  1. Congratulations, Melo, Jake & Reggie on receiving full-ride scholarships to an excellent university and for the opportunity to help contribute to a sincerely up-and-coming basketball program; a program about to make noise on the national level! And congratulations KD & staff on another excellent recruiting class!!! Go Zips!!!
  2. One. Brian Wagner. And how pathetic is the current state of our program when my 2nd & 3rd favorite players on the team are our long-snapper and place-kicker, respectively?
  3. Here is a link for the ESPNU website. While I'm posting this (11/16) Caleb Porter's on the front page of the website. I saw this as I was checking out one of KD's new b-ball recruits, Reggie McAdams, who is ranked by ESPNU as the 5th best player in the state of Ohio. Ooooh, if it weren't for football...
  4. Oh, my. That is really awful news. I never had the pleasure of meeting Mr. McKnight, but, even from my seat in the upper GA on the other side of the arena, I could tell he was a fantastic father! He was always both present and supportive of his boys. Throughout the games I would often see them glance up to his seats in lower reserved. You could sometimes hear Mr. McKnight's shouts of encouragement over all the other ruckus in the JAR. I remember he used to occassionally make funny faces (BIIIIG smiles ) at Chris in order to help get Chris to relax and just enjoy the game. The McKnights used to have the entire team over for lasagna when they'd travel south to play OU. This will be a difficult loss for the McKnight young men. But, if they're anything like their father, and I'm sure they are, they're going to be more than just fine. Prayers.
  5. Here is an interesting article about how Denver Bronco's head coach, John Fox, has altered his offense to play to the limited strengths of Tim Tebow. Just thought it was interesting when we often gripe about iCoach stubbornly sticking w/ the Pro-set.
  6. MAC Sports will be streaming the game on Saturday @ Akron vs Duquense Live Stream 11/19 Thank you!
  7. Man, the mid-majors seem extraordinarily tough this year. Hopefully this is a trend and not an anomaly. "The Establishment" has to be hating this.
  8. Nice! Good show, Eric! This is good for Malone as both they and Walsh are making the move from NIAI to NCAA D-2 (from what I hear).
  9. Real nice! Without professional sports, any chance Akron has to make a blip on the nation's radar is a real positive for the community! Thanks, Dickie-V, baby!!! (& Thanks yet again, 'Bron. Keep shouting out to Akron, baby!)
  10. Here is the link to the GoZips.com video of the iCoach weekly press conference. Right off the bat Tom Gaffney (I think) asks a couple tough questions. 1) "D-1 athletics are about winning. Are you concerned with your job security?" 2) "How are you & the players handling all the losing?" I must admit, iCoach still seems quite upbeat and has his head held high.
  11. Isn't it a 6PM Tip? According to the tourney website, we'll be up 30 minutes after the conclusion of the 5pm CST Duquesne/UDC matchup. According to the Valpo site, 7:30 CST/8:30 EST Gozips.com says 8:30EST Saturday's game is 6pm CST. Is the Valpo game going to be available online anywhere? Verizon League Network?
  12. This rumor is so bizarre and so new that I'm still boggled right now & don't really know what to think. But your angle is what I'm thinking/feeling right now. It just sounds extremely insulting to the current players. And for a single-season fix? It really seems to reek of desperation - which, of course, iCoach is probably feeling right now. If this is true, it can't be taken as a good sign of the over all health of the program. At least with JUCO transfers you get them for two years.
  13. Good point. I had forgotten about that already.
  14. Charlotte defeats CMU by two, 77-75 in OT.
  15. Why did all these guys transfer out? Obviously they thought they'd never see the pitch. All weaker players than Holmes?
  16. Zach...why don't provide some useful information. How were these guys rated and what other offers did they have coming out of HS?? I'm no Zach when it comes to leg-work like this, but Dayne Crist was a 5-star QB Anthony McDonald was a 4-star LB Dan McCarthy was a 4-star DB Deion Walker was a 4-star WR Brandon Newman was a 4-star DT David Posluszny was a 3-star LB Lane Clelland was a 4-star OL Hafis Williams was a 3-star DT This is such an unconventional/bizarre situation that I don't even know what to think about it. [edit] I see that, no surprise, not only did Zach beat me to this, but was also much more thorough. And, my question, they'd all have to sit a year, right? This is weird.
  17. lilroodude is a quick learner!!
  18. The link doesn't work. Just tell us.
  19. Or Miami...Coles always has a tough squad. There are no easy teams this year in the East. How is BG this year??? BUGS gave Georgia, another SEC team, all that they could handle. 63-54.
  20. Like I said when I started this thread, unlike the Ianello threads, this one is just for fun. No one in their right mind would think they could do a better job than Porter. But have fun with this, if you'd do something differently, don't be afraid to point it out. I just think it's dissappointing that Holmes has not added as much to the team as I was expecting. And not personally having much knowledge of the beautiful game, I'm simply mystified.
