Yeah. I haven't been paying close attention, but I suspect they are working on more concrete collumns. Before the last batch of iron went up, then spent a few weeks putting up those concrete pillars that are between the steelwork and the lower bowl. I think they are doing more of those on the south side now.

It's the sun.The home side shows up better before 10am. The visitor side shows up better after 3:30pm.

What if they run a trick play and like most trick plays, they lose yards? Should the other team ignore the trick play. Of course they should. Most coaches don't know where to run the trick plays to begin with (they should be run in the "alumni zone"...between the 40s). I have lost most of my hair watching my favorite football teams lose yard after yard with trick plays. The problem is most coaches are so stupid, they will spend hours game-planning for something that probably does not need to be planned for extensively. That's why you will see I added the caveat "when you can get away with it". You don't want to live by the gimmick, because you will die by the gimmick. My only point was, the first game is a great time to throw in a gadget play or two for the purpose of making your future opponent's jobs a little tougher (aside from the idea of holding your good cards to your vest). You coach your D players to stick to their assignments because it's better to get burned on a gadget, as long as you didn't blow your assignment.... but a couple of successful well-chosen gadget plays can make future opponent coaches pull his hair out trying to stretch their player's responsibilities... all it takes is hesitation or doubt on the field.

what is more, if you can throw in some "gimmick" plays in your first game, defensive coaches who review the game might have to respect it. In other words, use the gimmick (when you can get away with it) to open up the more conservative approach.

How about some funding for an entrepreneurial/investment information resource (and networking) center for students and alumni?Yes, funding is hard to come by, but if you believe in yourself enough, you can get loans and backers.Good information is harder to come by.When I went to organize a business several years ago, I was looking for a good place to get advice and information.I'm not a graduate of the business college, okay? So, the closest I could find was the akron sbdc (small business development center). The best I could get was 2 people to respond to my emails, and one phone call. I got no sense that anyone really cared about someone in Akron trying to startup a business... just a feeling of "Great, you don't know everything? Why should I help you (fail)?" heh.I think that some people in various fields or with various talents, no matter how intelligent they may be, don't have exposure to the realm of business and finance. They may have some great ideas, but they have no clue what to expect in the business law, tax, and finance world. Should someone really have to go for a 4 year degree from the college of business to become an entrepreneur? This is probably very true for any student with some degree not related to business/finance who wants to take his education and talents straight to market, skipping the employee/corporate world

Look guys, I'm not trying to ruffle anyone's feathers, and I understand exactly what you are saying. As fans, we should temper our hopes with some degree of realism. However, I just feel like you never strap that helmet up without believing in yourself, and your team. I don't care who you are playing. If I don't think I can beat you, then hell, I might as well go knit a sweater.
-
may as well not play the game.I mean, it's only football, and they are only a football team, but hell.... let's mail in a forfeit and move on to the next week.

Back on good terms with Goodyear?
zen replied to ZachTheZip's topic in General UA & Campus Discussion
The larger the diameter of the drum, the better high-tension material you need.It would be a good research project for some polymer wiz-kids -
Interesting plan too. If you can encourage more entrepreneurialism among current and future alumni, you increase the odds that it will return to you manifold in future donations back to the University.

Back on good terms with Goodyear?
zen replied to ZachTheZip's topic in General UA & Campus Discussion
I don't think you can quantify a monetary value on those materials... and I don't think that Goodyear was even looking at it that way.I think that they felt that there was a historical value, and that they should be properly cataloged and handled because of that. It's not the kind of thing that you say, "hmm, we could get 1.1mill for these on ebay". It's more important than money. They could have donated them to another institution capable of handling them in the proper way, but it makes sense to keep them in Akron. Another institution, Smithsonian for example, would have picked and chosen only those things they found of interest.Props to Goodyear -
haha, the basin would be right across the street from plasma allianceWouldn't that be considered competition?

... and every time it fills up in the summer for more than a few days, someone on the maintenance staff will have to throw some organic mosquito control into it. LOL You wouldn't want a very large standing farm for a galactic swarm of bloodsuckers so near to campus.

:lol:OMG, they could fill it up to the lower level and they could sell tickets for people to ride bumper-car Sea-Doos inside Infocision stadium's Summa-Lake!I'd buy tickets for that.I don't think they can do the drainage until the excavate the south-west corner (where the main entrance is going to be) because if I remember the plan drawings right, the catch basin will be across from that corner in the S.E. corner of Jackson field.

It's gonna be heeyoooge! :DYou can already see the top of it from route 8 between and above the trees and buildings near the highway, and Rt.8 is dug in.

the (current) top of the iron work now shows the slope for the upper level seating on Cam-1 !!!It looks like that is where the top of the stands.

:rolleyes:This almost seems spammy, except that you seem to be active in it and it could potentially be of use.

in addition, you can do a towel giveaway promotion, but you can call them sham shammies

It looks easier to use (which is always good), but I actually think it looks slightly less profession in it's layout and style. No big deal though, and that's just one person's opinion. This is an age old debate about web pages. While you want to present a quality face on your site, particularly if you are a corporation or institution, you definitely want to allow the user to navigate easily, particularly if your site isn't just for show and people will regularly need to access it for information.

My hope is the offensive coaching staff has progressed. That is just as important as our QB play.here here!

more info I guess (I don't subscribe to scout/rivals and all those)

Sounds like a smart idea to me, specially basketball players. You can reduce your class load a little during the playing season if you take summer classes.

 They are pouring concrete support footers on the INSIDE of the lower bowl seating section (Home Side)

Did I hear Duke?

That sounds right, but I have a question. Is that true, since LeBron was never in the NCAA nor an alumni or even registrant at any NCAA institution? Granted, the rules of recruitment apply to the school and thus penalize the school, not the the individual, but if the individual is acting on his own and not with any collusion with the school, is that really a violation?

oh God i have...i call it my pilgrimage. Miller Brewing Company and the Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company. Both amazing places that give you a good amount of free beer on the tour. (aka 3 or 4 to each person, each tour)wait..... are you suggesting that miller is better than great lakes?????BEER FIGHT!!Quick everyone, gather 'round! I'll take the hillbilly over the beverage snob!I drink one or two times a week, and though I wouldn't pass a breathilizer, I rarely get shit faced. In other words, why should I drink piss?
