  1. I think that Jake needs to get a little more air under his shot. When you shoot line drive jumpers the shot has to be perfect to drop. You just can't get friendly bounces or rim rattlers to drop when your shot is so flat. A higher arc allows for a little more margin of error. Hopefully he can get some help with this as I feel it is a flaw that can be corrected. Just my opinion from watching him live at the games.
  2. Well stated. Congrats to my favorite Zip !!
  3. Nick !! Lose those green and pink things on your feet. Obviously, they are evil and the cause of your mini slump.
  4. A win is a win but we had 3 guys that were just horrible tonight. Bentancourt, Harney and Jake were all just awful. Thankfully Tree, Zeke and Chauncy were all on top of their games. I have to think that when it comes down to crunch time in the big games that we will have our best on the floor a little more. It makes me ill to see Chauncy lose minutes to guys that can't even carry his jock.
  5. Harney... Wow, just wow. What the hell is he doing out there??
  6. Betancourt.... wow.. just wow. more than half of our TOs in just 6 minutes. Tree and Zeke having a lot of fun out there. I feared a letdown but they came to play,
  7. Toledo has considerable talent but has been wildly inconsistent. They will be fired up for us and other than our trip to Athens this figures to be our next stiffest MAC road game. Since they can not play in the post season we will have a large target on our backs. Coming off a hard fought win over our big rival, we may be heading into an ambush.
  8. I agree with that for the most. We can debate all day who would be the Zip MVP at this point ( My vote would be split between Tree and Zeke for the time being) but to me Chauncy is the face of the Zips for the reasons that you stated. This team needs more Chauncy and less Jake on the floor. That was the difference betwen the two halves at Can't St IMO. Don't get me wrong, Jake looks like he'll have a big impact on our team in years ahead but he's not there yet and Chauncy is.
  9. I went a sizzling 2-4 on opening night. Probably my poorest showing ever. The shocker of the night IMO was NIU going down to Oxford and beating Miami who had not ben playing badly as of late.
  10. Akron takes on you know who. I wasn't sure we would be here for the game but we will be. Knowing that, I logged into ticket master and much to my surprise some great lower reserved seats can still be had. We're in section B row G. So if you like to be close to the action go ahead and take the plunge. I must admit, I'm surprised that these hadn't sold out early. I guess the interest in the F lashes is down a bit this season
  11. Deji's block was amazing. He just might have the best hops in a Zips uniform since Quade. Very pleased with the rotation and minutes played by everybody. This team will go as Nick and Tree go. It's up to those two to emerge as leaders. Crowd was pretty dead today, I guess we'll have to wait for classes to begin again to get some energy flowing through the JAR.
  12. Seems like whe weakest bunch that Waters has had up there. Grady is a hell of a player and makes them dangerous but he's out for quite some time after the meniscus tear. I think that the Zips are about to tee off on somebody and what better day than today?? Zips by 18-20
  13. Oh come on now, you do remember the Bryan Hipsher era don't you??
  14. Not that it mattered tonight but lets continue to give Jake K more minutes on the floor than anybody else. I see that he went one for eight tonight following his smooth one for five in Detroit. I'll expect to see him on the floor for no less than 30 min vs CSU Sunday.
  15. Good, I check back then. In the meantime I'll sell some great seats cheap for anybody who wants to see games that don't matter squat.
  16. I'm pissed off. This team has no mental toughness and I mean none. What's with the love affair for Kretzer?? I have no idea why he is getting so many minutes. He may or may not develop into a very good player but he's certainly not there yet, nowhere close . AA was really, really bad and Bentancourt can't hit a 3 footer. other than Tree and Chauncy this team was awful today and that includes the suit.
  17. While nobody was going stop McDermott entirely I have to think that what we lack is the "lock down defender". I found myself wondering how he would have done faced up with a guy like Nate Linhart or Jimmy Conyers. My guess is not nearly as well as he did today. I was fool enough to think the 10' points was a gift prior to the tip. I once again now painfully realize that we are what we are. Bring on the MAC.
  18. Oh, how I do recall. Your one liner almost resulted in a coffee covered keyboard.
  19. I have found that often when a game is part of ESPN's Full court package it is blacked out on the Fox sports channels. Sometimes they slip through the cracks but it's a crap shoot.
  20. Said it before and worth repeating. Mr. Thomas has done a great job of covering the Zips from day one. His takes are usually spot on and always well written.
  21. They do a nice job with their website. Nice pics and use of their team colors. Very attractive, thanks for link.
