Congratulations again to Zips legend Simon Spelling... -
Me...I'm going to sit back, watch and enjoy some good soccer with a number of Zips and NEO connections.. Saad Abdul-Salaam is on the SoundersFC roster but has not been in the 18 during for the last few playoff matches. Steve Zakuani is an analyst for the SoundersFC in addition to his playing career with them. Add that Drew Carey is a part owner to complete their NEO connections. Of course, I will be rooting for and happy to see Richie do well on the field. He has had a great season with TorontoFC and has also played well for the Canadian MNT. Like in 2015, I will enjoy this MLS Cup Final, whichever way it goes.

WMU and SIUE tied 1-1 this afternoon. That leaves the door open to NIU to claim the #2 seed with a win at BGSU tonight at 7 pm EST. Current MAC standings are Seed Team Points MAC Record 1. Akron 10 (4-0-1) 2/3 WMU 8 (2-1-2) 3/4 SIUE 8 (2-1-2) 2/4/5 NIU* 6 (2-2) [2 seed with a win; 4 seed with a tie; 5 seed with a loss] 4/5 BGSU* 3 (1-3) [4 seed with a win; 5 seed with a loss or tie] 6. WVU 1 (0-4-1) *Play head to head at 7 pm EST tonight. I added seeding possibilities if I understand the tiebreakers. (WMU tied us; SIUE lost to us. I think that puts WMU ahead of SIUE)

Newcastle United 2-1 Bournemouth: Players show spirit as defenders lead way again - 5 things ... Another defender steps up with a goal Newcastle may have spent big on their young, new look strike force in 2019 but it has been defenders who have bailed the black-and-whites out more often that not this season. This time, it was DeAndre Yedlin's turn as the right wing-back, unmarked, met Allan Saint-Maximin's cross-come-shot with a diving header at the back post, which VAR confirmed was not offside. Yedlin became the sixth different defender to score for Newcastle this season. When you consider Newcastle have only scored 11 league goals this season, that contribution represents a whopping 64% of the Magpies' goals. ... ... Newcastle responded - DeAndre Yedlin and Ciaran Clark scoring either side of half-time - and, to a man the players have shown the right attitude since that humiliating defeat at Leicester. ...

Where in the World is Larry Williams? What does he do?

It's already available to the general public ... just request it from UA under the State of Ohio's public records statute. As I recall, my email request was 1 sentence. -

Former player, now coach, likely to win a "mythical" national championship with his 2019 NJ State Champion H.S. team. -
Where in the World is Larry Williams? What does he do?
Zip_ME87 replied to DannyHoke's topic in Other Sports
Perhaps someone complained and the State of Ohio stepped in to let UA know that they can't "make money" off of public records. UA can charge for the cost of making copies and mailing. Money can't be made off charging only what it costs. Ohio taxpayers paid for these records that are available to the public (upon request). I added the parenthetical because you seem to think there is a difference between records that the university puts out in the public domain and those that are available to the public upon request. To me, they are all public records. -

I still have no idea what the current tiebreakers are for MAC Men's Soccer, but apparently they favor Akron... https://gozips.com/news/2019/11/5/akron-earns-right-to-host-mac-mens-soccer-championship.aspx AKRON, Ohio - On the strength of a dramatic 3-2 comeback victory over Northern Illinois on Saturday, Nov. 2, the University of Akron men's soccer team has earned the right to host the 2019 Mid-American Conference Championship, Nov. 15-17, at FirstEnergy Stadium. The top-seeded Zips will welcome the conference's best squads to FirstEnergy Stadium for first time since the 2016 campaign when semifinal matches are contested on Nov. 15, and the championship match on Nov. 17.
