  2. I strongly think they should have accepted the Humanitarian Bowl offer. The article that rifle posted made perfect sense in that the Cardinals have hurt themselves AND the MAC. They have essentially admitted that they cannot hang with a program the likes of which the MAC would love to have a couple of. An undefeated team that is afraid of competing with a program that they want to be? That's bush! Thanks Testicle Tech.Bad call, bad mojo, although the only reason I'm bummed about it is that it hurts the MAC, and thereby hurts Akron. I still have a real distaste for Ball State as a team in general, and if they make fools of themselves through this decision, good for them. I hated their swagger and team smugness when they played here. Is it possible to want something very bad to happen to them that will, at the same time, not hurt the MAC?DRINK BEER, DRINK BEER, DRINK BEER GOD D___ DRINK BEER.......GO ZIPS!SeeTeeZip

  6. The school needs to find those answers out, yet because they aren't involving you in case you accuse them of doing nothing. I am saying you're wrong for making the accusation that the director of athletics would care so little for his teams. I am also saying that the Zips have a better chance of winning the BCS Championship than you finding out who might have incorrectly leaked something (if that was even what happened). Maybe you should write a little note to the ABJ fully explaining to the journalists how they should have done their job as you did to me above. NOTHING can be done NOW that can make that game replayed here at Akron or even make it right. Be pissed add it to the growing list of times we've gotten screwed. Hell, prove me wrong and post out here when you've finished the witch hunt. It about more than just moving on. The only thing that can come out of this is an assurance that things will change and it won't happen again. Mack has already made this assurance that he is going to do what he can.You wanted the last word, but you aren't getting the last word rifle. You can care not, but don't ask for any of the rest of us to take the same approach as you. Not all of us can be as sage and wise as you. Move on, by all means.   STZFWIW...I don't think I ever saw or felt that she doesn't care. She just knows, like I do, that there's really zero we can do about it. I was really pissed at first too, but now, there's no point in getting so worked up over it. My blood pressure is a little more important to me than worrying about whose fault it is that UA got screwed again.Well I'm an old fart, health and reasonable outlook be damned. I want someone to pay for what happened. OK, maybe not pay, but damn it I want to know what the hell happened, who did what, who was fighting for the team and fans. McManamon, go dig up some more dirt. That's your role in society. DO IT.STZP.S.-Last Word. Infinity, freaks.
  7. Here we go:BAIN will RAIN PAIN on your BRAIN. You will be sprawled on the fruited PLAIN of GRAIN, waiting to be flushed down the DRAIN.GO ZIPS!STZ
  8. I hope that you are wrong as well. if they do go down I will blame the kitchen staff. it seems like everytime I go there they forget to bring me my food and it comes out cold. (one time burnt and cold) but the bar is AWSOME!! what they need to do is tell Damons to F-off and get someone real to run that kitchenAMEN BROTHER. Actually, I don't feel quite as strongly about the food, but the Damon's aspect certainly doesn't live up to the OBC aspect. Can you imagine combining the overall dealio at Barley House with the fresh-brewed goodness that is OBC? I just got the shivers thinking about it.GO BEER! GO ZIPS! TO HELL WITH THE NCAA!SeeTeeZip, aka OBC Mug #89I just don't like the Barley House on the weekend nights. to much music and stupid people for meTrue. Say, I wonder how many OBS mug holders are also ZN posters/lurkers? We've accounted for at least three here of late (me, JohnnyZip84, you). Are you aware of others on the boards?STZ, OBC Mug 89

  12. we got screwed over this isn't fair they didn't give us the chance or even listen to us there might have been ulterior motives of the committee, but we won't officially come forth with that accusation cover my ass, it's not my fault (sidenote - sources could be anyone athletic or non-athletic related) again, not fair, not listened too, game moved, final word, the end. f*ck the ncaa i'm pissed point out to them how they f*cked up no matter what comes out of this it won't change our loss AT northwestern that ended the season. The bottom line for you appears to be that we got screwed, aw shucks, it sure does suck, but it's over and let's move on. Answer to that thought process: no. As a fan, I for one WANT to know just exactly who in the department or grounds crew told the NCAA the field would not be playable? Did McManamon ask that simple question? Did anyone whose job it is to report for a living get D'Ann Keller on the phone for another interview to ask that question? Not that I can see. Did Mack make calls to determine whether Keller could be overruled? Did anyone in the administration at UA try to get the decision reversed? You don't know anymore than I do the answers to these questions, which should be simple answers for the Leaking Urinal reporter to obtain, and you apparently don't care. I don't know why you are so resigned to getting screwed without answers. If you don't care or don't think we could have gotten answers, fine. Then get off the train and stop responding to posts wherein people are asking such questions. We sure as hell don't need someone like you telling us that somehow we shouldn't be asking them. GO ZIPS!SeeTeeZip
