  1. Just to give everyone the heads up, installed today was the words "Infocision Stadium" atop the West Stands facing campus. I have a pretty big break tomorrow so I will try to head up to campus with my camera to snap a pic for you all.And it lights up as well!! It looks great.
  2. I believe there was a post on the site asking if the large Zippy logos atop the scoreboard will light up.I was in Akron tonight and I can confirm that it lights up, on both the stadium side as well as the Exchange Street side. It looks great!I forgot to take pics though, sorry
  3. I don't know what my weekend looks like. Tomorrow is my last day of work in Akron and I have next week to do my moving so I don't know if I will be in Akron saturday. But if I am, you can bet I'll be taking pictures
  4. I am hoping every day for a lights test. You can bet I will be out there to photograph them for everyone if they are lit
  5. Exactly. I'm thinking of the 21 and 22 year olds like myself in particular.
  6. while driving home tonight I saw the ribbon board operational with an ad for the first time. For Bud Light. Why the smack in the face, UA?!
  7. thanks guys. I'm glad you enjoyed them. I was just happy to use my new 55-250mm lens I got for my birthday last week
  8. looks pretty cool. I like the pic with the team practicing. That adds a great touch
  9. Well before I post any of these pics I must first say that the first two pics were taken on the construction site and thus are not a reflection of Zipsnation.org or its staff. We here at ZNO do not condone trespassing in any way, shape or form, even to get some sweet candids ;)Okay, disclaimer out of the way, here are some new pics from tonight. Say hello to your new scoreboard fellas!!:Let's hope that light on the 'p' of the 'Zips' gets fixed before September 12th... from the trackProbably as close as we are all going to get to the club levels. Taken at 250mm:Club/Suite Levels at 70mmfrom the steps of Buchtel Hall. Here you can see how bright the scoreboard really is.Enjoy guys. It was a lot of fun to put my cam to use for these.
  10. Well I know a lot of us who were at the Hard Hat Huddle tonight have a plethora of pictures to share. I am surprised to be the first one to post them, though. Here are some of the best ones:And a couple HDR's for good measure
  11. did anyone compete in the Punt, Pass, & Kick competition? I am curious to see how the competition did. I think I did pretty well hahaIf you were wondering, they did it differently than they do during halftime of the games. They had you punt the ball from the 0, pass the ball from the 0, and then kickoff from the 0. Apparently the highest total score won a pair of tickets. They will be letting the winner know via email.
  12. I will be there with my DSLR as well.I will be participating in the punt, pass, and kick competition as well. I think I'm more excited for that =P since I know I can kick a 40 yard field goal. haha
  13. from GoZips:The University of Akron Department of Athletics, in conjunction with Rubber City Radio Group, will officially kick off the 2009 football season with the “Hard Hat Huddle,” held August 3 (Monday) from 6-8 pm at InfoCision Stadium-Summa Field. The day before my 22nd birthday! Happy birthday to me
  14. I just realized the best thing about the grass at the end of the field. That is amazingly easy access for the student section to storm the field after a huge win
  15. the first light on the southeast side is up! Too bad you can't see it on the cams, though.
  16. Second Roo going up. Looks like the might be back to back. Maybe underneath? No, looks like it's back to back.yeah, I guess I should have waited until I passed the stadium on my way to work to post that lolI thought they were double sided, which I was wrong about.
  17. scoreboard is almost complete- at least the stadium side is. The roo is atop and looks great. I told you they were big, look how it is on the cam!I am curious as to where the other one will go, though.
  18. Any idea how to get involved in them? I'd love to do this since I'm living in AK for the summer.Looks like another layer is going on the endzone buildings!
  19. From the photos, it appears that those are speakers on the top level of the scoreboard. You are correct. There are about 6-8 sitting up there.
  20. I know some pics were recently posted but if I know you guys, you can't seem to get enough of them! So I present you my pics I took tonight on my way back from getting some grub. They were taken with a Canon XSi.overview from the field houseinfamous endzone buildings!East Standssuites with alcoholUnderneath the east standsView from the corner of exchange and spicerscoreboard parts!large Zippy A logos I was talking about in the cams thread.so beautifulExchange Entrance, to west stands
  21. looks like the road is paved behind the stadium now. Also, the parts to the scoreboard are visible from exchange street. They are sitting behind the scoreboard near the road. With them are large circles with the Zippy logo on them. They are about 10' in diameter and 3' thick. Not sure where they are going, though?
  22. There is also an Akron Street on the Texas Tech University campus, if we're feeling like giving up 700 yards through the air.
  23. I am only 2 minutes from the stadium and I pass it every day going to work. I also have a 12.2 Megapixel Canon XSi that takes amazing photos.I can say for certain the only way to get good photos is to have inside access to the stadium. Otherwise you are looking through fence that is far from the stadium. Sorry guys.
  24. I really enjoyed reading up on this thread. Some really good insight from a lot of intelligent members on both sides of the fence.I will be 22 when the Info opens up. I am a bit disappointed with the decision to not sell beer in the stadium but I won't let it affect my gameday fun.I think we're missing a big point in this. What about the amount of revenue that will be "lost" by not selling beer in the stadium?
