  1. FWIW, Mikal Dawson "Liked" this tweet.
  2. Not yet. And I'm with you. I could think of a couple reasons the Zips Men's Basketball staff may have for holding off on announcing any signings just yet. (Jared Embick did something similar in announcing the men's soccer recruits last year almost a week after NLOI Day.) So what really makes me nervous is that neither Taylor Currie nor Garvin Clarke have announced that they have signed on their respective twitter pages.
  3. True, but I believe you pointed this out, Kreed, that our cumulative total is 8th in the MAC, but our average recruit ranking puts us 2nd in the MAC, presently, just behind Toledo (IIRC). So that’s a drastic improvement over a typical Bowden recruiting class.
  4. I remember that now that you mention it. Thanks! And Arth made those comments after Kyshad tweeted that enigmatic message. So, yeah, good call!
  5. I don't know if 43 is hurt. I hope he's not transferring. He's a good player. He's not listed by 24/7 sports dot com as being in the Transfer Portal, FWIW. But he tweeted this enigmatic statement on October 24th & I've been worried since...
  6. This guy's one of my favorite Zips already. He bleeds blue & gold and isn't even on campus yet. He seems to have one of those contagiously optimistic personalities much like Mykel Taylor-Bennet or Josh Ward.
  7. No letters of Intent in today... yet (2:15 p.m.). I don't know what kind of competition Taylor Currie is facing at Mott Community College, but he's done well his first two games. This tweet is from his first game: 18 points & 14 rebounds. He did only shoot 33%, so it'd be nice to see a higher shooting percentage. But it was only game #1. This tweet is from Mott's 2nd game: 23 points, 12 rebounds, 4 blocks.
  8. ^^At the 8:18 mark, did he say Xavior Gray "got his 3rd game under his belt"? If so, I guess he'll only be able to play in one of the remaining two games. At the end of the press conference Arth states that Xavior Gray had surgery 3 weeks ago.
  9. Zips postgame press conference
  10. @Dr Z @Captain Kangaroo, can you guys enable the site to allow for more reactions to posts-per-day?
  11. Thanks. Seems simple enough and makes sense. I wonder why 7-year-NFL-vet Ray Bentley (thank you, @ewbrooman1) was so obviously surprised by it?
  12. Our OL looked much improved. I really liked what I saw out of Xavior Gray at LT. He'll retain his redshirt and he looks like he'll be a four year starter. X was the missing element. With X at LT, we were able to move Trevor Brown to RT and shore up the right side of the line, which had been the problem all season long. Peter Hayes-Patrick finally saw considerable game action. I thought he looked pretty good. A few times he zigged when he should have zagged and missed some running lanes, but of course it's easier to see that when you have more of a bird's eye view. Someone lamented that we don't have a big back like EMU's tank. Well, let's keep our fingers crossed that we don't lose the commitment of DeAndre Bulley (6-1, 220). He's tearing up Michigan high school football right now & if we sign him we certainly will. But Hayes-Patrick is a pretty big back himself, coming in at 6-0, 210. It was pretty thrilling see Timothy Scippio with the long TD catch. He's a hard worker who always seems to stay positive, so it's great to see him have a highlight like that. Jeremiah Knight continues to impress. I like Julian Hicks. We were ridiculously deep at WR to begin the season. But the game is won and lost on the line of scrimmage. I'm breathing a sigh of relief that Davon'te Jest is okay. (Last night on twitter he indicated that he is.)
  13. Thank you. If he is unimpressed and downright perplexed with our defensive scheme that carries a lot of weight.
  14. Right around the 7:55 mark of the 3rd Quarter of the EMU game, the ESPN color man noted something above my pay grade and light years beyond George Thomas' competence. He said that the Zips don't block the defense's linebackers? And that he had asked Arth about this perplexing strategy earlier in the week and Arth had said they prefer not to do that as it has something to do with the RPO they run and they like their OL to focus on blocking the DL and, I think he said, "keeping their hands down." I have no idea what that means, but neither did the ESPN color man. I wish I knew who the commentator was, but I believe he is a former player and has seen more than his fair share of football. Anyhow, he went on to say, "I'd love to play linebacker against these guys [Akron]. Last week they put a Bowling Green linebacker in the hall of fame off just one game." This actually sounds like it could be, unlike much of this thread, an insightful criticism and point of discussion.
  15. 247sports dot com ranks Garvin Clarke as the #6 recruit in the state of Ohio (class of '20) and #1 PG/CG in the state (#25 in the nation). Get that young man's signature tomorrow! Go Zips!
  16. Think there will be >1,000 butts-in-seats tonight?
