It's 9:30 a.m. K.ent State still sucks and 12 hours from now Bowden's fate may be sealed.

If we want to go bowling we simply can't afford a loss today. Looking ahead I see only 2 "certain" victories in Buffalo and, of course, K.ent. PSU - L APB - W ISU - L Troy - L BGSU - W ... Ball Sweat - ??? Western MI - L Toledo - L Buffalo - W Miami - L (we never win in Oxford) Ohio - L K.ent - W Even with penciling in a W for today, that's only 4 wins... 5 if we beat Ball Sweat. I'd say we have absolutely no chance to reach 6 wins if we lose today. Win or lose, today is a watershed day for this program moving forward.

The only thing I can think of is that last year's WR class was considered to be weaker than this year's is projected to be. Maybe Jerome was trying to get a jump on the stiffer competition? Idk. But Jerome was just beginning to come into his own as a WR... at the COLLEGE level. But you're right, Balsy - every one of us knew he needed another year to refine his craft.

The video caught me by surprise. I was talking to a friend when another friend tapped me on the shoulder to alert me to the Jason Taylor video... about a minute in. Afterward I gave the video about a 5-second standing ovation. But I guess that was the big moment.

+1 I haven't had a fun time watching a Zips game in a pretty long time. And for a die-hard like me to say that is not a small deal.

^^I had a good view of that play & saw that Sampson had only grabbed him by the jersey. I just figured the refs got the call wrong, which would be really easy to do in that situation. Didn't know the rule had been broadened. Thanks, Doc. P.s., I watched Sampson explaining to Bowden he only grabbed the jersey. I was a bit surprised Akron didn't challenge the call but now understand why they didn't.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe we've had a legit striking forward since Darren Mattocks. Seems to be a weak point in our recruiting efforts. Do striking forwards prefer not to play on a team that values possession & passing?