  13. What an obnoxious post, rifle. Guess what Superstar? Neither of us were there, Master of the Obvious. The point is that there is ZERO indication in anything any of us have heard or read to indicate that UA really fought tooth and nail, the way many of us did, to do something about what happened. No explanation regarding whether D'Ann was lying about the officials who she asserted told her the field would not be ready to go, no indication regarding efforts to change the decision, no nothing other than a vague indication of disappointment. Isn't the point of stories and articles to flesh out things that the reader might have questions about? If Mack fought, why was that not fleshed out in the article. If a bunch of knuckleheaded fans like us can flood inboxes and make phone calls, do you suppose someone at UA might want to at least explain what steps they took to fight for the team, the alumni, the program? You're having been a UA athlete back in the day (which makes two of us by the way, along with probably half of the other posters here) means nothing in this particular scenario either.SeeTeeZip
  14. NNNOOOOOO!!!!! SAY IT AIN'T SO!!!!!I just bought my own reserved mug at OBC and was starting to think of it as my local kinda hang out. I have noticed that it seems not as popular as Barley House next door, but I really, really, really like the OBC brew. It's the only brew pub in town. Please stick around Verich's!OBC Mug #89 outSeeTeeZip
  15. It was a good article, although knowing what we all went through over the holiday period after the game, seeing how things transpired, what impresses itself the most in my mind is the ineffectiveness of the UA staffers, AD and President. Who the hell are the seemingly unidentified Akron staffers who blew it by telling D'Ann that the field wouldn't be ready, if in fact that happened? Why would Mack allow someone other than himself to discuss such things with the NCAA when the stakes are so high? While we on this board spent the holiday and weekend crashing D'Ann the monster's inbox, what the hell were Mack and Proenza doing? Certainly they understand by now that the NCAA will stick it in our keesters when given the chance. Why weren't they threatening lawsuits, screaming to the media, getting the message out that they were screaming like stuck pigs about this thing? Even now, it appears that the whole episode was greeted with mild upset by Mack and Proenza, and mild disappointment is the general tone coming out of UA about this. That's BS.Message for Mack, Porter, Proenza and company: If you wait for a few tepid comments to come out in a Leaking Urinal article almost a week after getting screwed, and have not rung the alarm loud and wide that you fought every step of the way, that tells me that you are complacent, lazy and punching the clock. Hell, I'd feel better even if they just SAID they were fighting like hell to change the decision. Are you telling me that one mid-level NOBODY at the NCAA named D'Ann has seemingly omnipotent power over these calls, many days in advance? We all know she's a mid-level hack and could have been overcome. She's low level enough that she was responding to MY emails over the weekend. Certainly Proenza, and possibly even Mack, could have/should have jumped WAY over her head to fight for the program.Pathetic. Shame on them.SeeTeeZipper
  16. It's December. Let's talk BAIN! Cap'n, what are you hearing?  GO ZIPS 2009!SeeTeeZip
  17. I'm feeling ill. OMG it's been a year of losing by pretty much every team I care about. I just sent ANOTHER email to D'Ann Keller, the NCAA jerkoff who made the home field call. I would copy and paste here but it would surely get me jammed up with the mods. It was an obscene tirade lemme tell you. I still hope the NCAA nothing but ill, and that those associated with this decision suffer, somehow, for it. Meanwhile, the Zips really did seem lackluster out there. Now, is it harder or easier to recruit when you have what was a highly ranked program in 2008, but lost its home field in the tourney, and lost to the Little Eleven? In the end it's really tough to be a serious fan of Zips sports. The deck is just stacked against you at all times. If you don't have a serious love for underdogs in general, and a high tolerance for suffering and embarrassment, maybe Akron sports aren't for you!STZ
  18. Is it too early to say I HATE SOCCER?
  19. Who's injured on the header?
  20. Man look at that wind. GREAT CALL NCAA. JUST WANT TO PUNCH THE NCAA IN THE F"ING FACE RIGHT NOW.
  21. D'ya think the Big Ten Douche Bag operating the camera could perhaps clear the lens every ten minutes or so?
  22. NW is playing very strong defense and they appear to have a couple of very fast guys who can really move with the ball on the offensive end. Alas this does not look like the OSWHO game where UA was clearly the better team, even for those of us who don't know soccer. COME ON ZIPS. DO IT TO THE MILDPUSSIES!STZ
  23. Oh for Christ's sake....no D...they just scored.....crap.STZ
