  1. Looks like Reece suffered a stinger. Lee promptly runs backwards to lose 6 yards.
  2. Reece sighting! And a rushing first down!
  3. They’re targeting Hooks.
  4. Last night's first play from scrimmage for De'Andre Bulley. Lol
  5. Excellent. I've always been more concerned with quality over quantity. So the fact we're #2 in the conference in average player rating carries much more weight than the cumulative score, IMO. I don't remember us ever having so many 3-star recruits.
  6. Hey, @Illini Zip, it's actually Garvin Clarke. Garvin, with an "r."
  7. For the Zips look for Bubba Arslanian (Aurora) at LB & Eric Bentley (STVM) at DT. Jonah Morris (Hoban) & Dustin Burkhart (Coventry) are both injured. I think that's it. The rest of the local guys fizzled out ?
  8. I feel so bad for @Captain Kangaroo and @Dr Z and the other moderators who pay for ZN.o to exist. Thanks for continually putting up with this stuff. God bless you guys ?
  9. Damn fine work! Thank you! Very enlightening.
  10. BeaconJournal.com??? No Ohio.com? Maybe this means the Akron Beacon Journal will focus more on Akron? I can only hope... Anyway... ABJ/GT: Zips coach remains upbeat despite loss to rival Kent State
  11. I was thinking the same on Saturday. Brandon Lee should be in the slot. To put it mildly, he's not an every-down RB at this level. I know Deltron Sands got injured early in the game. But if Lee is your #1 every-down back, your cupboard is officially bare. I hate being negative about any player on an open forum. Who knows who reads this. And I love Lee because he's got "Akron" on his chest; he's family now. But, yeah, I say more Burton.
  12. Former Copley star (and injury-prone) RB Weston Bridges is transferring from MSU. Wonder if we have a shot?
  13. Both Larry Nance Jr. and C.J. McCollum wanted to attend UA and KD had scholarships available for neither. Can you believe it? ???
  14. Btw, Gavin Bizeau, who was mentioned in Post #1, has transferred to Toledo. We never did find out what the mass exodus at Duquesne (KD's recruits, mind you) was all about. Screw Duquesne. Go Zips! Go AKRON!
  15. Wow. How unfortunate. At least he can know that he went out on top as he had become a dominant wideout. God bless, Dusty! Forever a Zip!
  16. Lost in yesterday's misery was this^^ bit of good - maybe even great - news! 247 Sports dot com gives Clarke 3-stars Extremely promising scouting report on Garvin from PrepHoops dot com YouTube interview with Euclid coach T.J. Kwasniak - Garvin played at Euclid last year Garvin has length, huge hands & looks explosive, effortlessly dunking in this twitter clip With Garvin and Greg Tribble, we're now seemingly set at PG for the next 5 years. Nice position to be in. Plus, 2021 Zips recruiting target - SG E.J. Farmer - has also transferred to Cleveland Heights, so maybe this gives us an edge in also signing him?
  17. ABJ/GT: Patience will be required to see University of Akron football program achieve success
  18. ABJ & Record Courier/Allen Moff: Flashes take first place, Wagon Wheel with win over rival Zips I appreciate Sean Lewis' moxie, but this gets me fired up: "It's great to be 2-0 in the conference and have two dominant wins. To have our Wheel home, and [win] it in dominant fashion, that's just icing on the cake. I can't wait to paint that Wheel the right colors." That's poster board material.
  19. Top shelf! Thank you, Doc!
  20. Sounds like Joey Marousek suffered a season-ending injury last night, as one of the replies to this tweet reads, "Great season man. Made every Friday worth watching." Keep your head up, Joey! And here's to a speedy and full recovery.
