  1. Maybe they heard we are moving to the Big East and removed our banner.
  2. I'd be interested to know exactly what a basic outsider who is new to the program sees that makes them think that the President is trying to use UF's model of success. Will you elaborate? As for Florida being an elite educational institution, I do not hate Gators, but I have noticed that the farther south I go, the smarter I become.
  3. SEC membership
  4. I'm pretty sure icoach probably had breakfast with JT at some point also. Probably focused discussion on how dumb JT was to have attended Akron rather than ND. Seriously, do you think it ever occurred to icoach to enhance our program by cultivating relationships with Zip footballers who had gone on to enjoy some success at the pro level? I wouldn't be surprised if during the Bowden regime we designate one or two games a year as (insert name here) Day where we bring the guy back and give him a some kind of memento at halftime. This could beneficial in so many ways; game attendance, recruiting, fund raising.
  5. Hey, don't be selling us short. We have the capability to lose to worse teams than either of those two.
  6. The one thing I can't figure out from reading this article is whether Wagner has decided to transfer.
  7. Until I see each player's free throw rate for the game I will withhold judgement.
  8. Why did CUSA call Temple, did they want to know if Temple was going to enjoy being in the Big East?
  9. 1. precisely. 2. is that what it tells you? Zeke goes to the line more than 60 times a game? Yeah, it's pretty worthless.
  10. I'll go with the Zips by 14.
  11. Hey I don't feel bad about it. Even guys who supposedly know these new stats have trouble figuring out what they are. http://kenpom.com/blog/index.php/weblog/stats_explained/ One question, are there any basketball stats now being kept that are more worthless than this one.
  12. Wow, this is full of interesting information. If Marshall's free throw rate of 68.4 is 44th in the nation, imagine where Brian Walsh's 82.5 percent from the line ranks.
  13. According to espn we have a new transfer linebacker, Brian Wagner. http://espn.go.com/college-sports/football...2006/class/2012
  14. If you aren't smart enough to get a degree in education the world is not your oyster.
  15. and after that shot, the rim was shaken, not stirred.
  16. A school that is the third best in its state and could whip our ass in almost all sports. I'll take it.
  17. That's a pretty lofty goal given our current situation. I would be thrilled if we could become the Tulsa of Ohio.
  18. Spending time trying to figure out ways to get students to the game is pretty much time wasted. Nearly ALL commuter schools like Akron suffer from poor student attendance at sporting events; always have and probably always will. At such schools you tend to have a lot of first-generation college students taking full course loads and working at least part time. For the most part they are just too busy to attend games and there is almost nothing that can be done to get them to attend. At schools like Butler where most of the students are in residence, they don't have a job to worry about and going to the game is something to fill some time. Best way to improve student attendance - increase the number of dorm students by about 1,000%.
  19. Oh Grate One, let me lead you toward the light. First, he already has over 30 years of service. Second, at 30 years of service the payout is equal to 66 2/3% not 75%. Third, after 30 years, each service year would add about $9,000 after tax to JTs annual retirement pay - chump change.
  20. You do realize his retirement income is petty cash compared to the money he married into don't you? And he has already maxed out his retirement benefit.
  21. I have a grip and I was not bitching. I was pointing out an instance where crime does not pay. Has the facilities rotting process commenced? How long will they take to completely rot?
  22. Let's see, he has to walk around wearing a scarlet letter (except that it's gold instead of red) and took more than a 90% pay cut. That my friend is evidence that crime does not pay.
  23. Plenty, why?
  24. Well it's about time. Everyone in Akron spends at least 23 hours per day thinking, dreaming and worrying about how things are going in Lehigh.
  25. I think TPS might be on to something here. I'm going to have to agree with Zips by 14.
