It would be amazing if we played the Bearcats on our way to the NIT finals against South Carolina.

Romeo Travis: He is tissue paper soft in the paint and watching him shoot free throws is like watching your girlfriend make out with your best friend. Its just plain painful. With that said he still gave teams someone to think about. He would come down with the occasional offensive rebound and would put pressure on the other team's big men. He seems to have a decent knack at making the turn around mid-range jumper. Hopefully he gets rid of that damn mohawk. The season started going down hill once the 'hawk showed up.B (mohawk gets an F-)Dru Joyce: He looks like he is in a video game when he is bring the ball up the court. He is quick and he has some decent moves. For a guard he is a good rebounder. He needs to stop shooting 30 foot three pointers. He has good vision and provides decent defense. Next year should be more of the same. I don't see him getting much better than he is now. His numbers will go up a little, but he won't be a deandre haynes.B+Nick Dials:He was two different people this year. The first 3/4ths of the season he was a good player. Once the games got big and teams started putting alot of pressure on him, forget about it. Dials disappeared quicker than food infront of Tim Crouch. Akron will have to replace the backboards at the JAR with all the bricks he heaved at them. He needs to understand that there are more things in life than shooting three pointers.B- (first 3/4 of season) D (last 1/4 of season)Matt Futch:Someone should have chained him to the hoop. I loved how he wouldn't put up with anyones shit and just drilled them with an elbow. He spent too much time hovering around the three point line and didn't rebound all that well.C+Rob Preston:Sweet shot from the outside for a big man. Wasn't very tough on D and when it came to rebounding he was better off letting someone else try. Showed real leadership in coming off the bench and not once complaining about it. He will be missed next year.B-Cedric Middleton:What a player he is going to be. He can drive to the hoop and he can play some defense. Quick and agile. By the time he is a senior, he is going to be a player of the year type of guy. He had better be starting next year over Dials. Fear the 'froA-Darryl Peterson:I should give him an "A" just for not punching Dambrot in the face for not playing him. He was hurt some of the time, but still didn't play when he wasn't. In the biggest games this year, he came out firing in the first half and leading the Zips, only to see nothing but pine time in the second half of the game. DP should be thanked for being a solid player his whole career at Akron. Another guy who will be missed next year.A (just for keeping us in the K ent game at home)Nate Linhart:Anyone who thinks Nate Linhart isn't going to be great should pack their stuff up and transfer to Can't because they are retarded. He drives to the hoop. He looks to create on the baseline. He draws fouls. He doesn't shoot 25 threes a game. He has basketball smarts. He seemed a little nervous at times, but he is a freshman. By the time he is a senior, he will be Akron's first option on offense. The kid has some major upside. We will go dancing in the near future with the likes of Linhart and Middleton on the team.A-Quade Mylum:Gain 150 pounds and we'll talk about fearing the stache.D (at current size) could top out around a B if he would put on some size.Sowers, Rybak, Maraz, Goddard:They sat the bench like pros. I didn't see one chair tipped over all year. Good job bench squad. You are nonsense. If you would pay attention, K ent plays guys who are basketball smart. Linhart is basketball smart. He doesn't jack up threes because he is behind the line, he drives the to basket. If everyone of Akron's players had that approach we would be talking about how nice it is to have a 26-27 win season. Firing up long threes with a big lead (Dials) leads to long rebounds, which leads to fast breaks, which leads to where we are now, sitting at home bitching about Akron losing to Toledo. Since you are so sure Linhart "wouldn't get 10 minutes in a Can't uniform-ever." why don't you go cheer for them next year and leave the Zips to fans who actually think this team has some good players who will be great in the future.

In two years, Nate Linhart is going to be a player that other teams look at and wonder why they don't have anyone of his caliber. He is a freshman. Have you noticed how every time he gets the ball at the three point line he DOESN'T shoot, instead he drives to the hoop for layups and get the other teams big men in foul trouble. He might be the only player on Akron who trys to get a damn rebound. He always seems to be involved when there is a loose ball. He will be a star.Next year's line up should be Joyce at point, Middleton at SG, Linehart at SF, Romeo at PF and Wood at C. That is if the self proclaimed "Wolverine" of college basketball can actually use his healing powers and not spend another season racking up a massive phone bill. He may only be 6'6" but he has the build and the drive to shut down MAC big men. With a healthy Wood and an more experienced Linhart, Akron should be a rebounding machine. Middleton will lead the team in scoring if he plays half decent minutes. Hopefully Romeo spends this off season working on some post moves and on BOXING OUT. All and all next years team will be better.Don't start on the fire Dambrot crap. If he wouldn't have screwed up when he was coaching at C. Michigan, He would already be coaching at a bigger school than Akron. We are lucky to have him. Who would you rather have as a coach, Dru Joyce II?

As much as I hate that pile of crap with a curly afro that K ent calls kevin warzynski, I'll be rooting for K ent tomorrow. Akron and K ent may be rivals, but when it comes down to it, K ent can do the most damage in the NCAA tourney and the MAC needs all the positive press it can get. Go K ent.

Akron V K ent in the championship game would be the best thing the MAC can hope for. OU winning the MAC tournament again would be a black eye to the confrence.

If we really want to get at someone, it has to be carefully planed. If it is just thrown together it will never work. Some research will have to be done. I think a couple in coming freshmen for Can't or ohio or something would be the perfect target.

St. Joes, Memphis, South Carolina and Maryland were in last years NIT final four. South Carolina beat St. Joes to win it. How about this for an answer, Akron would benifit from not sitting at home this year. Either the NIT or the NCAA tourney would be a hell of alot better than nothing. Personaly I would rather make it to the final four of the NIT. To get there you are going to have to beat some pretty high caliber teams. There are lot of teams that make it to the first round of the NCAA tourney and no one cares. Hell i would rather play a play in game, then knock off a huge team. People will remember that before they will remember that Iona was even in the dance. Akron in the NIT still beats Can't playing in the special olympics.

Hmm, doesn't Ohio have to make it past the first round in order to even make it to the Q? Don't get too cocky Ohio, Cleveland is just Akron north. It might as well be home court for us. the Romeo chant needs to be thought about. Either yell ROME -E -O, OHH. OHH. once, or twice. The first time is loud and strong. The second time only half the people say it, and it sounds like crap. keep it in unison. Do it enough one way, and everyone will catch on. Much like the HIXON, HIXON, HIXON, chant in football.

The font is a modified IMPACT style font, with extended, pointed serifs. It looks like it is a custom font. There are alot of fonts that look kinda like it. Gil Sans Bold, for example. But the serifs (the points on ends of the letters) are usualy found on fonts not so bold. FEAR, THE and ROO are all in the same font. ROO is stretched vertically and THE is condensed vertically and extended horizontally. FEAR appears to be the standard font its self. Sorry I couldn't give you a direct name. You could always use a program like "fontographer" to create your own custom ROO font. all you have to do is build the letter form in photoshop or illustrator, then import the letter into fontographer. Maybe one of these days I'll get bored enough to do an entire ROO alphabet, then distribute the true type font file to anyone who wants it.

Now that Temple is in the MAC, there is another crap team that will beat us up, so you wont have to worry about their punter. You will lead the nation in total punt yards. The Zips baseball team should be pretty decent this year. Once the transition of a new coach is over, they should really start to play. 4th sounds about right, but i wouldn't be suprised if they finished 3rd and contended for 1st for a while. I'm calling it now, in 2 years, they will win the MAC. They are going in the right direction.
