  1. If by chance that did happen, that would be pretty cool. The Twilight Game.
  2. I believe it would be moved to tomorrow. i.e. Western Michigan from last year(?).
  3. Immediately following the opening kickoff (Zips boomed it into the back of the end zone), there is a weather delay.
  4. Flipping back and forth on my birthday between the Indians, Michigan/Notre Dame, and the Zips with an Octoberfest in my hand. With around 10-20 minutes until kickoff, here's to an excellent 2018 season. Dilly dilly ladies & gentlemen!
  5. I know it's not the MAC, but Appalachian State is up 7 on Penn State with 1 minute to go.
  6. Central Michigan up 17-7 with 5:33 to go in the first half.
  7. The day is off to a great start with Illinois knocking off Can't State. Let's see what prime-time has to offer. 38-31 Akron. Go Zips!
  8. I may be a little extra jazzed by the news of the Indians acquiring Josh Donaldson, but tomorrow is the first game! BEAT THE CORNHUSKERS!
  9. So everyone in attendance gets a driver head cover?
  10. Please do. I will gladly retain my permanent spot on that team. It's even better when the optimism is factually based. Go Zips! Exactly. It's not like this kid was the sure-fire starter coming into camp. He had to win the job, and it doesn't sound like it was a convincing victory, either. Time will tell, but on paper, it's a great scenario for us.
  11. 90k at a scrimmage?! Then again, when in Lincoln... There's nothing else.
  12. Big fan of this commit. If he stays committed, awesome. If not, still awesome, because it's a Huntington Prep kid committing to Akron. Might turn a few heads towards Akron that otherwise weren't looking our way. Totally agree they are an obvious step up from Marshll, but not sure they're a step up - let alone an obvious one - from Marshall (coming off an upset of Wichita State in the NCAA Tourney).
  13. So the kid hasn't played a true football game in 2 years? Wow. Absolute best case scenario on paper.
  14. Corrupt NCAA + Money-filled P5 Schools + More Corruption = Mid Majors getting screwed Layman's terms version of their complex computations and predictive data.
  15. It will be interesting to see what affect this has on scheduling. On one hand, it reduces the need for P5 schools to risk an early upset because the main part of this is how you're playing at the end of the year essentially. On the other hand, do early upsets matter as much to P5 schools since it's more of a judgement on the end-of-season results? Time will tell. I will say, I don't like the terms "predictive data" or "objective version of the so-called eye test."
  16. This looks like a team that can turn some heads this year.
  17. Is there a list of the 80 degree programs that will be phased out? By the sounds of it, it seems like a logical move, especially if it's true that new degrees to be added will be focused in industries with labor shortages.
  18. Why Buffalo? Are you Canadian? Calmed down? TBD. I see what you did there... Starting role? TBD. No more hot-headedness? TBD. As you can see, there's a lot to be determined with Kato. Sky is blue, grass is green. Ramart for Heisman!
  19. LIU Brooklyn:Low Major Can't State:Not Sucking
  20. Who was the low major?
  21. Comparing MAC OOC Schedules (notable games are listed)... Akron - Marshall, Nevada, Cayman Islands Classic ( 3 games - Clemson, Georgia/Illinois State, St. Bonnie/Georgia State/Creighton/Boise State) Bowling Green - St. John's, VCU Buffalo - WVU, St. Bonnie, Syracuse, Marquette Can't State - Vandy, Louisville, Oregon State Miami - Butler, Xavier, Island of Bahamas Showcase (Matchups TBD) Ohio - Hasn't announced OOC Ball State - Hasn't announced OOC Central Michigan - TCU, Bahamas Tournament (Matchups TBD) Eastern Michigan - Hasn't announced OOC Northern Illinois - Butler, Michigan State Toledo - Marshall, Middle Tennessee, Gulf Coast Showcase Tournament (Matchups TBD) Western Michigan - Ole Miss, Cincy, Michigan, Dayton
  22. Exactly. The schedule is a great mix of games that allow you to learn how to win, and games that challenge you mentally (against the tougher squads).
  23. The argument made was that, as an established mid-major, the next step was never taken in scheduling to increase our odds at taking that next step in the postseason. We are working to re-establish ourselves as a top mid-major, and this schedule is as good if not better on the top end than any schedule we've had in recent memory. The bottom end is borderline irrelevant because there is very little difference in teams ranked 200 and lower (towards 300). We've had a plethora of them on our schedules over the last 14 years, and there might not be much difference in the ones on this schedule. However, the difference is made up on the top end, and I think this schedule is great, especially with where we are at as a program. Nevada and Marshall made noise in the tourney - they will draw some attention, especially with Marshall at home. Clemson is ACC, and then the other Caymans game is against solid competition since the field is top to bottom strong.
  24. Strong schedule in my opinion. I'm assuming Cedarville is an exhibition? Regardless, Nevada, Marshall, Clemson, and that second Cayman Islands game are awesome. Strong 4 games there. And for the second year in a row, we don't have Lipscomb or a NCAlphabetSoup school on our schedule - dreams do come true.
  25. Weird. Edit: Unless we're adding ECU to the conference, and even they have lost their luster in my eyes. Second Edit: Maybe this is a sign that the MAC is Davy Jones' locker, and we are stuck in the MAC forever.
