  1. Former player, now coach, likely to win a "mythical" national championship with his 2019 NJ State Champion H.S. team.
  2. Perhaps someone complained and the State of Ohio stepped in to let UA know that they can't "make money" off of public records. UA can charge for the cost of making copies and mailing. Money can't be made off charging only what it costs. Ohio taxpayers paid for these records that are available to the public (upon request). I added the parenthetical because you seem to think there is a difference between records that the university puts out in the public domain and those that are available to the public upon request. To me, they are all public records.
  3. Hey Zipmeister...I just received an email with the electronic document attached FREE OF CHARGE. PM with your email address if you would like a copy.
  4. Congratulations to Jon Lewis.
  5. Rowdies here in Morgantown...
  6. Great season for the ?s ends against a great team in the semifinals. Nothing but respect for Simon and the Medina Boys Soccer team.
  7. It appears that Darlington Nagbe is coming back to Ohio to be reunited with Caleb Porter in Columbus. ??????
  8. I still have no idea what the current tiebreakers are for MAC Men's Soccer, but apparently they favor Akron... https://gozips.com/news/2019/11/5/akron-earns-right-to-host-mac-mens-soccer-championship.aspx AKRON, Ohio - On the strength of a dramatic 3-2 comeback victory over Northern Illinois on Saturday, Nov. 2, the University of Akron men's soccer team has earned the right to host the 2019 Mid-American Conference Championship, Nov. 15-17, at FirstEnergy Stadium. The top-seeded Zips will welcome the conference's best squads to FirstEnergy Stadium for first time since the 2016 campaign when semifinal matches are contested on Nov. 15, and the championship match on Nov. 17. Akron will host the advancing team from the Nov. 12 quarterfinal match between the fourth and fifth tournament seeds on Nov. 15 at 6 p.m., while the No. 2 seed battles the advancing squad from the quarterfinal showdown between the third and sixth seeds at 3 p.m. The advancing teams from the semifinal contests will vie for the league's automatic NCAA bid in the title match on Nov. 17 at 1 p.m. ...
  9. Looking forward to this one between Simon Spelling's Medina Bees and St Ignatius. Very happy it is in my town ...
  10. ❤️ These pics. So happy for Will and all of the guys. Such a well-deserved win.
  11. Exactly @ZipsVoice I don't think any of us said the CSU game was a priority. I expect our Zips to show up, ready to play, whomever the opponent and regardless of who is not available. Disappointed that we didn't see that. Although the CSU game would not have affected RPI in a helpful way, it would have given the Zips the possibility to finish the season/MAC Tourney with a winning record. Now, the best the Zips can do is 8-9-2. Could be the difference in getting a 1st round NCAA Tourney home game vs a road game.
  12. Hopefully you're right. I don't get why the MAC seemingly hides this information from its fans. Schools, teams, and conferences need to keep their fans engaged. That's how you keep and build a fan base. Fans want to be connected to the sport and their teams.
  13. I agree, but it was sad at one point when he was lying on the field, in NIU's penalty area, after what he felt was a missed call, and his teammates had to beg him to get up...I heard repeated, "Come on Eggy, we need you." He finally got up and something clicked...he raised his game and did everything he needed to do, except for the stupid yellow card for frustration. David is so talented. If he could get past the drama, I believe he would be one of the greatest D1 NCAA players ever and likely an outstanding professional as well.
  14. St Benedict’s prep with Clint Caso as one if its assistant coaches won the NJ State title again... https://www.sbp.org/athletics/fall-sports/soccer/news-detail/~board/soccer/post/gray-bees-stake-claim-for-13th-national-title-including-an-unprecedented-third-successive-crown
  15. That was unbelievable. Thanks so much Zips. That match will be remembered as one of the greatest Zips Men's Soccer matches ever. So happy to see our team really hang in there in the face of adversity. 3 goals in 8 minutes! WOW!!! Please, let's build on this. BELIEF. These Zips can do this!!! See you in Morgantown Thursday for the regular season finale.
  16. No problem. What you posted is what I found when I went scouring the MAC's website. When it came up, I looked at the menu/header, and it showed "MBB". So, I think it is specific to Basketball and possibly Football. The MAC used to have the soccer tiebreakers posted, but I can no longer find that information. i don't know when they stopped posting it or changed the tiebreakers. They used to follow soccer-specific tie-breaking procedures that aligned somewhat with the pros. At least they made sense for the sport and number of teams involved. I don't understand why the MAC has gone away from being "transparent". One would certainly hope they have these things written down and agreed-to prior to the start of a season so that there is no consternation in deciding when the time comes. Why would that information then not be made available to the fans? I don't get it. The B1G doesn't hide theirs...https://bigten.org/news/2019/9/23/2019-mens-soccer-tournament-tiebreaker-procedures.aspx 2019 B1G Men's Soccer Tournament Tiebreaker Procedures All teams shall be seeded based on the ending Conference standings with 3 points awarded for a win, 1 point for a tie and 0 points for a loss. Ties for seeding will be broken as follows: A. Head-to-head results B. Goal difference between goals scored in all Conference games C. Comparison of total goals scored in all Conference games D. Best record by points (3-win, 1-tie, 0-loss) versus teams in descending rank order E. Coin flip.
  17. @ZipsVoice thanks, but I believe those are the tie-breakers for football and basketball. I may be wrong, but I thought, at least in the past, that men's soccer had different tiebreakers. For example, there are no divisions in men's soccer.
  18. Congratulations to Zips Men's Soccer alum Marcel Zajac and Hamilton Forge FC on winning the inaugural Canadian Premier League championship. https://canpl.ca/article/recap-forge-fc-crowned-cpl-champions-in-gritty-win-over-cavalry
  19. Bottom line is the Zips need to win or draw at WVU to control their own destiny and win the MAC regular season.
  20. If I recall correctly, there is a tiebreaker that is W-L vs common opponents. The Zips would lose this one. The only common opponents outside the MAC I see in 2019 are Michigan State and Xavier. Akron is 1-1; WMU is 2-0. edit: I can't remember which tie-breaker comes after head-head. This W-L record v common opponents, goal differential in the MAC, or other. I have searched the MAC website, but I can't find the tie-breaking procedures. (They have likely changed recently.)
  21. MAC Standings Akron, 3-0-1, 10 points, 9 GF, 4 GA: Goal Differential=5 WMU, 2-1-1, 7 points, 7 GF 5 GA: Goal Differential=2 SIUE, 2-1-1, 7 points NIU, 2-2, 6 points BGSU, 1-3, 3 points WVU, 0-0-1, 1 point Akron plays at WVU Thursday, Nov 7th at 7 pm EST SIUE plays WMU at 1 pm Saturday, Nov 9th at 1 pm EST Since SIUE & WMU play head to head, there cannot be a 3-way tie. In the case of a tie with SIUE, Akron wins the MAC regular season on head to head In the case of a tie with WMU, Akron & WMU tied 1-1 head to head; I think the next tiebreaker is goal differential which we currently lead. I can't find the tiebreaking procedures to verify, though.
  22. Congratulations to Zips Mens Soccer legend Simon Spelling...
