Btw, this thread is evidence why the U made the correct decision in building Info & investing in football. Look at the excitement this thread has generated. Akron is smack dab in the middle of NEO, the football capital of the world. I like me some basketball too, I really do. And I daydream about one day making the Sweet Sixteen & having a new downtown arena. But like most other area people, football is king... by a mile... by two miles... by three miles.

For the record, I do like the Script Akron. But not as our primary logo. I love the Z as our primary logo. It's unique and cool. The kids love it (actually very important). My second favorite mark is the Zippy which I'm using as my avatar. Terribly underused on our uniforms, IMHO. I also like the Fear the Roo head we sometimes use. (The one where you only see the top of Zippy's head & he's looking right at you.) I have never liked the A-Roo head. IMO, it's busy, difficult to even tell what it's supposed to be (especially from any distance) and makes Zippy look like a donkey 😂

Wynn's almost absolute lack of PT has really surprised me as well. I believe it was @Hilltopper who noted his benchwarming was due to his play on the defensive end of the floor. But, man, can it possibly be that bad? To Coach Groce, apparently so. But D is normally an effort issue, so I'm a bit aggravated at Wynn that warming the bench didn't kickstart his motivation.

I can't seem to find it (too much activity on the board!), but @mes.102 had a terrific post addressing just this earlier today. Maybe @mes.102, or someone else, could copy & paste his post here in this thread?

If Castenada isn’t hitting 3’s, Trimble is really the only shooter on the team.

I miss the Z. It was one of the coolest logos in all of sports. Additionally, our old football uniforms were the most beautiful football uniforms in the nation, regardless of level.

I'm relieved/excited that, since the rumor of Joe Moorehead to Akron broke, there have been ZERO additional rumors of anyone being interviewed for the job. By midnight tonight Coach Moorehead's gonna be in blue & gold! 💪💪 (🤞)

Thank you. And I agree, this is exciting! It hasn't been buzzing around here like this since, I guess I'd say the Potato Bowl. Though I don't really remember accurately. Anyone remember when Arth was announced as the new coach? Crickets. Those who did post were simply asking, "Who?" Then Chattanooga fans came on here expressing not disappointment, but surprise, and basically thanked us for taking him off their hands. 😂
