  1. I'm somewhat surprised to see us open up as a 7' point chalk in this match up. I expected 4-5 or so. As far as Frye is concerned. I'm not sure how his departure will play out. BG does possess decent depth so I believe that they can overcome this. Huger is a very competent coach so I suspect he can pull the right strings to make it all work out. They will probably be more athletic and this will open the door for the freshman Ziegler to jump into the fray and get more minutes. He impressed me while at Benedictine and I believe he will evolve into a solid MAC player.
  2. Pretty nice night off for the Zips as It's not too often when the West sweeps the East. However, when they do I prefer that we don't participate.
  3. I can't recall them. It was usually Mokie Cole playing, 3.2 % beer flowing and hot chicks everywhere .
  4. Other than Filthy McNasty's in my youth and Ray's Place currently, I have yet to find anything else I like about the whole damn city. I'll be there tonight. Anybody else?
  5. Apparently, sarcasm does not translate well for the masses on message boards.
  6. What baffles me more is somebody calling out Deng by name and blaming him, and only him, for the loss. I just can't pathom it either.
  7. Random ramblings.... Big winner of the day appears to be C Mich who took down Ball St and got McKay back into the lineup. on the same day. Coupled with Toledo's loss they find themselves right in the thick of things in the west. Frye played out of his mind tonight for BG. Their stock has risen sharply since the return of Turner. It's no accident that they are right there with us at the top. With arguably the MACs best trio Toledo just doesn't seem to have enough around them. They seriously lack any quality depth at all. Not at all sold on Todd being any great shakes as a coach either. Buffalo's defense is horrible. I look for a BIG statement W on Tuesday. The Bulls are an average MAC squad. No better, no worse. Last but not least, we have the most exciting player in the league by far. Just love watching LCJ play.
  8. Great place to shoot though with the black background
  9. Fearless 2nd half prediction: All players on both teams foul out with several minutes remaining. The 3 overzealous officials decide the outcome with a game of 3 way scuttle. Love the defense so far but the whistles have taken over the game. No flow at all
  10. Keep eye out for Bam Bowman. Bam had some injury woes and came back in less than playing shape. His minutes have now been increasing and he's got some game. He'll go off soon one of these nights. Hopefully it's not Tuesday.
  11. I like Sayles and Deng a lot. Both guys hustle and play up to their abilities. They are certainly not the only bigs around with less than a stellar touch. Both are competent players and an asset to the Zips. Now this dude had some bad hands yet he adapted quite nicely.
  12. Toledo played great and we lost a basketball game. Get a grip, it's not the end of the world.
  13. Toledo lacks quality depth, just might wear them down
  14. Obviously the basket is bigger on that end of the floor
  15. Rockets getting their pace and anything they want on offense.
  16. Lazy close outs on Knapke. Can't have that.
  17. By far my favorite game at the Q and fondest memory of the UT basketball program. This game and the conviction of the Rocket's Sammy Villegas, among others, for shaving points back around 2005 are the first two things I think of when they come to town.
  18. For your amusement only, no wagering here. Akron -6 139 Put me down on the over for a popcorn and pepsi.
  19. Knapke's strengths: He's tall He has a nice stroke The end
  20. And looking like crap in the process. They have about as many offensive fouls as they do field goals.
  21. The line has dropped from 3' by a full point so Northern has received some considerable financial backing. Akron -2' / 136
  22. A couple of things that I noted from the weekend games.... Justin Turner appears to be getting back into the swing after dropping 29 on the road vs. the Kittens. He's obviously the man for BG and they were largely far less than impressive while he was out, and after just coming back, with a bad hammy. It seems that he's now back into playing shape so the Falcons should be much better moving forward. I wouldn't dismiss their chances just yet. Kent was far less than impressive vs C Mich but keep in mind that they played without their best big, Whittington, who according to reports was ordered to have no contact with the team after coming down with a nasty flu virus. It's a situation to keep an eye on because the Flashes could certainly be vulnerable in Oxford if he's still out or not at his best Tuesday.
