Kato showed a nice arm & looked really quick when he was out there.

Good call. He's the best high school back I've ever seen. (Including Beanie Wells - who didn't have much of an O-line blocking for him.) Ricky Powers was a little before my time.

Yeah, the zipper was invented in Akron. So it's definitely an old-school nickname. But I like it, it's unique & reflects the community. Zippy the kangaroo came about via a student mascot contest, what, 50-some years ago? I don't have time to google it this a.m. Zippy won sort of as a joke - ala Yale's fight song "Boola Boola." He's a funny mascot who is wimpy, utterly non-threatening & usually runs away from the other teams' mascots. He's a comical mascot, not to be taken seriously. Again, love it. Though Zippy has a pouch, Zippy was always considered a male until recently, when someone pointed out only female kangaroos have pouches. Lol. Now sometimes Zippy's called a "she." Whatever. But it kinda spoils the non-threatening wimpy-ness of Zippy if he's morphed into a female. It throws a politically incorrect curveball at his harmless, wimpy schtick. Another mascot shouldn't want to beat up on a girl. Lol. It ruins the inside joke.

Concerning the D... We look to be stacked like pancakes at DB and DE. But I'm pretty concerned that it looks like we've only got 4 viable DT's: Brock Boxen 6-3, 290 Ibrahima Camara 6-3, 285 Darius Copeland 6-1 275 (though he got pushed around a lot last year) Brennan Williams 6-1 285 (& he hasn't played much thus far in his career) DeAndre Brimage will likely be redshirted. We can't afford an injury at DT. It could derail the season. (Is it strange that we have 18 OL but only 4 DT's?) At LB, we moved two of our best looking prospects to DE: Jamal Davis ii 6-4, 235 Josh Ward 6-2, 240 Though we've got the MAC preseason DPOY in UGIII, this leaves us awfully inexperienced at LB.

Is that a school record or TE record? Anyhow, dude's built like The Incredible Hulk.

I'd love to see a throwback w/ the "Moving A." The old gold pants & helmets w/ the Moving A logo were the uni's the Zips were wearing when I first began following the team. I remember being ticked off when they changed the colors to yellow.
