  1. Ohio's guards play in slow motion compared to VCU's
  2. I must admit that my heart sunk a bit when I heard the pairing. Partly because I follow and root for both schools, partly because I'd rather take on a power conf rather than another "mid" but most of all because VCU's guards get after the ball like nobody else. We turned it over 20 times with Alex against them last year so who knows how many this year? Still, there are things that we can do to take some of the pressure off of CB. Last year, we brought some bigs down into the back court to deal with their press and get the ball up the floor. Q was used as the primary guy to do this so one would assume that Nick will be the guy this season. Not so much as CB's backup at the point but at the 3 position. We can also toss it up to Zeke and allow him to outlet away from the bulk of the pressure. We can win this game, hell, we took them to OT last year with 20 TOs. CB went from being a boy to a man in Cleveland and if he continues to progress we'll be OK. I just hate that one of us will be gone after one game.
  3. In the what could have been dept. Q hawking DJ all night would be pretty effective but Harney will do a good job.
  4. Both Taylor and Reggie get axed after bringing up their programs from ruins. It just seems odd and I'll miss Reggie, good guy.
  5. That was a great call. Not sure he's up for the task against a ball hawking DJ tonight though. He did a great job and Bentencourt was pretty solid too but we must be very, very careful bringing it up the floor with Coop in our shorts.
  6. Who was the mastermind that suggested this ? Oh yeah, I almost forgot while secretly coaching the Zips from my Lazy Boy and section
  7. He simply took over the game in the late going... All those drives to the hole ain't gonna pay off on Friday though. I like our chances
  8. may not need that to tire them out... both are poor defensive teams and there should be a quick paced, up and down the floor type game
  9. No he won't ever, that's how bad and slow Ball State was. I told my wife the guy gets 30 tonight and may not have 7 against k ent . The F lashes are far from a defensive power though.
  10. It may be wise to keep a body on Regan. Ball State was always a step slow on defense. Have a nice bus ride back to Muncie and thanks for playing.
  11. Long overdue for Keith. As far as DJ, it pains me to say so but I think he deserved it. Their run in the tourney last year sealed the deal.
  12. Before the season is over and before I forget to do so I would just like to thank Mr. Thomas for his coverage of the Zips this season. 100% better than what had been the past norm IMO and a job very well done. Great article on Tree !! It appears that these two have developed a great relationship.
  13. Perhaps if we could surround Trey with middle school talent, move father Ernie to his head coach and schedule Ferris State twice a week he could once again dominate games while still shooting 30%. Young Trey was the most overhyped player to enter the MAC ever.I was very surprised, make that shocked, that Dixon even wanted him.
  14. None of them are exactly Seattle Slew.
  15. how about walsh at the one and reggie at the 2 ??
  16. I'm sure it will surprise nobody that I would start Chauncy and bring Harney off the bench. Nick just seemed to be a better player in that role. Chauncy's jumper has not been going in sohe can best be used by spreading the floor, allowing him to drive the ball to the hole or kicking it out. Same with Nick as well. The couple of times that #23 drove the last two games some good things resulted.
  17. It's only over if we are all a bunch of two bit quitters. I'm ready to fight on with more energy than ever. Don't give up damn it !!
  18. Damn Right !!! This is not the end. I'll reserve judgement until all legal proceedings have taken place but if true we are all better off without him. Brian can run the point in a pinch as well Bentencourt. Chauncy can slide in at the 2 along with Jake and Reggie . I believe Deji can paly a bit of both as well. We still beat the guys in yellow and we still win the damn MAC. I'm so fired up I'm breathing fire.
  19. Walsh is the ultimate team player. He couldn't care less if he gets 17 or 7 pts. All he cares about is helping his team win. His weak side rebounding has led us to many a win and has been a very overlooked feature in which he excels. And Zeke... What can you say, I just love this guy. We've seen him choke back emotion at various times and situations. I know it will be so heart warming when he, Mama Zeke and Keith embrace. I'll be surprised if the big guy doesn't shed a tear. I wish I could give him a hug too. He's such a special kid, I'll miss him.
  20. Anybody else get somewhat emotional on Senior nights?? I have always fought it back but I admit it, I do. These guys almost feel like family to us after watching them grow into great young men while at UA. In Chauncy, Brian and Zeke we have 3 guys here who truly exemplify the meaning of being great people, great students as well as being great players. I'm really going to miss these three. This one is going to be really tough........
  21. I agree, the A10 is probably the most balanced conference this year with their new additions. I've seen a lot of Temple and VCU and both feature great guard play and are a lot of fun to watch. And you have to feel good about the rise of St. Louis who dedicated their season to big Rick. VCU's constant pressure can really wear a team down in the 2H as it did with Richmond last night. Hell, even St Joe and St Bonny can reach up and bite someone if they don't bring their A game.
  22. Detroit has so much more talent than Valpo but the Titans are not the smartest team on the planet. Still, they should beat Valpo no matter the location.
  23. I've been wondering if when all is said and done does Zeke get a banner?? Has he done enough?
  24. I thought the same thing, I watched him D up off the ball at all times and he did a solid job of that. He also had a real nice drive and kick to Alex for an easy 3. The boxscore says he got 5 minutes but I'd swear it was more than that. I love his emotion on the floor and that is one thing this team seems to lack. He is an asset to this program.
  25. Soooo..... Who expects the quickness of Rollins and Roberts to pressure our guards into mistakes or turnovers tonight ?? Anybody here still remember that we are about to tip vs. the Redskins ?? I still miss Chauncy .....
