  1. That's HUGE fellas... HUGE!!!
  2. Eguins...Labor Day weekend a bad time to have a football game in Cleveland???Let's think here for a bit...1. It's the "Patriot Bowl", and whether you want to believe it or not it WILL draw veterans2. It's Labor Day weekend and people (especially families) will be looking for an event or activity to attend3. As well the game being played in an NFL stadium is a draw for locals and the average fan because even if it's not that great of a game (in their opinion) not many avid football fans pass up the chance to watch a football game and drink beer. NE Ohio is supposed to be a football crazed area right???4. I don't care what you have to say about your attendance at Yunztown or your opinion of ours, we travel well to well publicized games... i.e. MCB in 06 sold out allotment and I realize it was a bowl game but it was also in Detroit which is much further than Cleveland (where alot of students are from and will be visiting for Labor Day Weekend)thanks for comin out
  3. You should probably say the legs of Hakes now... my friend who works with the team told me Hakes had a faster 40 time this spring. I was pretty shocked!
  4. If we ran the wishbone I think I'd stop watching hahahaha
  5. Now now... lets look at the positives fellas. Yes Harvey is a big loss, but Lindsey is taking summer classes and SHOULD be eligible this fall just as he was last fall. But for now let's just say he's out (hypothetically of course).Look at our OffenseQB 7 Carlton Jackson 6-2, 195, So OR11 Chris Jaquemain 6-2, 210, So OR13 Sean Hakes 6-3, 200, RFrRB 3 Dennis Kennedy 5-11, 215, Jr29 Andre Walker 5-10, 185, Sr26 Alex Allen 6-0, 205, SoFB 33 Joe McDaniel 5-11, 220, Jr OR32 Joe Tuzze 5-11, 230, SoWR 17 Brandon Williams 6-1, 180, Jr-(18 Jermaine Lindsay 6-1, 165, So)***WR 12 Jabari Arthur 6-4, 225, Sr14 Johnny Long 6-1, 175, Sr4 Stephon Fuqua 6-1, 200, JrTE 84 Kris Kasparek 6-6, 265, Sr83 Merce Poindexter 6-4, 245, Jr25 Jose Cruz 6-5, 240, RFrLT 74 Chris Kemme 6-6, 300, Jr75 Corey Woods 6-5, 285, RFrLG 71 Mike Ward 6-3, 300, RFr70 Garrett Brewster 6-3, 315, JrC 64 Jim Holley 6-3, 295, Sr51 Elliott Bates 6-4, 295, SoRG 68 Mike Schepp 6-4, 315, Sr78 Zach Anderson 6-4, 295, So79 Jason Sekinger 6-9, 330, SoRT 77 Keith Huebner 6-7, 300, So69 Casey Estrada 6-5, 290, JrI'm not too worried about putting this offense on the field, I think we're freaking out a little bit.
  6. No offense 74ZIP, but just because the kid couldn't pass his classes doesn't make him a "low-life" so kids just aren't cut out for college. It's a shame that he couldn't capitalize on the opportunity at Akron and it hurts the team. But you're acting like he's a criminal or something. Maybe I impathize because I have had a friend flunk out, and he's the farthest thing from a "low-life".
  7. I'm sure it's not gonna be that packed for an air show that we can;t find parking... hopefully we can tailgate and see some sweet planes while we're at it.
  8. Well hey lets look on the bright side at the very least the people who are there to see the air show might be enticed to go see a football game while theyre there. We'll just have to get there early and booze all day til game time... hahaha it'll sure make for a rowdy crowd that way hahahaha.
  9. Why wouldn't there be any place to park? There better be a place to tailgate too... where are you getting that info?
  10. There's no way the Browns take Brady Quinn over Adrian Peterson. You're talking about the same Adrian Peterson that when healthy is arguably one othe best running backs to play college football. He had an ankle an collerbone injury, it's not like he blew out a knee, so I don't wanna hear about the injury issues. We haven't even gotten a good look at what Frye can do cause he's had a terrible line ever since he's been there. just imagine the damage the Browns could do with Jamal Lewis and Adrian Peterson in the backfield.
  11. The stats they recorded are a little off because had had 4 pass attempts just on that final drive and he somehow had only 8 attempts total??? but whatever it doesn't matterYou watched the game, so let's look at the arguement you're trying to make, "Jackson played better than Jacquemain". Jackson:First off I can't name one positive thing that Jackson did, can you? He scrambled but tended to run backwards and get touched by the surrounding three DL or Linebackers. He might be athletic BUT he did run a 4.8 last spring so there's not too much he could have down to salvage the play 15 yards behind the line of scrimmage. He also consistently threw into covered recievers (all his deep balls). Lastly I didn't like his attitude when the drive (or lack there of was over) he would unstrap his helmet and WALK off the field, not talking to anybody on the team. Interesting fact I just realized, Jackson has never thrown a TD pass in a college game yet, not last spring game, past season or this game.JacquemainI'll be the first one to admit he didn't look "amazing", but if the WR catches that dropped fade pass, we might be talking about Jacquemain and Hakes being the most impressive QB in this game. He ran the ball decently... which is more than you can say for Jackson (BTW all 3 QB's dealt with the same rule so it doesn't matter about it being touch). I also liked his command of the offense he seemd very confident out there. He got a few first downs and played pretty average. P.S. I don't know if you were paying close attention but Jacquemain and Hakes also ran the first team Offense because there were 3 QB's and only 1st and 2nd team O and D, so as they rotated they each played both, even CJ.
