I think we're going to have to bring in another JUCO post player next season. Someone who can step in and contribute immediately. Here are our outgoing seniors listed next to the player who could/should step into the lineup to fill the void left by their graduation: Tyler Cheese --------- Maishe Dailey Channel Banks --------- Bryan Trimble Xeyrius Williams --------- Taylor Currie Deng Riak ---------- ??? Without having another post player we'd only have 3 on the roster next season in Camron Reece, Taylor Currie, and Jaden Sayles.

I love to hate Marshall.

There is always more than one variable: LCJ has matured, Banks found his shot, Banks & Cheese have a season together under their belts, etc., etc. So... I'm slightly hesitant to point this out, but man, are we better without Utomi, or what?! Watching this team play highlights to me how much of a ball-stopper Utomi was. He was also surprisingly slow-of-foot and lacked explosion. We just seem to be in a much better offensive flow this year sans Utomi.

ABJ: Zips cruise to 64-47 win over Merrimack It wasn't what I would call an exciting game - Merrimack's deliberate, slow-down style wouldn't seem to allow for that. But while it wasn't the most entertaining ball I've seen this year, neither was it ugly or sloppy. Zips did what they had to do - took their time on offense passing & working for good looks - and executed well. The Zippers seemed focussed on both offense and defense for the entire 40 minutes. Good effort! I like this team!

You’re absolutely right, John. He’s an awesome young man and everyone on the team loves him. But I think LZip’s point was that Ramart is not transferring because he doesn’t like the Akron program, but is transferring because he wants to be somewhere he can contend for PT.

Michael Snowden made the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Fabulous 22 Team. Also, Michael notes he was recruited to play LB, so I'll update the initial post. *That gives us a nice distribution amongst defense recruits w/ 2 DT's, 2 DE's, 2 LB's, and 4 DB's.

I'm guessing he's probably a preferred walk-on. But I added him to the initial post.

ABJ: Zips coach sees both sides of coin in loss to Louisville

Just reminiscing over how I'd been looking forward to this year's out-of-conference schedule for a couple of years. I thought it was set up perfectly for a mid-major's success. UAB Troy UMass Winnable payday game at Illinois. *sigh*

I really like Wolfley when he's healthy. But I've got nothing to add. We didn't seem to target the TE very often. Idk why as those are usually pretty easy, quick-hitting passes... which I thought our offense needed more of.

I don't think these stats include last night's game.

Great shots again, Good Doctor! Thank you!! 1. Josh Ward is an amazing human being who makes me proud he's got AKRON written on his chest. I'm going to miss him. 2. Great shot on the 40-yard obvious pass interference no-call on the first (?) play of the game. 3. I hope that's the last we see of that stupid Turnover Pencil. I hate that thing. And it's dangerous. Good grief, I'm beginning to sound like @clarkwgriswold. Get off my lawn!!!

Well. I can say I was here to support the team. I’m a diehard. But I think I’m out & just gonna catch the 2nd half at home. Now I’m just hoping Gibson doesn’t get hurt.

Our OL is amazingly bad. We should have tried Boogie @ RB this year. It was rather apparent after the first 2 games that Brandon Lee wasn’t gonna cut it.

OU’s blitzing the freshman Gibson every down. I would too.

Jonah needs more consistency. But when he gets ahold of a punt it’s a rocket!

Boogie’s been a bit quick calling for fair catches on kickoffs tonight. IMO.
