the finish line." I really want him to be the Crew Head Coach.
  4. In year 2 at OU, Groce beat Georgetown in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. In year 3, OU made it to the Quarterfinal of the CIT. In year 4, OU was an OT away again UNC from the Elite 8. I don't think he's "above" the CIT. I do agree the CBI and CIT should be dissolved into the NIT with a 64 team field. The NIT has never really bothered me, but the CBI and CIT do. The CBI and CIT are the equivalent to the lower-end bowl games. They'll essentially take anyone with a pulse that wants to pay to participate.
  5. Ugh. Why did you have to go and ruin this rebuild for me? I was all excited and pumped, then you go and bring up the reality that we're at the CBI/CIT level again.
  6. Damn. It was enjoyable to watch him underachieve with all of the financial support in the world.
  7. What does PCCC stand for and where does failure reside? Serious questions... - What's your offensive philosophy? - Do you like delayed handoffs?
  8. The two votes are head-scratching. Even worse: people got paid to determine that the National Champion is #1, and the Runner-Up (who beat Stanford & Wake Forest en route) is #2.
  9. Easy guys. Toledo is 9-1 against Little Sisters of the Poor (no, they do not have Sister Jean coaching their teams, either). They blew a 20 pt. lead against Marshall, and have lost to Wright State by 10. Can't is 8-1 with a 7 pt. loss vs. Liberty and close wins over Wright State, Detroit, and Cleveland State. They did beat Vandy, but apparently there were some factors (an injury to a stud player for Vandy?) that may have aided their upset. This Marshall game is going to be good, but I'm looking at their NCAA tournament performance as the reason why, not their who's who schedule of similar opponents/teams we keep a close eye on. To beat Marshall, you have to match Elmore and limit the rest of the team.
  10. Most people would flunk. It's like the US tax code - long and complicated so the average person doesn't understand it.
  11. DIII is the nuts and bolts of collegiate football. No athletic scholarships (wink wink), limited budgets, etc. Bringing success to a DIII program might prove to be more of an indictment of the coach than at any other level.
  12. The reverse of '09/'10? Lose in UCSB, win in Cary?
  13. Crappy way to lose. Just didn't have it tonight.
  14. Our guy should've gone down on that high foot clear. I guess there just isn't room in the budget for Hollywood classes.
  15. He was falling before any real contact came. A yellow? Sure. Red? Ridiculous.
  16. Oh my goodness. Unbelievable.
  17. LUNDT! Keeps Akron in this.
  18. We don't look nearly as sharp as usual.
  19. Stupid. PK allowed after the foul towards half field is called on Akron - not Maryland.
  20. Less than 2 hours. #JourneyToThe2ndStar
  21. It was on ESPN2 in 2010. I believe Cornhole and the infamous Drone Racing League occupied the Sunday night slots last week. But hey, putting the DI collegiate level championship of the biggest sport in the world on regular or 2? Nah. Side note: I'm not actually complaining about corn hole being on - love watching it.
  22. Anybody have a shot of the winning percentage graphic they flashed towards the end of the game?
  23. If true, I believe Williams has had Arth pegged for a while.
  24. I may eat these words tomorrow night, but I'm glad we're playing Maryland. 1) Indiana's pep/brass band was really annoying. The fact that's allowed by the NCAA, especially in the tournament after years of a zero tolerance policy towards noise makers in general, is shocking to me. I like the idea of our guys being able to focus more without 4 trumpets, 3 trombones, etc., blowing in their ears. 2) Indiana RIPPED their shots. I was much more impressed by Indiana's attack than Maryland's, although the Terps have some studs and capitalized on their opportunities. I think Akron just scored another goal on MSUcks... Let's get that 2nd Star, boys!
  25. I'm impressed by the coverage and enthusiasm from the MAC. Also impressed by the media coverage from our local media. Akron vs. Maryland. This really has been a run of epic proportions by Akron - Syracuse, Wake, Stanford - and would be fitting to cap it with a victory over Maryland for the title.
