  1. Not so fast my friend, Lee Corso and myself are worried about this one. The Bulls are probably the only team in the MAC that can match up with us down low with quality bigs. We beat them at home regularly but needed hit a lot of FTs at 90% to do it last year. I think we win but it will be tough. When I look at the Bulls roster, I am surprised that they are not doing better than they are. They have legit talent.
  2. Not exactly a major shock considering the members of the team brawled in the stands at an early season tourney last season. I know a couple guys down there and they consider Stansbury to be a joke of a coach.
  3. Good post, you are correct about the attitude of the team and how very important it is . Sunday should have provided a huge wake up call to everybody associated with this team. The have to want it bad and and have the fire to get it done. Sometimes it seems like the guys think that they can just toss their jerseys on the floor and scare the other team into submission. I was actually thinking that getting their butts kicked all over the floor may be good for this bunch in the long run but your post has me worried. Their response vs. a decent and dangerous Buffalo team should tell us quite a bit about this teams character.
  4. This time I agree with some of Lumberjacks observations. I have been saying all along that CG should not be sitting at the expense of number 5. That's just not right, in fact it is rather silly. I can also understand the same argument for Tree and Nik as well. He's also correct in that our inside / out game has gone in the crapper. We were a better inside / out team last year and have better shooters this season in Walsh and CG which makes no sense to me at all. As several have pointed out, we can get by against the lesser teams we face but often get exposed by solid teams. I'm not a 'wait till next year" type but I think the coaching staff will have to make changes next season as we become even more athletic. Addition by subtraction if you will. The thing is, who are our best defenders ? Other than Zeke on the block, I really don't know. AA couldn't stay in in front of anybody last night and thats where it all starts. Our perimeter D in general was just awful. Just my opinion but I think that the reason that OU has our number is that Groce has a great formula for success against us. He holds our kyrptonight right in his hands. What is that?? He spreads the floor with great spacing and great ball movement. We are a step slow to the ball with regularity and especially in the corners and they kill us with the 3 ball. DJ owned AA last night no doubt about it. He was able to do as he pleased and he's too good with the ball to have an advantage such as he had last night. Once he drives and dishes it's all over as long as they are shooting a decent %. The biggest problem with the results of last night, to me, is that we allowed them to get into our heads and we flat out quit. That is troubling. We regrouped after a similar scenario at OU late last season. Do we have the character to do so this year?? I'm not so sure.
  5. Perhaps, there has been no greater example of the old expression, the inmates are running the asylum.
  6. True but anybody can look good when the other side throws the ball away and doesn't defend. I seem to recall that too B&G.
  7. I've heard through some friends and social media that your suspicions may well be true. They have been said to have serious problems behind the closed doors. I don't think that they have any respect for Senderhoff and not much for each other as well. It shows on the floor too.
  8. Excellent posts, CK & 19.
  9. You're right. We caught a bit of their last game with k ent and my wife noticed it right away. He was pale and had a towel wrapped over his neck and shoulders which I had not ever observed in the past. Hope it is just a virus but he's in there for further testing, I'd bank on that. I love how that story was written. " being held" like it was very much against Charlie's will. I'm sure that it was.
  10. BG will beat K ent Saturday. Right now, they are simply a better team than the golden felons.
  11. I need no analysis to attempt to explain what is wrong with #5. He's lost his confidence, he's lost his game. My heart bled for him tonight, watching him was painful.
  12. Bulls get crushed at home..... hmmm, I seem to remember another OU team, in recent years, that really got it rolling late in the year.
  13. You guys do a great job. Well produced and well done to all involved.
  14. I have a vested interest in this game and agree. Under in the EMU game as well
  15. No doubt that number 5 finds himself in a real catch 22. He needs minutes to shoot well but frankly, he has done nothing to deserve them or is likely to get them. Face it, he's had some just awful games for us. When he hit that huge 3 against Can't to get that run started I was hoping that he was getting back his form but it just wasn't to be. I feel bad for him but we need our best on the floor. He's not the first senior in college basketball to be bumped from his starting spot. The tough part is that he's always hustled and played hard and I am sure this situation has been eating him up. Through it all though, I can still see him helping this team down the stretch. The shooting stroke and putting have a lot in common. When you get that confidence going the hole starts looking like a hula hoop. I believe that lack of confidence is the root of the problem. You just can't play scared and play well. Also, I always thought of him as a catch and shoot guy, not so much as a guy that needed to get his feet set. Maybe I'm all wet.
  16. That's been the popular number. Why not?
  17. If I had a vote for MAC coach of the year and had to vote today, Louis Orr would probably get my vote . I think he gets just about all he can out of his team. The best word I can use to describe them would probably be "pesky". It's just tough to make them go away. Akron 65 BG 60 Todd K over at Toledo has to be another strong candidate for coach of the year. The improvement in the Rockets from Dec to Feb has been almost scary. It's tough for guys like Keith to win this award because so much is expected of us every year. I do think he deserves strong consideration for his work with this YOUNG team. I'd be curious to read other's opinions on coach of the years as well
  18. Without looking, I'd think that would have been one of the years when Wally played for Miami ???
  19. Awesome Yaz, thanks much !!
  20. A year or two ago somebody posted a great picture here which I saved to my computer but somehow it was erased. It was at a womens game where a visiting lady was at the free throw line and in the rowdy section was a chubby young man clad in a bikini in an attempt to distract her. It was hilarious. If anybody has this saved could you please post. Thanks
  21. Don't get me wrong because I agree with much of the previous post, like 99% of it . However, I believe that the Zips would have made the Canada ( or wherever else abroad) trip no matter if they were a young or veteran squad. Under NCAA rules such trips can only be taken in a given period and it was simply our time to go. I could be wrong and have zero doubts that I'll be corrected if so. Is it frustrating that we did not win at ORU? Certainly. Was it a shock that we lost ? Not at all. Toss in a dash of seasoning and poise and we'll beat 'em by 20 next season.
  22. Even though KD was quick to say that ORU took away the inside I do tend to agree with you. They did do a pretty good job of smothering Zeke but quick inside /out passes could have been executed. Seems like we saw much more of that in our offensive game last year and very little of it this year. Still, we had a lot of wide open outside looks that came up short. Good post
  23. Catchy beat, I can dance to it. I'll give it a solid 8.5/10. She has a sweet voice ! Nice effort
  24. It almost reminded me of the ND game last year in the sense that ND really didn't do much to beat us, we beat ourselves with horrid shooting.
  25. 16th youngest team in the nation. Anybody here ever consider that ?
