I know the media relations department sent out information to all the stations in town when Zippy was named as one of the 12 in the contest. Since then, I don't know if they did anything to inform them that Zippy went undefeated and is in the finals. Regardless, Channel 3 has been running a spot at least once a week to remind everyone to vote for Zippy. This will also be Zippy's third live appearance on the morning show.
-
Because none of the other stations care. Channel 3 will take full credit when Zippy is crowned the 2007 Capital One Mascot of the Year. Why isn't Zippy making the rounds and appearing on every station? Who is asleep at the switch on this one? -
ZIPPY WINS! It's the Finals against Goldy! GO ZIPPY!!!
-
Well, while the Zips basketball team did a choke job last night, Zippy stumbled a little bit as well. Her lead is down to less than 500.
-
Last night was certainly an improvement from Monday, but the Rowdies are still a far cry from where they need to be.

Akron received 0 votes in the AP and USA Today polls this week. Miami got 3 in the AP and 10 in the USA Today. OU got 2 in the AP. Looks like that loss is already hurting any chances we had of inching up the rankings. Of course Miami already beat Xavier and played USC close. College Insider has not released the new Mid Major Top 25 yet today.

5 minutes left and up by about 120.

Zippy is down about 50 at 6:30 on Sunday morning. Come on folks! We need one more big push.
-
HOO-RAY!! Zips Win!

Is this what happens when the football team is declared "out of it?" You guys are like the guys on PTI and Around the Horn, except with mascots. I love it! GO ZIPPY! I think once the playoffs start, I may have to try to get Zippy on Channel 3 again.
You may be on to something there. Looking at the early trends, Cosmo is looking at blowing out Cocky, but Otto is a lost cause.Hairy Dawg and Monte are putting up very tough fights right now, but we can't let them win. I realy really don't want to face them in the playoffs.
I'd lean Cosmo over Cocky. Cocky is also a former winner and also part of the rabid SEC. Brigham Young does have a larger enrollment at 33300 vs. 23700.I would think we'd want Otto over Seymour. Support for Seymour has been sad but enrollment and moral at Syracuse is pretty low. Prop Otto up to get him into the playoffs and then let him finally go away.Totally agree with the rest of your picks. Really want to knock Goldy and HairyDawg outta here. Big schools and alumni base.Go Zippy! So Zippy is now 9-0 thanks to the great efforts made by many Zips fans over the last two months. Now it is crunch time. With two weeks left, lots of schools are vying for the remaining playoff spots. Here's how we need to vote this week inorder to ensure ourselves a better chance once the playoffs commence:Cocky over Cosmo - I still don't know why, but Cosmo just scares me and I think he could be a major force if given the chanceSeymour over Otto - Poor Seymour has had a very rough time in this competition, with only three wins.Zippy over Goldy - Goldy could be a tough one given the size of the U of Minnesota if they ever get organisedCavman over Big Red - Cavman is practically in, and we can eliminate Big Red either now or next week. I say now.Joe Bruin over Monte - Monte must lose this week! Under no circumstances can he be allowed to win.Hokiebird over HairyDawg - HairyDawg is in it to win it, and those Georgia fans can be nuts, as can be any SEC fans. A win and they get in, which can not be allowed. So congrats on 9-0! We're almost there, but there's still work to be done to make sure we have an easier road through the playoffs. -
Haha! Nice! For fun, Google "miami ohio football" then click on "images" and look at the first picture that pops up. -
OU beat NMSU in basketball the other day. Hats off to them in representing the conference. Hopefully the MAC can pull off a few other high-profile wins here and there, just none by Can't.

Yea, that was from Dambrot Appreciation Night, which explains my shirt. After this game was when I went back to implementing the "Tuck Rule" -- fat guys don't tuck their shirts in.....But hey, bum...blow it up to full screen and stop at 1:25 and you can see yourself holding the sign with the rowdies. I'm somewhere a row behind. -
I like how my Nate Linhart MVP sign made it in!
-
I couldn't make the game, but based on that first picture I see a lot of empty Rowdies seats. Let's hope those are full for regular season games. RowdyZip and myself just got our season tickets and are ready for Binghamton.

Maybe Temple doesn't suck.....At least now I feel better about losing to them....
-
Thanks for the post. I still can't believe I turned it off.
-
Nevermind..... www.sportsradio1350.com has it live

Anyone got a link online to listen to this game? I'm too far away to get it on the radio.

I know I normally give a blowout score, but this one's going the other wayWMU 33Zips 13

At 1:45 this morning, Zippy is down 6! MAKE THE PUSH!!!
-
Hmm.....Great information. Now I'm really interested to see if anyone has ever finished with just one point. From the NCAA rulebook: A team may score 1 point if they return the opposing team's 2pt conversion attempt back for a touchdown. The more you know -
Well, it wouldn't be a Bleacher Bum prediction if it wasn't a blowout.....Akron 687UCONN 1I know, I know, there's no way to score one point, but the officials will feel so bad for UCONN getting blown out that they will spot them one point.

Zippy's down 88 at 2:30 Friday morning. And GoZips88, there's not much I can do since John Anderson is the one who has been pushing Zippy on TV and I believe he's on vacation next week.
Zippy to Appear on WKYC-TV Friday Morning
