The athletic Depatment. They are in panic mode down there right now. There have been numerous meetings with other department heads in the last 2 weeks trying to come up with some way to get the students to come to another home game. Free Beer. Anything else will not work. Which also brings to light the other way to get people to tolerate horrible football -- Sell beer on the patio overlooking the north end of InfoCision. There's nothing worse than a "dry" wedding reception. Or: Sell re-entry tickets for $3.00. People can go drink in the lot at halftime, then re-enter. UA gets $3.00...and doesn't have the liability of selling alcohol in the stadium. And they get another couple hundred butts added to the attendance. No go ahead and steal my ideas, UA employee. Pass them along to TW and act like they are your own. I need your pledge right now Capt. that from now on you will never give me money.

Before I can comment I need clarification on a couple of things. 1. What does your client sell besides inventory? and 2. what's the difference between a price point and a price? Widgets & whatsits in the medical device arena. The model is pretty different than drywall since there's: 1. Growth in the overall industry (not great, but it's there), and 2: Manufacturing is entirely outsourced. So inventory doesn't need to be moved to clear production space, it's already on hand. Also, there's not an intermediary retailer for the stuff, it's pretty much sold right to the consumer. Still cannot respond. The first question was not what type of inventory do you sell, it was what do you sell other than inventory, and I still don't know the difference between a price point and a price.

You really ought to go with a black and red striped shirt, knit hat and black, round glasses. If I did people might think I was a member of the pep band. Pay attention, they change hats about 6 times during the game.

Apparently news of Zipmeister's impending attendance has hit the Dayton area and over 12,000 other people now also plan to attend. Unfortunately, my Zippy outfit is not expected back from the cleaners in time for the contest. Simply look for the incredibly good looking guy sitting behind the baseline end of the bench with a yellow shirt - that will be me.

Dayton has a really good team this year so next Tuesday's game at the Flyer's home court should be a tough one for the Zips. One of the main things the Zips will have going for them is the Zipmeister sitting right behind the Akron bench.

Fanhouse/McManamon with Ianello, Wistrcill

That quote came from your Dad's mouth. -
On the offensive side, I would agree...except for TE & FB. We need some talented receivers and some consistent line play more than anything on that side of the ball. Open competition isn't just to find new people. It can also be a method of making certain who you have starting is really the person you want. Sort of like proving a theory. A theory is proven when all other possibilities are proven false. Prove that all possible TEs and FBs besides the two starting are not as good and you prove that you have the best people at the position. It will only make the team better by having ALL members of the team fighting for a starting position. Even though these two positions are not that important to the success of a football team, they should be challenged to be better players. You are preaching to the choir gp. If the coaching staff had just spent some time before the season trying to determine who the best players were and make them the starters instead of using that stupid lottery system things would be a lot different now.

I believe your Dad used to say that. -
We have 10 verbals thus far for the 2011 class. I believe he means for 2010 Zachster.

I'm predicting a 14 point Zip victory.

Unless the coach is making absolutely horrible decisions, the players are to blame. If I was Brown at Texas, I would treat this off season like a new coach does. Fiind out who wants to be there. Open up every position for competition. That team is asleep and they need to be awakened. The talent is there, just not the performance. A program like Texas needs this every once in a while. They play in an extremely difficult conference and sometimes some humiliation can go a long way to regenerate a team. Getting back to the Zips. This off season has to have every position opened up for competition. I agree 100%. Don't use that noncompetitive system they used this year ever again.

I thought it was a math thing.

The 2011 Recruits Thread
Zipmeister replied to Quickzips's topic in Akron Zips Basketball Recruiting
I would hate to see Nik leave after this year, but I can certainly understand why he would do it. Basketball was a tool for him to get stateside and receive a quality education. Unless he is looking to go to grad school, it sounds like that goal will have been complete. Heading back home where there will be opportunities for him to play professionally would make some sense. I hope it doesn't happen, but if it does I can certainly understand why. Luckily for the Zips we are incredibly deep at the forward spots heading into next year with Euton, Egner, Treadwell, Harney, Diggs, Gilliam and Green. I think he needs to become a better player, if he wants to complete professionally. I don't care what the level of play is in Luxembourg, it's higher than what he's played at @ UA. Actually I think he's ready. http://www.eurobasket.com/Luxembourg/basketball.asp -

From the Article: Senior running back Mike Thomas said players had to adjust, but he said he respects Ianello's approach because it will help in the long run. Well, there's your problem, right there. He's been playing linebacker all year. Sometimes you just have to be able to recognize your team's greatest strengths. (Sigh) I am seriously worried about morphing into Zipmeister II. Zips get better but not enough points to win it. Ball State 24-14. One should never worry that they may improve.

Stan Hywet named one of worst run charities in America
Zipmeister replied to MDZip's topic in Off Topic, Smack & Jokes
Stan Hywet was a great place to go to watch a Zips soccer game back in the early 60s. -
Of course when we were in the OAC with them they were a regular opponent, and though it has been a while since we last played them I like our chances. We lead the all time series with the Carrolers 21-6. But please do not go in overconfident. Let's avoid the beatdown they put on us back in '53.

I liked the part about playing "crispy." Is it KFC night?

Second round of conference expansion is beginning.
Zipmeister replied to ZachTheZip's topic in Off Topic, Smack & Jokes
Blame it on the Big East for setting the selection bar at "terrible." If they had just set it at "abysmal" we would still be in the running. Heard that the SWAC is thinking of extending us an offer. -

CSU also had very good teams in the 60s and 70s. -
Probably just gas.

Apparently ZN.O is so popular it was shut down for an extended period yesterday. Congrats.

He is relatively young and appears to be in good health. If this counts as TWO strong points please delete one.

PN7 was 15 of 26 for 134 yards with 1 interception. Don't know how many sacks, but he had -26 yards on 10 "rushes." As a team, Zips had a grand total of 20 rushing yards in 28 attempts for a rushing average of .7 yards. The punting game was pretty decent. 1) THIRTEEN of those 15 completions were to TRUE FRESHMEN. 2) Temple did not run effectively until the game was WELL out of hand. While the offense continued to be inept, I thought that today the defense was on the verge of ept.
