OSU - Athens Campus shot well, but they mostly attacked the basket. Very aggressive offensive game plan. They DESTROYED Toledo on the offensive boards.

Nothing like watching OSU - Athens Campus dominate all game, only to show they're human the final 5-7 minutes and let this be a game. Hard to not smile watching Coach K's crooked program go down in lethargic fashion.

As the Maple Leafs forum stated, who steps up behind LCJ? If nobody does, this won't be a game. If Trimble and someone else do, look out. Akron can compete with Canada on the boards; rebounding is more about effort than anything, and few coaches in the MAC coach effort like Groce does.

Akron is going to win this tournament if they play with this kind of energy, intensity, and continue the level of bench support (cheerleaders). The guys on the bench haven't sat down, and this team is ready to go.

Eloquently put. Haha! I really like Larry Williams. He is one of the nicest, most genuine "big wigs" I've come across. I think he's making both the right decision for himself and the University. College athletics are in a horrible, HORRIBLE spot right now. The way the NCAA allowed the conferences to handle their own football seasons set the sport way back and killed a lot of interest with the casual fan. It was the perfect year to test an expansion of the Playoff, and they dropped the ball big time. Embarrassing. I would not want to be a G5 AD. Larry didn't always make the best decisions in terms of the University, but he did bring us Groce, and for that I'm forever grateful. I agree with all previous posters who have stated that we need a scrappy up-and-coming person to really elevate the football program. They also need the right mix below them to market the hell out of Akron athletics. Our marketing B.L.O.W.S. Even our basketball Instagram page looks like the videos were taken with a 1st Generation iPhone, then uploaded using dial-up. Pathetic.

NCAA or bust. With the number of programs hurting financially after this college sports year, the CBI, CIT, etc., where you have to fork over some cash to host or travel, don't make sense at all. NIT field is halved (ridiculous, by the way) to boot. Outside of the Zips, I haven't watched a lick of college basketball this year. Without the atmosphere, it loses its luster with me. I'm most likely going to be picking my bracket based on if I like the mascot or the primary color. These are typically the brackets that do well, though, right?

LCJ deserves to Dance more so than possibly any player in Akron history. He was robbed last year of his One (probably several) Shining Moment. With this week off, I hope several things have been worked on... - Defensive Effort - Rebounding Effort - Off-The-Ball Movement Beat BUGS. One game at a time. P.S. Thoughts and prayers are with the family of that BG student. My wife is a BUGS grad, and she said that fraternity was suspended when she was at school for a similar incident. They had just been allowed to come back recently, then this happens. Ridiculous. I don't think Fraternities/Sororities should be cancelled, but our youth is in trouble with the lack of common sense, accountability, and discipline being demonstrated by them in society. One of my favorite songs has a lyric "We talk about leaving a better planet for our kids, how about leaving better kids for our planet." Words of wisdom.
