  1. 6'7" 220lbs? Seems a little small for the line, although it'd be cool if he'd like to line up there and go vertical for some blocked field goals. I wonder what his 40 times are.
  2. I'm in as 'zenmaster'
  3. Hey, I switched on the show at 11:30, and just listening so far I gotta say, as a talk radio listener, not too bad at all.
  4. May not be rocket science, but it's a somewhat foreign and ellusive concept to people who don't understand this market.True, frontrunning and bandwagoning are a normal phenomenon everywhere, but some teams/markets/institutions have a "loyal following". I agree with you, it's a bit unrealistic to expect that when you haven't done anything that barely moves the needle on "bigtime showing" meter, but I think some coaches and institutional staff feel that the student body and the local yokals will drop their dime and show up just because it's "their school", and in some ways, maybe they have a point. It's a tough unrealistic in what is basically a commuter school, but I understand why they would think (or hope) for it.
  5. Yeah, I couldn't believe it. I was rooting for them! *ducks* Seriously, this was the #6 team as well as being 'Duke'. I couldn't help but root for Can't.But then reality set in. lol
  6. erm, how big is the field for MLS?
  7. I dunno. If you look at the "accellerated master schedule" they wanted to start breaking ground for site work in january 2007. I would think that if they were anywhere near following that, then by now, a lot is probably already set in stone
  8. If you look at footballstadiumspecs.pdf, you will see it's called "finalized conceptual plan". It looks like they made a choice. However, it doesn't seem set in stone. In the addendum:"Alternate sites will be suggested for the consultant's review and analysis."
  9. You don't get in bed with the devil. Not that I got anything against Wolstein, but you gotta understand the nature of the beast. A guy like that wants control.
  10. 80-79 UICmiddleton hit a 3
  11. 80-76 UICless than 1min
  12. 76 - 75 zips less than 2min remaining
  13. three point fest
  14. I wouldn't bet the farm on it, but I honestly think it would do fairly well. I don't think it will flop. Attendence start out very strong, and wane if the team is less than mediocre for a few years, but I don't think it will flop... I could be wrong.
  15. It's a good Question, Ryno, and I wanted to apologise if my last reply to you seemed rude. It wasn't meant to be.
  16. :DIf the soccer thing flops, the only thing it hurts is taxpayers. We get taxed for everything, now all of a sudden we are frugal? fI'm not sure that I have even heard how much the taxes will be for the average person.I noticed that when they needed to pass a tax for the AKRON zoo as a county issue, the zoo suddenly got named summit county zoo on the ballots.
  17. zip81, regardless if you are correct or not, basically what you are doing is attacking the soccer stadium because you perceive it as a threat to the zips football stadium. To me, this is akin to lobbying the city to block a neighborhood resident on your street from trying to get his sidewalk fixed because your afraid it will hurt your chances to attempt the same thing. Argh, crappy metaphor. I am trying to find a way to verbalize how sickening it looks when people would go so negative on something else because they view it as a threat to something virtually distinct
  18. hahahaha! The logic people use amazes me sometimes.AsIf Macedonia was an island isolated in Lake Erie or something!Okay, Macedonia is between two cities. But, perhaps unlike Columbus, those cities themselves (while the densest population) are rarely the prime ticket buyers for pro sporting events. Go to any Cavs, Indians, or Browns game, and you will find suburbanites in the seats. This phenomenon might be even more exxagerated for soccer. So, if you move out into suburbia, you actually get closer to your market. Macedonia is between TWO cities, but in the prime market for both.
  19. yupperz, we moved up to #7 on that stat now.(I'll update the first post)
  20. If wolstein (or howver you spell his name) comes out of nowhere and is able to rally local and county politicians, and people, to his cause, and it takes the wind out of UA campus stadium's sails, then it's the UofA's fault. How long have we been talking about getting a stadium on campus? Years! .... and we haven't rallied jack schit to our cause.
  21. The reason I think it is important (particularly in contrast to margin of victory) is that it can be less dependent on your opponent. I'm not necessarily saying that our opponents so far are fluffcakes, but, other than bringing a strong defence and denying good shots, our ability to hit shots is much more independent than our margin of victory. It's a good sign. If we can keep hitting our shots above 50% all year, particularly when we play conference opponents, in my opinion it's going to be a great year.

  23. That is the perfect stadium! Check out this link to see what I mean. http://www.ellerbebecket.com/portfolio_template_121.htmlThat is exactly what i have envisioned for a long time. The brick facade, the grass end zone and believe it or not a definite "RubberBowl" feel. Look at the phot of the press bow and it kinda reminds me of the RB. In all seriousness that is a fantastic stadium that I think everyone could be proud of. I like that one too. I agree that the exterior design would fit in (and comliment) our campus....yet obviously, we wouldn't copy... but it would be great for inspiration
