Well it could have been worse. He could have said, "UA football is like a pie in the sky. Now all we have to do is get it down here where we can eat it."
-
I'm not one to say I told you so, but if you check other threads you will see that the Zipmeister predicted ND would be coming to Info in the not too distant future. With this coaching hire we are one step closer to that prediction coming true (Please, let's not get into that ugly Mayan - Aztec - Incan controversy again).

Hey ZIPNATION...the Big Guy turns 19 on Sunday!!
Zipmeister replied to FromdaBurgh's topic in Akron Zips Basketball
WOW...ZM...why you gots to put me in DA BIG HOUSE...I couldnt go to "county"...geezzzz....I'm a first time offender!!! Way funny..@ AZB--...so I just talked with Zeke and found out that he is staying in a hotel for the next 20+ days because the dorms are closed for the holidays...BOOOO....!! Sooo unfortunately, my plans to do up his dorm room are out. OH Well, can I get an A for effort anyway... I'm still going to bring him a cake and would like for the ZIPNATION to help me sign happy birthday to him!! HOLLA BACK FANS!!!@ZR32..nawww...Zeke doesnt come onto this forum...thank goodness or I would be in some big trouble...LOL:)OK...so my ever loving, yet sarcastic husband pointed out to me that I wrote "sign" instead of "sing". I am sooo sure that you all...ZIPNATION would not have laughed at me!! Yeah right!! Your probably rollin on the floor crackin up...good thing I got to it first!!!! See you tonight!I wish you had posted this correction a little quicker. Just so I could join in the fun, I enrolled in a signing class and have already taken one lesson. Now it turns out I spent this money in vain! And I feel a bit foolish after I bragged to all my buddies about the great deal I got by getting in on their three year plan (in addition I got a 10% discount on the signing classes by also enrolling in their ballroom dance program). At least I have much of my spare time now accounted for through the year 2012. To think I was willing to bake you a cake with a file in it to help you bust outta da big house. -
We should offer the guy from UNC who kicked his penalty kick high a scholarship to kick field goals for our football squad.

the lead gets even bigger for a while, but then the Fighting Maloners close the gap and the Zips end up winning by 14.
-
Not only is it possible, it is a fact. Playing two games on the same field at once is just too confusing.

I can see the headline in the Sunday ABJ now......Pennsylvania woman arrested for breaking and entering University of Akron dorm room: Stalker claims to be related to victim. Never fear, I will visit you in prison. -
I believe we can solve the situation internally by switching the Tonganator from defense.

The stadium cams don't seem to be working.

Where the #@%*'s the poll? I'm not interested in learning whether you can click a box or not. I'm interested in your insightful comments. By the way, my guesses are zero and 2. And I know Zach will be kicking himself for letting me beat him to the bunch on this critical topic.

Before we knew who he was, some posters suggested that the new HC might bring some of his recruits along with him. So now that we do know the HC how many of RI's ND recruits do you expect will decide to become a Zip? How many existing FI do you expect will transfer? How many are surprised UAkronkid wasn't the person to start this topic?

VERY hard to argue with that line of reasoning. He ought to know better than anyone on this board regardless, but that's not the point. There is no greater factor to consider than human nature, and it's hard to imagine that he would make a bad decision when it would obviously be self-destructive.The only question I would ask is, how much was he limited by things out of his own control, such as money limitations, for one example.Me and my golfing buddy (let's just call him T.W. for the moment) couldn't agree more with your human nature comment.

So you are asuming that Tonga and Henderson will still be here along with Fleming. I hope you are correct. You forgot Joe RashI'm guessing Henderson will be a no show. But not only will Tonga be back, I'm predicting that he will have an even bigger year next year than Bain had this year.

Ianello is one step removed from being a Belichick assistant. The way you repeat whatever you hear, you're one step away from being a parrot. But I don't hold it against you?ouch

Personally I don't find insider nepotism nearly as objectionable as outsider nepotism. Look a smiley face.

Meister sighting in 5, 4, 3, 2........1, ...........I will reserve judgment until the news conference when hopefully we will learn how many of my criteria the new head coach meets. Specifically:1. a willingness to coordinate home football games with rifle matches and club baseball games (ideally hold all three events on Summa Field at the same time).2. a concerted effort to recruit smaller defensive backs.3. a pledge to continue the feared 3-3-5 defensive scheme.

Hey! He's got a kid named UAkronkid.

Does the UA women's bball team have an open assistant coach position or will one of the current assistants have to be canned to make room for the Mrs.?

Imagine the recruiting advantage that MLS team would have. They'd have one of the top, if not the top program in the NCAA right down the road. They'd also have other top teams coming in to Akron to play UA which is another recruiting tool. I hate soccer (too boring, but Akron soccer is fun because of all the action), but a MLS team might be fun to have. I guess I'm for this!Yes. Recruiting is critical for MLS teams. They should start a draft so they don't have to recruit. Are there any other boring sports you think Akron should try to attract? Look a smiley face. This means that I don't think your post was idiotic.

e has nothing to worry about. Who in his right mind would turn down a head coaching opportunity at YSU for an assistant position at FSU?

At this moment we are only two bimbos away from the Women of Tiger Woods calendar. Somebody will make a lot of money off this. Could have been me, but I pass. Remember you heard it here first.

UA Trustee removed from the board.
Zipmeister replied to ZachTheZip's topic in General UA & Campus Discussion
And man does it cost. I couldn't wait to flee the 3% city income tax.Mayor Don has turned the City into such an unattractive place that the house my company bought off of me two and a half years ago still sits empty in one of the nicer neighborhoods on the west side.Good riddance. If that's the way you feel, we don't want you around here. Contrary to everything you have heard, based on the overall picture of more than 20 years as mayor, Don has done a good job.I would like to find someone with his dedication to coach our fb team.Has Don been considered for the HC position? He has a little football experience in his background. -
Most of the posters on this board. This board is a strange mix of students and older guys who wish the world was like a Leave It To Beaver episode only with a more "suburban" tilt. What could be more suburban than Mayfield?

One reason I miss Mike Waddell. Used to love going up to Spaghetti Warehouse for a decent dinner and to listen to the show. Mike made it somewhat entertaining and was always courteous and professional to those in attendance (usually just the guest(s) and myself and my girlfriend).Wow Rowdy. You sure know how to show a girl a good time.
