He was let go when everyone else was. Must be a misprint or something.

The game between can't and Akron is Friday on ESPN2 not Thursday as the power rankings say.
-
Wow! Pretty much what everyone at ZN.O has been saying for some time. Hopefully Tom W. will read this and realize that something needs to be done.

5 a.m. conditioning is a norm among all College football programs before Spring Football starts. But to have people come in on a Saturday is tough business. I bet those guys think twice about not going to class next time.

They really didn't play that well - in the 1st half, Buffalo could not get a shot to drop (shades of VCU). It's a win and I'll take it, but Buffalo had a game like we did at VCU. It happens.I thought Akron played the best 10 minutes of basketball they have played all year to start this game. Buffalo wasn't hitting shots but the defense had a lot to do with that. Everything was clicking on offense as well. To say we didn't play that well in a 10 point win that wasn't even that close is being a typical northeast Ohio/Cleveland fan. What more do you people want from this team?

Well that win gives us the all important 1st round bye in the Mac Tourney. 2 more wins away from #1 seed! Go Zips!
-
hey it took us 2 timeouts to draw up that play!!! haha if KD took a 3rd timeout brett would have made that shotthat's what bothers me. two timeouts to draw up....nothing.The problem with the play was Mcknight settled for a fade away jump shot and didn't go strong to the hoop.

Humpty and C. McKnight seem to be having good games as well. I believe if Humpty wouldn't have been suspended against EMU we would have won that game.
-
I'm sure everyone will be on after the game saying how much faith they had in this team and knew the EMU game was just one game. Probably the same people that said the ceiling falling and gave up hope. This team will be ready when the MAC Tourney comes around. GO ZIPS!

This Ad is at least over a year old so I would have to think it was made while Zippy was at ESPN making the mascot of the year commercials.

I thought they were wagon wheels.....The stars have been on the helmets since JD has been HC. They are special teams awards for good plays. This is just the first year the stickers are spread out over the helmet and not put in a line on the back of the helmet.

The difference between Field Turf and Astro play is pretty simple. Astro play simply has ground up rubber mixed in the thread while Field Turf has the rubber and sand. They are two different surfaces made by different people. They are very similar besides the sand being mixed in with the rubber. All our surfaces we have on campus and at rubber bowl are Astro Play!

Rutgers narrows athletic-director search to three top finalists

I believe the renovations they are talking about in the JAR are going to be better locker rooms and study areas for the players. -
Flemming would have no trouble switching the defensive scheme. He didn't use the 3-3-5 until he came to Akron. Coach Wallerstat taught him the defense even though Flemming is the D-Cord. Since Wally left our defense has been worse. How do you expect a coach to teach a system he didn't teach before coming here? Flemming is a great coach but maybe the system is holding him back a little.

Care for Some Holiday Gumbo or Jumbalaya?

If Akron beats Buffalo and still drops a final game and UB wins out, it will be a tie at 7-5 with Buffalo going instead of us because they will have beaten BG, OU, and Temple. Akron has lost to BG and a loss to OU or Temple splits the decision and would mean we lost to two teams UB beat (as I understand the tie-breaker system this gives Buffalo the advantage, please correct me if I am wrong). Buffalo then still goes to the MACCOnly way this plays out is if Temple would be the team that beats us and are also tied. The first tie breaker would be head to head so if we beat buffalo and finished tied with them and only them we win the tiebreaker. -
We couldn't have asked for anything better than what has happened in the Mac East this week. While we are sitting at home getting healthy all the teams we need to lose get beat. Now we must take care of business.
-
Hopefully we can get a little help from NIU. That would make it so we would control our own destiny in the East.
-
Big game tonight as far as we are concerned on espn2. Since Temple already has 3 loses in conference play it would be nice to see Temple come out with a win and leave us alone at the top of the East Division. Although we still play both these teams it would nice to have a little breathing room. What does everyone else think?

Steve French can't see them as it stands now...PLEASE don't shrink them! The reason the numbers are so big on the blue uni's is because they covered the printed on numbers with sown on numbers and to cover them up completely they had to use a bigger font. But I agree French can't see the numbers now so once you put him up in that high press box at the info maybe they shouldn't make them much smaller at all.

Only 65 players are able to travel to away games. Although Akron will most likely take a bus load of the non travel squad guys but they will not be permitted to dress for the game.
-
Perhaps JD (or is that Moorhead....I'm still confused from the ESPN Classic coverage.......This was actually Bill Bliel they were showing the entire game on ESPN Classic. Moorhead should be upstairs in the booth (that would limit those looks to the sideline). Moorhead is in the press box not on the field .

I heard on the radio last week that the new score board at Dix Stadium was vandalized. Has anyone else heard about this? I heard it was going to cost $10,000 in damages.

First off KC Patterson was not very good. They didn't even allow him to run Scout team QB because he wasn't good enough. Also I wouldn't get any hopes up for Jordan Miller because Freshman QB's rarely are ready and need to have a red shit year to learn the system. Plus i've heard that he isn't very good anyways. That leaves us with Jac, Rodgers, and Wagner. I would say its a 2 man race between Rodgers and Jac. But imo JAC will be the starter and remain the starter unless he gets hurt before game 1.
