  1. Matt Rodgers, comeback player of the year? If he does happen to win back the starting job, I would be in favor of redshirting Nicely if possible to get an extra year out of him and give him an extra year to really get the new offense down.
  2. Big sign in the window says they're officialy opening on September 4th. As for the selection of Zips gear, the bookstore has the most hands down. Places like Walmart and Kohls have 5 to 7 unique Zips items on a good day. They're a lot cheaper than the bookstore items and they have more stock, but the selection isn't there. I think what made the team shop in the JAR look like there wasn't much selection was the limited space disallowing for stacks of the same item to be on display. You see a large stack of a few items and you might think that there is more there than seeing a bunch of single, unique items with less volume. When they open the new shop, with much more room than the JAR, they'll have almost the same selection of items, but they'll be on display like at a department store with tons fo the same item stacked up or hanging from a rack, giving the impression of a better selection. We'll see if that's actually on opening day.
  3. Didn't think they were so desperate to start taking girls from the softball team.
  4. UA gets its 150,000th graduate. Conveniently happening during its 200th commencement ceremony. You would think the university would have more alumni over 140 years of existence.
  5. Looks like next saturday will be an all-day affair with the men's soccer team holding an open scrimmage after football, at 7:30
  6. I'm worried that the lights aren't working. I wanted it to be at 7:30 to see the field at night and see the lighting system.
  7. Proximity to an all-you-can eat buffet at Rob's is a factor that should not be overlooked.
  8. Forward from Cleveland with academic struggles who spends time on campus? Who could it be? David Jackson? Ryan Hicks? Nah. Gotta be the guy you linked.
  9. NCAA blogs about the top 10
  10. That's it. Post-secondary. It is a great program. Lots of HS students don't take advantage of it because they don't want to leave their friends for half a day or take the plunge into campus life early, while they could get two or three semesters worth of credits out of the way for free. Still, I wish we knew who it was. I can wait until the 23rd to find out, but if it's still a secret after then I hope someone figures out who it is.
  11. Tomorrow at 6:00PM, the women's team will be playing an exhibition game against Wright State at the newly renovated Lee Jackson Field. This is your first chance to see how the new field holds up to gameplay, and to check out the stadium in person. It's also the first athletic event on campus for the 2010-2011 season. The women's team is improving greatly, and with the new stadium to help recruiting they should keep getting better in the future. They won the MAC East last season and had the best record in team history. I think with solid fan support they have the potential to be a top 25 team, or at least start receiving votes in the poll.
  12. Well, that was fast. We obliterated the poll.
  13. If they're on campus this fall, it would be someone who graduated in 2010, right? Unless there is a way for them to attend some classes at UA while remaining in High School (UA has a program like that but I forget what it's called). If he's from the 2010 class, he's not listed on any recruiting service unless there's been a decommit from some other school.
  14. We need to get on this guy and play the "home" angle. Of course, he might have been friends with Devoe Torrence, who likely has nothing good to say about us.
  15. Wow, good point.. I can't believe they base those numbers on completing a degree in 4 years. It is almost impossible in any major these days without summer courses By this measure, universities who focus heavily on "easy" degrees with no co-op opportunities will get ranked much higher.
  16. Hartwick is like the Miami of MAC soccer. They're much too full of themselves.
  17. There is currently a poll on the front page of the MAC website about who will win the MAC East in football. Whether you really believe it or not, vote for Akron! I hate seeing all the media and fans gushing over Temple. Makes me sick. So VOTE for Akron! We can tip this poll in our favor pretty easily.
  18. I agree. No problems to report, just wanted to get away from Rodriguez.
  19. The bar was located where the parking lot is. But the Odd Corner was exactly where the team shop is, and they sold candy and coffee. On an unrelated note, I saw these in many different sizes and shapes at the Best Buy near Chapel Hill.
  20. Thanks for the pic! I doubt it's complete before the first non-scrimmage game. The press box has to go up, still. it's bigger than I thought it would be. You can see the very top of the stands from Exchange.
  21. Welcome! I think you've got it as far as the lineup. Kitchen is transitioning to a midfielder, and on the U-20 team he played more of a defending midfielder than a true defender. So much talent that we don't know where everyone will play. It's exciting.
  22. Chase Hounshell verbals to Florida. Deonte Gibson verbals to Pittsburgh.
  23. http://www.chicagohoops.com/articles1/dylanennis2.html He'll make his decision by mid-to-late October. Current offers are Rice, Santa Clara, Akron, Northern Iowa, Charleston, Bradley, Wisconsin Green-Bay, Buffalo, Wagner, St. Bonaventure, and North Dakota.
  24. So we can expect both Walsh and Chauncey Gilliam to play starting in 2011? What does this do to our scholarship situation?
