  1. Zeke and DJ Cooper will be teammates on the 76ers summer league team in Orlando. Still waiting to hear who Zeke plays for in Vegas once the Orlando league finishes up.
  2. The decision might not have been entirely up to him. Like any transfer, Shell has to qualify for whatever school he transfers to. Or he has to find a school that is able to creatively find a way to get everything squared away.
  3. They need a convention center before they can try to attract convention business.
  4. A shame? UA saved that place from destruction. If UA didn't buy it, the hotel would have gone out of business and then the silos and everything else would have been demolished. Now it's a memorable place to stay for hundreds of UA students every year.
  5. Nobody's confirmed until they show up on the roster. In that respect, only CJ James is confirmed.
  6. If those mattered, then at least half the players in the NFL would never have made it there.
  7. If any coach knows how to judge the character of these kinds of players seeking second chances, it's Terry Bowden.
  8. He approached Akron. We turned him down.
  9. The only reason for Zeke to go to the D-League is if he is intent on killing his professional basketball career before it ever begins.
  10. So here is the list of all the transfers that should be eligible this season: QB Nick Hirschman (Colorado) DT C.J. James (Colorado State) DL Nordly Capi (Colrado State) OT Moses MCCray (Florida State) OL Henry Orelus (Florida State) OL Joe McNamara (Wisconsin) ??? OL Justin Virbitsky (Pittsburgh) ??? Am I missing any? Next season we'll have: DL Se'Von Pittman (Ohio State) DL Cory James (Colorado State)
  11. Iowa State is entering a rebuilding season, they're ripe for a loss to a team like Akron. Saint Mary's will be entertaining, for those who are awake to see it. South Carolina should be easy picking for the Zips, not sure why they agreed to play us. The Zips will look for some major revenge against Coastal Carolina. Oral Roberts will provide a solid mid-major opponent, as will MTSU.
  12. That doesn't make any sense. If the Euro is somebody who will never play in the NBA, then let some other team waste their pick on him. If you're afraid that some other team will draft a guy who won't ever play for them, so you spend your own draft pick on him to keep your opponent from aquiring a stiff, you should be fired. Good teams aquire talent even if they don't need it or have room for it. Bad teams waste draft picks on "strategy" BS and then wonder why they can't win without talent.
  13. The entire league? No. 75% of the league? absolutely.
  14. If any team calls Zeke up saying that they'll sign him on the condition that he plays in the D League, Zeke needs to tell them to kindly go eff themselves. Same as if the Heat call him. Worst place possible for Zeke to go. A completely opposite culture from what Zeke with his personality would fit in with. No way it would ever work out. Plus, the Heat will collapse after next season (and not because of LeBron; DWade might not physically hold up that long and Pat Riley will almost certainly retire).
  15. You sure do put a lot of faith in these teams' ability to evaluate talent.
  16. Every year you see a ton of Euro players taken that everybody knows will never actually play in the NBA. They'll stay in the Euroleague their entire careers. It's a waste of picks.
  17. The NY Times writes a feature on Akron.
  18. It looks like the other CSU transfer will be Nordly Capi. He ran into some trouble two years ago and had to sit out last year. That should make him immediately eligible.
  19. Probably Can't. The lighting in their gym is just awful. Everything is yellow.
  20. Article from when we offered him a scholarship
  21. 5'11" 165lb CB Kyron Brown from Boynton Beach Community HS in Florida has committed to the Zips! 247 Sports profile.
  22. Not so. CJ James and Cory James are actually different people.
  23. Two halves make a whole, as they say. Anyway, here's his highlight tape.
  24. 5'9" 160lb CB Bernard Willingham from Glades Central HS in Florida has committed to the Zips! 247Sports profile Rivals ESPN Also had an offer from Marshall.
  25. That sounds too good to be true. Man, do I hope you're right about that. Although I don't see any way he wouldn't have to sit out a year. I wonder what is up with CSU's defensive coaching staff. Is it a personality problem that's driving all their players to seek out their former position coach Todd Stroud, who now coaches Akron's Defensive Line?
