Here goes... i'm typing as i watch, so it might not all make sense...Starting off with a segment on OSU. Starts with ANOTHER replay of that freaking lucky shot. Dambrot clip from last night and how we dont get any love. The players are all watching for the invites. Dambrot talking about the publicity that came out of the loss last night. Players look devastated when they found out they wont be going to the NCAAs. Dambrot somewhat upbeat about the fact that they didn't get in. Dambrot live:Says that the RPI was something that hurt us but the conference RPI wasnt good enough. Says no doubt that the MAC as a conference has a stigma and give high majors too many bids this year. "Have to move on and handle adversity." Going back to last night... he says that Akron wins 98 out of 100 under those circumstances. With the bank and the timing error, he says it was pure luck. Reporter says that Akron deserved the NCAA and dambrot of course agreed. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about the lack of NIT bid. Initial thought:Dambrot was insanely upbeat. I don't know if this interview was done before the NIT snuff, but it was weird. A lot of press coverage here though, and the sports reporters both said that Akron is on their way to more national exposure. I freaking hate to say this, but let's *shudder* look forward to next year. We should be the class of the MAC with our recruits and the returning players we have. The last 24+ hours have been a painful time for this program, but there is a bright side. I do feel awful for Rome and Dru... they deserved better, but as Dambrot said last night, "Sometimes life just isn't fair." Damn right. this time got a major shaft.
