  1. Yikes. I hadn't noticed. The first game listed with any TV information is versus Ball State on January 10th. 2. Our only hope.
  3. Not much respect. Let's make 'em pay for the slight, boys.
  4. Our last reasonable chance for a W this season? ABJ/GT: Zips still looking to put together cohesive effort but also don’t be surprised to see more freshmen make their way onto the field in coming weeks on special teams and even earning spots on the two-deep depth chart. The NCAA allows freshmen to appear in four games before losing a year of eligibility. Arth wants to maximize playing time for players and, for those with limited experience, the time is nigh. He singled out former Massillon standout Kyshod Mack, a defensive back, and linebacker Corey Thomas Jr. as two such players. I've been waiting to see the two aforementioned players. I've been a little perplexed that we haven't seen them already. Almost as perplexing as Peter Hayes-Patrick's lack of PT. GT also confirms Shawn Featherstone is done for the year. So his Zips' career is now officially over. He was a good one when healthy. How about a little more Reggie Corner, Jr.?
  5. You and a-zip agree, @John Ward. He was trying to say that he doesn't want to drop to a lower division either. He's supporting the fellas. *Unless I'm completely mis-reading your post, @a-zip?
  6. I always like these first games against teams like this. You get to see everyone play & watch Groce tinker with various lineups. Malone will be all-in to win this game, while we'll be experimenting with various lineups & schemes. So sometimes these games can be closer than one would think. I'm already looking forward to having my butt ache on those JAR bleachers. It's been too long.
  7. Was anyone privy to the Xavier scrimmage who can give a a scoop or two?
  8. ABJ/staff report: Rain, reality douse any hope of victory as Zips fall 49-0 to Northern Illinois
  9. You're right. He's definitely a DT.
  10. ABJ/GT: Akron -v- NIU scouting report
  11. From the article: Kostelac alleges he suffered discrimination because he is white and the majority of members of the team were black. He also alleges he was targeted for his religion because he is Catholic. Wait a minute... are we talking about Kostelac or Scott Walter?
  12. Good catch, @bigjim. Here is Janirr Wade's hudl profile, from which I took my information. But FWIW, on Janirr's twitter page, he lists himself as a DE (he doesn't list DT). 280 would be awfully heavy for a DE. So your question definitely still stands.
  13. ABJ/GT: Zips showing improvement on at least one side of the ball
  14. Excellent!!!
  15. Concerning field goals, were our snaps and holds any good? After Fitschen missed the second of his 2 tries last week, he had his arm around the holder & looked as if Fitschen was trying to console the holder & not vice-versa. I love me some Alvin Davis, that's for sure. But honestly, I don't love him as our punt return man.
  16. Thanks, @kreed5120! But that's strange 24/7 says Janirr Wade committed yesterday. He's been on the ZN.o running verbal commitments list for a while now. I must have read of his commitment from another source. Honestly, I probably got it off his twitter.
  17. This question is for those who know more than I do (this is not rhetorical): Is there a big difference (schematically) between D-1, D-2 & D-3 ball? I.e., a big difference besides the difference in the size & speed of the players? Mount Union seems to run a rather sophisticated offense (right?). Well, Arth had built up John Carroll to the point that they were on par with Mount Union. I'd have to imagine Larry Kehres Jr. breathed a big sigh of relief when Arth left John Carroll, just as I'm sure he did when Lance Leipold left Wisconsin-White Water. Is Mount Union's offense sophisticated only relative to D-3? Would the same scheme sputter at the D-1 level? What do you think Arth needs to learn?
  18. Uh, oh. Looks like Isaiah Childs got a little banged up last night... ^^
  19. Looks like Reece suffered a stinger. Lee promptly runs backwards to lose 6 yards.
  20. Reece sighting! And a rushing first down!
  21. They’re targeting Hooks.