  12. Here are my notes on the Spring Game:Defense:Nate Robinson and Cecchetti really shocked me because I expected the DL to be a weakness and IMO it proved to be one of the strengths in the scrimmage. They really seem to have a swagger that we didn’t have last year. Doug Williams was obviously impressive while recording his 2 sacks. I think we’ve looked over the fact that we couldn’t get a sack for the life of us last season and the defense had pressure on the QB’s the entire game. Another player that stood out to me that nobody has mentioned yet was SS Wayne Cobham. He really showed a good nose for the ball and has good size and athleticism. Also Andre Jones showed he’ll definitely be a ball hawk again this season and he’ll give QB’s fits this season.Offense:IMO Hakes was the most impressive passing and running. Jacquemain was next in line but didn’t show the ‘moxie’ that Hakes did. Jackson was disappointing as he couldn’t get anything started and only lead the team to one first down and threw into coverage numerous times.Dennis Kennedy and Andre Walker looked good. Both had their moments and ran hard, although I felt Kennedy looked a little bit better. He is definitely not avoiding contact like he did so many times after getting dinged up last season, so it’s good to see he’s healthy. (not going to mention Andrew Johnson because he won’t be playing in 07)I will say the injuries at WR did make it hard to judge how good the offense is going to be next fall. I really hope the receivers can get healthy ASAP because they are missing out on precious time that they could be getting their timing down.
  13. Hey I don't know what game you were watching but CJ completed 2 of his 12 or so passes and only gained 1 first down the entire scrimmage. Hakes was by far the most impressive followed by Jacquemain. CJ had negative rushing yards while Hakes had around 40 yards rushing and Jacquemain had around 20 yards (w/o sacks into the equation).
  14. As Lee Corso would say... not so fast my friend!!!There is 10 1/2 months of recruiting to go and alot can happen. I think the Zips will be one of his top choices if they offer... but you just never know. I hope you're right though!Go Zips!!!
  15. GP- Why would you say Syracuse??? IMO Akron is a much better program than 'cuse... who haven't had a real good season since McNabb left. We are a program on the rise while they haven't been able to get it right in years. To bet on where a kid will end up is crazy tho, there are so many more factors that go into the descision and they vary for each individual kid. If Trey is looking to be close to home where all his family can watch the games while getting the opportunity to contribute early I think Akron would be his best choice. Without knowing what factors are going to play the biggest part in his decision there's really no telling.
  16. Jake Stonebrunner is committed to Ohio State and he was a wide reciever on their team last year. Here's a link
  17. GP... Why do you say that???To be honest, I'm not really worried about any other MAC school. Akron has the brightest future out of the MAC schools (in Ohio at least).Miami: haven't been successful since Shane Montgomery took overBowling Green: has been declining as Urban Meyer's impression there fades (if it's even there anymore)Toledo: they're struggling to replace Gradkowski and haven't really found domeone to fill that void yetOhio: if he's not playing running back he won't touch the ballCan't: nuff saidAkron: I'm very confident that after he sees the young talent we've got and that we've got a state of the art stadium in the works. Combine that with the fact that JD has produced some great recievers (Larry Fitzgerald), I think Akron will be high on Trey's list. I'm not really worried unless some big BCS school comes along, but I think Trey might realize that he could make an immediate impact at Akron and he might not get as good of a look at a big BCS school because he isn't as highly coveted. If he does choose another MAC school I'd personally be suprised, but if you have some info to dhare please do. I just look at the logic and it wouldn't make sense.
  18. It's on the same day it's just before the Blue-Gold Game.
  19. Hey, a-zip... This is why you suck!!!
  20. Awww C'mon you gotta have a sense of humor...My favorite part is when he is talking about their girls and says they look like 'soccer moms at 19' hahaha
  21. This is hilarious... I don;t know why but I hate Duke Basketball and this video kinda explains it hahaha.
  22. I think this team is as good or better than the teams we've put on the field for the past 2 seasons. Yea the QB's are gonna be young but they're better than Fluke Getsy. It's not like they can play worse than he did against Army, and if they do we are in some serious trouble!
  23. I didn't like the way SMQ was trying to rip on everybody.I do agree that comparing CJ to Michael Vick at this point is pretty tough (seeing as Michael Vike was a FREAK). But Rasor just claimed he had Mike Vick "athleticism"... so it's not so bad, but still a stretch at this point because CJ has yet to blow me away with his "athleticism".
  24. It's true man they haven't been wearing the jersey's at all. Otherwise it would have been mentioned that they were wearing the red jerseys. THese QB's need to get used to contact since none of them have really played in a game, it'll also get them the respect of the team. I hate when QB's wear those jerseys, if you strap on those pads and step onto a field you better be able to take a hit just like any other player. This is not a ssport for people who don't enjoy contact.
  25. SMQB= Douche BAG!!!He was just hating on Akron cause Rasor wouldn't write the preview for him...
