You know, I was watching the under 20 World Cup finals the other day, and I'll tell you what, I don't think either team (Brazil nor Ghana, and Ghana won) could beat the Zips. Now, a tie might be a possibility, but the Zips looked better. This team is very Very VEry VERy VERY special.

If we play like we did against NIU, we're toast. Michigan is a pretty solid team. Let's just hope the #1 team in the country shows up.

I would make that deal. Trade Cribbs and his seemingly one dimensional game and his threats if he doesn't get renegged for a pure reciever who can actually CATCH the ball. And not a bad return guy himself.I don't know if the Giants make that. Throw in Quinn maybe...Reasons I'd make that trade:1) Abram Elam and Cribbs are both Flushes. I want a Flush free team. 2) Cribbs can only return. Hixon can return, IMO, almost as well as Cribbs. Hixon can also run routes and catch the ball. Hixon is better IMO. 3) HIXON IS A ZIP! WE NEED A ZIP ON THE BROWNS!

Just throwing this out there, but... Josh Cribbs and Elam for Hixon and someone else (maybe).

I'll tell you what, I love this announcer for VT. He's hilarious. He keeps talking about the weather and says, "If you like the metric system...," then starts saying the weather in terms of the metric system. Once Gavin scored the PK, he said, "Game, set, match." Very fun announcer. And props to VT, they still aren't letting up.

The stupid tracker still had it at 1-1 when he scored a goal, so yes I was VERY upset (finally decided to keep up and add Kofi's score, then 26 seconds later, Teal's goal).

Pretty good game from what I could tell on the tracker.Blair (71:47), Kofi (85:05), Teal (88:56, exactly 26 seconds after Kevin Stoll made UIC's only goal) had the 3 goals.12-5 shots on goal in favor of Akron. 1-6 saves in favor of Akron. 4-4, even with corners.11-12 fouls, Akron had 11, UIC had 12.We're #1 for a reason (and this goes for all Akron sports that want to compete): The best find a way to get the job done, as did the Zips soccer team tonight. Just my thoughts on the Zips football season: Let's go Cavs, Zips basketball/#1 soccer!I'm not giving up on the football season either, but like you pointed out infofan, it's hard not to get excited about a team that could be ranked this season.

If everyone can stay healthy, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Akron gets ranked at one point during the season. We have the talent, depth, and height this year. GO ZIPS!

I also feel the play calling was bad. Rogers isn't the QB you call most of those plays for, and I don't think he was comfortable with it. We'll see as the year goes on, but let's just hope Akron can recover and beat CMU.On a positive note we scored 3 TDs and

I never said anything about CJ not being able to get the job done this year, all I meant to do was say that I think we need to find a better QB for the years to come. The Zips had their moments yesterday, they looked pretty decent against a top 10 team.
