We should know by Saturday night whether Dino Babers is available. It's doubtful 'Cuse will be bowl eligible this year. Babers, kind of a flop at 'Cuse, but, like I said in another threat (or earlier in this one, Idk) I daydream about him doing for us what he did for BUGS.

If KJ's funk continues throughout the season that has to fall at the feet of Groce, right? KJ led Ball State in scoring last year. He's a player and is experienced. Something seriously wrong with our chemistry.

After yesterday's abomination, I said we need three 3's from Trimble, three 3's from Castenada, and 10 points from KJ. Trimble submitted his contribution 2 minutes into the game. Lol. KJ looks frustrated. Castenada... we'll see.

We need Trimble and Castenada to both hit three 3's per game and we need Walton to score 10 PPG & draw fouls at the basket. I liked that Dawson got more time today. He hit one 3 & had two others rim out. I like Dawson. I highly doubt either of the freshmen will play this season, as someone mentioned above. But if one does, it should be Kobe. He's a prolific 3-point shooter & as of now we only have 2-3 guys who can shoot in Trimble, Castenada, and Dawson. I just have to believe Trimble & Castenada will come around. If not, we may not win another game all year. Lol

That's part of my frustration. Season tickets are dirt cheap, but those two opponents were absolutely worthless. I've never seen weaker competition in the JAR. For our early season warm-up games we should at least schedule the local colleges. It'd just make it a bit more fun. Here is GT's short column on last night's game. It's good. He says we simply laid an egg & we should move on. He thinks it was an anomaly. In covering the Zips men’s basketball program for almost 10 years, I’ve never seen a team coached by John Groce or Keith Dambrot shoot bricks the way they did Monday in Florida. This was not the team which showed some hustle in overcoming a massive deficit against West Virginia or nearly upset Ohio State. Once in a while a team will put up an absolute stinker. This should not start a trend.

I don't much like Ali and Clarke as "shooters," per se. I wouldn't count on more than one per game from each of them, respectively. I think maybe Dawson should get more PT. I like his D & he can get hot(ish) from the 3-line.
