Here is another very promising QB prospect
Ryan Jankowski, 6'3", 180 of Vero Beach, FL.
His senior year he threw for a 73% completion percentage, 2337 yards, 22TD's to only 4 Int's.
He also has an offer from Indiana.
This is not a verbal commit, but I'd be excited about landing this guy
6'6", 225 dual threat QB Stephon Brown of Independence C.C. Brown is originally from Kernersville, NC. He was rated a 3-star prospect coming out of high school & signed with Appalachian State. He also has an offer from Southern Miss.
I agree. The way he's been playing all year is even better than either of my two all-time favorite Zip PG's Jimmal Ball & Dru Joyce. LCJ has just been unbelievable to watch.
I know Kenny White & Jaquan Green both want to be Zips. Maybe they'll sign February 5th? Green is a JUCO DL; White a JUCO CB.
Here is another commitment:
I was always perplexed with how negative a handful of the posters were on Groce during his first two years when he really had to reboot the program almost literally from scratch.
Why doesn't KD bring the Dukes to the JAR to face the Zips? Seems like a no-brainer. It'd be a sellout. Make the game a cancer awareness game, or have a portion of the gate go toward the I Promise School. Until KD retires from Duquesne we should make it a yearly event.
Good point. You're right, it's probably not a straight plug one guy in for another, but I was thinking our incoming JUCO forward Taylor Currie for Williams. I'm thinking:
Williams - Currie
Cheese - Dailey
Banks - Trimble.
But again, like you said, it probably doesn't work quite like that.
Actually we won't. I noted this in another thread, but Groce is doing a great job of "keeping us old." We've got Bryan Trimble and Maishe Dailey ready to step in next year to take the place of Banks and Cheese. This will give Tribble & Dawson yet another year to develop before we'll really need them to lead.
"Defense travels," and (I'm not sure how Groce managed this, but) this team sincerely takes deep pride in their defense. It seems as if they take not being ranked #1 in the conference in defense personally. Love it! And we now have the athletic depth for all of our players to leave everything on the floor and not have to be concerned with pacing themselves.
I hope we come out and put a python's death grip on NIU's offense & curb stomp them from the get-go. I think we can.
"1-and-0." Every game is a statement game.
